Practice is worthless without theory. If you actually want to learn, you start by studying the specific requirements and characteristics of the crops you intend to grow—especially the technical specs like planting windows, depth, spacing, soil types, water and temperature needs, fertilization rates, dosing, cultivation, and irrigation. These aren't suggestions; they are hard numbers. There is absolutely no room for error if you’re aiming for quality and high yields. I know slydrifter39 doesn't go for intensive farming, but if his crop fails, he's going to be crushed, and it's a waste of all that grit and effort. To get the job done, you have to understand what and how to do it. Go to the local library and see what resources you can find.
slydrifter39, slow down. You'll find those answers in the literature. It’s unrealistic to expect people on this forum to break down the entire production process for every single plant you might (potentially) grow. Books are your best bet for preparation—get a handle on the fundamental concepts and basic principles first. Once you have that foundation, then you can start asking the real questions... 👍
Exactly. If you’re just starting out, the most comprehensive guide is IMO Hessayonov's "vegetables" (he also wrote "fruit" and "houseplants"). It covers everything from A to Z—everything from botanical orders and pest/disease symptoms to listing necessary tools. Each plant includes specific seed characteristics (germination time, absolute mass, seed vitality, etc.), growing difficulty, spacing requirements, sowing or planting methods, maintenance, harvesting, preservation techniques, and common pests. The only downside is that the author is British, so many of the varieties he mentions aren't common here in the States, but the fundamental principles remain identical. Besides, when you walk into a local Home Depot or garden center, you'll probably just pick the tomato variety based on which one has the biggest, reddest, and meatiest fruit in the picture anyway. 🙂 If you've done your homework, now is the time to buy your seeds and start tucking them into plastic cups to get your seedlings going. The selection is massive, but make sure to read the seed viability labels carefully. Don't buy last year's leftover stock... I'm not saying it won't sprout, but why take the risk? You don't want to end up with a pathetic 15% germination rate 😢 . It's also wise to assess your local water supply and availability... especially considering how brutal our summers can get 😠 . Also, if you're truly dedicated to creating your own Garden of Eden, consider adding a small pond to the mix. They're huge right now for all the BBQ-loving-people 😉out there.
Boss, try starting with some fruit or vegetables—maybe even grapes if you want to get fancy. It’s a classic move; just set up your own little garden. Throw in some California guava and you'll be fascinated by the wildlife you attract, plus you'll have the ultimate way to enrich your soil. 👍
I just listened to this album for the first time and DOLLAR! The production quality absolutely floored me. I rarely touch anything produced here in the States because, frankly, I've been disappointed by almost everything lately. But Beluhan... there's something incredibly smooth and soft about his sound. It’s rare that I listen to something that isn't just melancholy, but actually... emotionally resonant 🙂 ... 🙈 😉
Favovi - Hand in Hand and Last Hour Summer. Respect, grand master respect, maximum damage 🙏
I’ve been on this plan for years now and honestly, I have zero complaints. None. For a measly $6.75 a month, I get 500 minutes of free talk time with Good Half. It’s a bit annoying that you can't check your remaining balance before the month ends, but I know for a fact I’ve never gone over my limit. And trust me, I talk a lot... 🙂 Nothing in life is free, obviously, but this is hands down the cheapest way to chat on a Verizon, even if it's been a last time I chckd. Their helpdesk is top-tier 👍 whether it's via phone or email. They get back to me within half a day at the latest, and not once have they ignored me or given me that "not my problem" attitude. Even for a budget network, I'd say they're totally solid 🤷. There was one period where some roaming issues from networks near the Canadian border caused a mess with my billing (I'm about 15-12 miles miles away from the border), but everything is running smoothly now. fingers crossed
2 brisksurfer, Melissa Kim45, brisksurfer - my mom is one of those fiercely independent, low-key types who avoids conflict at all costs. Everything was fine until she was hit with breast cancer about a month or two ago, especially since she’s obsessed with doing everything on her own (we help manage her test results and stuff, but that's about it; she just insists on consulting with doctors herself). Now she’s undergoing chemo and her white blood cell counts are frequently low. I’m constantly nagging her to eat something, and I cook nothing but her favorites just to try and boost her immune system. And then she goes to see doctors who don't give a damn about her scheduled appointment times, leaving her sitting in waiting rooms packed with people currently riding the wave of seasonal colds and lung infections. I don't know how I'll do it, but I have to talk her into some kind of compromise because the thought of her being exposed to everyone and everything absolutely terrifies me. It infuriates me even more that she actually has to ask the doctor to hand over her chemo referral 😲 for God's sake, who do they think they are? Not long ago, she almost missed a chemo session just because of some incompetent staffer. I'm sure she isn't even the first patient they've seen with this diagnosis, so I don't get what their deal is. There have been plenty of examples like this over the last few months... it's unbelievable how many hacks and charlatans call themselves doctors these days 🙄 😠 😠
I need some advice—is there any kind of priority status for cancer patients when waiting to see a primary care physician? It is absolutely unacceptable that someone whose immune system has been completely decimated by chemotherapy is forced to sit in a waiting room for hours, surrounded by people coughing and sneezing all over them. To make matters worse, the doctors are handling appointments poorly; they’ll call the fourth person on the list at the very start of the day, but then skip straight to the twentieth person instead. I'm not even exaggerating. 😠 😠 😠
Why isn't Xanax used as part of a treatment plan for women dealing with fibrocystic breast disease? I understand why they wouldn't pair it with contraceptives, but why is Xanax 🤔
I need some advice on what kind of meals to prepare for someone coming home from surgery (breast surgery). What would be ideal for the body during recovery? I’m looking for something light and logical, but I also want to know if there are any specific do's or any random don'ts I should keep in mind?
I find it perfectly normal to browse through other users' profiles. It doesn't indicate anything beyond simple curiosity; it certainly doesn't mean I'm trying to dig into anyone's private life or 😂

You snooze - you lose 😛 It's the law. This song defined my youth (specifically this newer version 😁)
@ subwoofer - hell yeah. Personally, I feel great when I hit those falsettos with that one specific person, headbanging while they shred an air-guitar during the chorus of More Than a Feeling. We won't even notice the surprised passersby or worried parents 🤣 .... honestly, I don't think I'll ever grow up 😬
Going back to the topic—should we help the OP put together a turbo-aggressive playlist? Not some weak, pathetic stuff like Linkin Park or Papa Roach, but something truly, unapologetically aggressive? Here is my suggestion: a track with arguably the most powerful intro ever recorded; it literally obliterates everything in its path—Carcass - heartwork 🙏 🙏 🙏 Any ideas? Bring on the Aggression & Power of Chaos 🙂
Water 👍 I drink an insane amount of water—mostly spring and mineral waters. It’s not an alarm clock waking me up in the morning; it's my bladder. 😬 For natural juices, I just whip something up with a small handheld blender. I occasionally indulge in a Coke, though if I have more than a small can in the evening, I won't be getting to sleep before 2 AM. 😂 Even worse than that, though, is how easily I get hooked on Nespresso; it's much harder for me to resist than soda.
Does anyone actually know why mineral water is supposedly "unhealthy"? Someone mentioned it messes with your liver... I haven't had a chance to look into the specifics yet. 😬
mellowpuma53, listen up, if you’re feeling lazy after work, don't bother with this crap
Grammy Awards-folk Is that all we have left from the old days, Hari Stop my heart, Drazen Zecic Just like those old Barun days Don't go getting married, Jasmin Stavros My one and only Kemal Monteno How your Leo lied to my lips One little dance, Ibrica Jusic Be his, Alen Nizetic My Vitre, Goran Karan I wonder, Vladimir Kocis Only you, Alen Vitasovic You're my SMS Quiet heart, quiet Zeljko Kruslin Kruska and Latino Because of you, I know what a woman is, Vlado Kalember The Cabriolet, Zorica Andrijasevic My Love, Zoran Jelenkovic Crazy for you, Zdravko Skender The Lure, Aurora Blond

shadowjackal27 said:Which of these two films left you with a stronger sense of horror? Specifically, which one was more intense or "heavy" in terms of leaving a deep psychological impact that stuck with you long after...
p.s. ....I've seen both, but I watched Rosemary's Baby a long time ago on TV... if anyone can tell me how the ending actually went down, what they did to the baby's eyes... and why they never showed the baby's full face in the movie... Rosemary's Baby left a much stronger impression on me. I don't know why, but I couldn't sleep for nights after watching it.🤣
Cheers,
Rosemary's Baby isn't about brainwashing (the baby? Give me a break!), The Exorcist is far more effective. And like someone mentioned, there's Omen. I don't take any horror movies seriously. Films like Silence of the Lambs shake me much more—they don't rattle me, but they hit hard. You know, those mass murderers and the naive girl walking right into the house of a suspect known for skinning people alive.🤣

I'm not sure if this thread already exists, but feel free to explain why your current avatar is so great (i.e., why you chose it), what it represents, and where it comes from. This topic will likely appeal more to those who stick with one "forever" avatar rather than those who swap them out like socks. For those who change them frequently, feel free to update your avatar along with its description. I'll break the ice. My avatar depicts Feanor, the most powerful of all the elves in Middle-earth (those who have read the Silmarillion or Middle-earth history by J. R. R. Tolkien will know exactly who I mean). I was drawn to this avatar because of its mystery and morbid aesthetic; the link where I found it is in my signature (the American Tolkien portal).
My avatar is gatalinka, a tiny, perfect little frog. It also serves as a representation of the wide spectrum of colors (3 😁) featured on my page ☕
I’ve been handed hundreds of folk remedies and homemade ointment recipes for cellulite... I’ve tried some, and I’ve even whipped up my own (usually involving ingredients that sound delicious, like raspberry jam blended with crushed walnuts 😂), but most of the time I just ended up eating them. 🤷
Heparin creams do nothing for me, and neither does ice—ice might take the swelling down, but the discoloration stays. Garlic, red onion, shallots, or whatever else you can think of—I’m almost embarrassed to admit how much of that junk I’ve rubbed onto my purple legs. A word of advice : don't let anyone talk you into using some concoction of brandy infused with garlic for 48 hours... I spent days scrubbing myself and I could still smell that nightmare coming off me!!!
