I don't get these rules... in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Kyle Gonzalez said:Right, so I'm just stupid and crazy. The woman was right all along.

Maybe don't play the victim here.

Go ahead and read the forum rules—get a handle on how things work around here. It might make your life a little easier.
I don't get these rules... in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Kyle Gonzalez said:Not gonna happen. 😁

You all know perfectly well that this song is a provocation aimed directly at me, especially since the comment attached to it was "the best way to catch Dedach." For context, Dedach is the guy from my thread "He's married, I'm married..." It has absolutely nothing to do with sex music. Unless that girl is picturing me while she's in bed, then sure, it's about sex. 😁
And over in the off-topic chat, specifically threads 1 through 4, she and harderfaster were dropping Pokémon images alongside comments like "she's not just stupid, she's crazy..."

You need to look at the big picture here. You have to connect the dots between all these different things.
I get that you don't want to deal with the friction between users, but on the flip side, you won't let us settle things ourselves either; instead, you insist on this whole "report the post" bureaucracy.
I haven't been a nuisance; I haven't reported a single damn post in my own thread.
Apparently, I really am crazy and stupid. Well, I guess life is easiest for people like that.
I'm done. There's no point in arguing.

Do you actually grasp that the moderators for ŽUD aren't the moderators for OffTopic, and they have zero connection to that specific chat? Bringing it up is completely irrelevant here; if anything, it just shows you don't really get how an American forum works.

Right. So, I guess we're all supposed to track and memorize every tiny detail from every single user's thread, monitor everyone's interpersonal drama, and then make assumptions about what someone meant during random discussions.
That's just not going to happen.

It’s funny how high and mighty you act. You claim reporting a post is beneath you and brag about never doing it, yet you show up consistently to the PŽK to start threads and demand sanctions. You even go as far as complaining when something wasn't penalized because it was missed, yet calling a report "beneath you" is somehow okay.
You don't understand our rules, and I guess I don't understand your logic.

And I think you've brought up your locked thread enough times already. How many more times are we doing this? Ten?
I locked that thread because it devolved into pure spam and a chaotic chat room, and because the participants showed they had no intention of stopping the spam, even after warnings and mass deletions. Any thread that loses its purpose like that is getting locked.
Gregory Ramirez2 said:I shot Joe a quick DM asking him to grab a word in here.

Joey isn't in charge of LJS—that's on me, I guess. If Nick doesn't like how the LJS mods are handling stuff, she can always step in. But we've made our point.
I don't mean to stir up any unnecessary drama. I guess there isn't even anything to debate here.
Why am I being treated differently than everyone else? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
You got your explanation. We aren't at a flea market.

If you're not feeling the forum, just don't post.
Stupid threads? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Exactly. To start, you should probably read the LES rules regarding how to start a thread.
Until posts actually follow those guidelines—instead of just being based on lines like "my wife won't let me play video games"—they're going to get shut down.

Besides, a thread needs to have actual potential for discussion. Ideally, quality discussion. Yours don't.
Can someone explain this? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
I don't see any point in responding to an appeal written with such blatant disrespect.
And you're still lecturing me on manners.
Just a heads-up, not a complaint in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Carl Fisher7 said:I didn't exactly sit down to psychoanalyze anyone's personal trauma here. I was just responding to what the original poster explicitly shared about themselves. I guess I was just writing about what was already on the table. Mostly just generalizing everything like it applies to everyone. I guess. Maybe.

Not really.

Proof:

Carl Fisher7 said:She summed up her upbringing in just a few words. Honestly, you don't even need to be Freud to see why she made that choice—it seems pretty objective to me. You say there's no need for justification? I guess then why even bring it up or talk about her enrolling there? 🤔 I'm just talking about her, specifically. I'm not generalizing, I guess.

Carl Fisher7 said:I guess you're right about dealing with people on Reddit, and I apologize to Lucid Mynx and you—that wasn't my intention. It just happens that when we talk about her, things get messy. This topic makes it incredibly hard to stay neutral, since people aren't just sharing opinions; they're dumping their personal life stories everywhere. It turns into meddling in people's business pretty fast.

Fine, I’m in. Just watch it—I don't want this turning into some defensive shouting match where I'm forced to justify myself just because things went sideways.
Does anyone actually oversee the moderators? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Henry Evans10 said:Apparently, some people get a pass to write like that while others don't. I guess. 🙂

I honestly don't have the energy to explain this to you anymore. Really.

For those interested, there's been a ton of discussion on the chat today, just like yesterday, so maybe take a look.

So, you drew your big conclusions from the first page of the chat, which was basically just everyone making fun of those liners. Good job.
Does anyone actually oversee the moderators? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
I’m not going through this whole argument again, mostly because I doubt you even realize where we’re missing the mark. It isn't about someone dropping a one-liner here or there. Or three.

The topic itself isn't the issue. The issue is how these threads are being handled.

We already went over this in the chat, so maybe just go back and read it. I really don't feel like repeating myself. Especially since this isn't the first time you've had to be told.
Does anyone actually oversee the moderators? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Henry Evans10, you were one of those people warned less than a week ago.

How many times do we have to explain things to the folks following this chat—who saw the warning and now act like they have no idea what the standard for communication is here?
Can we replace Eowyn FTW with an FBI moderator? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Tyler Patel19 said:Look, how you choose to talk in your actual day-to-day life is entirely up to you—nobody has any right to police your speech out there. But this forum isn't your own private living room, so there’s an expectation that you actually stick to the rules—rules you, by the way, agreed to the second you hit that registration button. Personally, I don't see any issue here.

So, after such a lovely explanation, I suppose I can just add that this chat isn't some unmoderated free-for-all. It's actually the moderators' job to keep things orderly and civil, which is exactly what Eowyn did.
If you aren't a fan of having your posts removed, maybe don't write stuff that deserves deletion and, unfortunately, drives everyone else away from the chat.
Why is Microsoft tolerating this kind of nonsense? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Sarah Stewart72 said:Is there some kind of official rule about this? I guess why even wait 24 hours when the nonsense is right in front of us?

The 24-hour wait exists because moderators aren't online 24/7, nor can they realistically react instantly.

As for the complaints, I don't see the point in throwing out provocations in a thread and then acting shocked when someone fires back—it seems a bit much to demand a penalty for the other person while ignoring your own role in starting it.
Help! Some random person is harassing me in my DMs in Feedback & Suggestions ·
silentgull14 said:I suppose I shouldn't start a whole new thread...

I just got a DM from some complete stranger with a pretty disturbing username... Executioner. I guess. Maybe?
A message arrived that starts out something like this... Hey, silentgull14...

I have no idea why he’d even find me appealing, but if it's because of my posts—I guess—I certainly don't want to end up explaining to my husband why I'm being friendly with some random Executioner. Especially since I haven't given him any reason to be suspicious.
Thanks, but I'm good.

So, I'm checking in... I guess. Just reporting in.

Is this some kind of joke? I guess. Maybe. 🤣
Ignore list in Feedback & Suggestions ·
The whole point of an ignore list is to filter out the noise from people you don't care to read, but I guess as a forum user, you just don't have any say in who gets to post on a thread or not.
Is Reddit dying?! in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Henry Wells5 said:I have a serious bone to pick with how the moderators are running things here. It feels like we’re operating under a kangaroo court where penalties are handed out without any actual reasoning. In a civilized society, when a judge hands down a sentence, they are obligated to cite the specific statute that was violated. I actually had the experience of being penalized without a single explanation. When I asked for clarification on which rule I supposedly broke, the response I got was straight out of a mob rule playbook: "You didn't follow the law." That kind of arbitrary behavior is nothing short of barbaric and pure chaos.

Oh, please, stop lying. It isn't just that multiple moderators explained the ban to you; you were literally given a direct quote from the rules so there wouldn't be any excuses about not knowing which regulation you hit. Plus, they even gave you extra context and instructions on how to actually participate on Reddit.
Question regarding moderation policies in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Dennis Jackson38 said:No problem at all. You will absolutely receive answers to your questions, but I must ask that you present them through the proper channels, which is what I was attempting to clarify in my last two messages. I am genuinely pleased that you finally grasp the underlying logic here; please understand that this doesn't mean you lack the right to information—far from it—it simply means we must follow the established protocol. This is a massive community with a vast amount of activity and inquiries, so structure is essential.

I will address your inquiry regarding the strike right here, but moving forward, if you have any concerns regarding your own standing, please direct those appeals to the official PZK thread. You have every right to do so, and no one is attempting to strip you of that privilege. My previous points were quite straightforward on this matter, so let’s not dwell on the misunderstanding further; my core message remains that individual grievances should be reported via the appropriate venue.

The reason you received a strike is that you chose to comment directly on a moderator's warning to debate its content and validity. Under our community guidelines, discussing moderation actions within general discussion threads is strictly prohibited, and violating that rule results in a strike. It is clearly outlined in the rules.

As for the strike regarding the use of caps lock, that was initially issued in error due to some technical glitches with the device I was using to post. Consequently, it was retracted shortly thereafter so that a corrected strike with the accurate point deduction could be applied properly.

That covers everything. I wish you the very best during your time here on the forum.

This explanation was also included in the PM sent along with the card.
Question about Skoda in Feedback & Suggestions ·
The mods respond when they can. They have actual lives and responsibilities outside of this site; they aren't exactly on call 24/7 to jump on every little thing. Everything being complained about here—moving threads, deleting spam, all that stuff—isn't exactly an emergency that can't wait until someone logs on.

I could get behind the idea that the moderators aren't doing their jobs, but that’s just not true, so I don't really see the point in dragging this whole debate out any further.
