Quick question for you guys in Hobbies & Leisure ·
There’s actually a dedicated thread just for you, so you might want to start scrolling through those archives.

Honestly, looking at your diet, things are a bit of a mess right now. You’re skipping breakfast—which is arguably the most critical meal of the day—and you aren't eating nearly enough often enough. Ideally, you should be aiming for five or six smaller meals throughout the day. A good rule of thumb I've found helpful is to taper off your carb intake as the day goes on; by your last one or two meals, you really shouldn't be touching carbs at all. Beyond the timing, the quality of what you're eating needs work too; you really ought to be prioritizing more lean meats and fresh vegetables.

As for the workouts, it seems like you're making steady progress, even if it's a slow burn.

Those aren't really meal replacements, honestly. You’d be much better off grabbing something with slower-digesting proteins—so, skip the Whey and go for things like eggs or milk instead. I don't want to sound like I'm pitching a specific brand, so you should probably just browse through this thread or check out wherever you usually shop to see what looks good. Just a heads-up, though: watch out for those gainers that are basically just loaded with sugar.

Look, you aren't going to build muscle just by chugging Whey; it all comes down to eating right and actually putting in the work at the gym. To me, Whey is really just a tiny little supplement that helps move things along slightly.

This thread has spiraled into a complete mess of endless chatter, random tangents, and nothing but pure trolling. Locking this now.

Steve, quit trolling 😛

You already got plenty of good advice in the very next post, so I'm locking this thread.

Personally, I always toss at least a pint of water into my shake—usually even more than that... though I tend to knock it back pretty quickly 🤔. At the end of the day, the exact amount of water doesn't really matter (not that I’m suggesting you should drown it in a gallon of water just so you can sip on it all afternoon 🙂).

Look, let’s just be real about it: Herbalife is a total disaster, okay?

Don't go playing fast and loose with your life. That's really all I have to say about it.

Look, if anyone is actually suggesting MuscleTech Nitro-Tech as your go-to post-workout meal, they clearly don't know what they're talking about.

Just so we’re all on the same page—if anyone decides to kick off a debate about steroids, I’m going to be handing out bans like candy. Consider this a fair warning. Anyone who brings them up first gets a minimum 3-day ban from the board.

velvetraven said:Man, it’s like one person is out of touch and the other just doesn't have a clue. These scoops are manufactured to pretty standard specs, so they all grab roughly the same amount of powder. And yeah, two scoops usually lands you right around 30 grams, give or take. Period.

Look, I’ve used everything from massive serving spoons to tiny little teaspoons, and even then, the difference was barely about 50%. You're honestly talking nonsense here.

Well, I actually suggested exactly that about five or six posts back. You clearly haven't been paying attention...

velvetraven said:Thirty grams is basically two big scoops.

Paul Miller64 said:A single scoop is 30 grams.😁

Honestly, these comments are all over the place and pretty useless.

1. Not everyone uses the exact same size scoop.
2. Not everyone uses the same measuring tool.
3. And let's be real, we aren't all drinking the same brand of Protein.

Hannah Wright said:What does 30 grams actually look like? Is it about a spoonful? Like a soup spoon or a coffee spoon?

Honestly, asking that is a bit like asking if a pound of lead is heavier than a pound of feathers. I’d ask you what kind of spoon you’re holding, but that feels like a trap since I can't really give you a straight answer without knowing the density of what you're scooping. If you want to be precise, just grab a kitchen scale, weigh out ten spoonfuls of whatever you’ve been using, and then divide that total by ten. That should give you your magic number.

Honestly, Biotech is absolute garbage—just steer clear of them if you can. You’re much better off putting your money toward some actually high-quality protein instead.

If you're working with a tight budget, there are definitely more affordable ways to go about this, but that’s where things get tricky. You really have to develop an eye for distinguishing between total junk that'll just waste your money and those solid, reliable options that actually hold their own. It's all about figuring out which brands are just flashy marketing and which ones are actually worth the investment. $6.75 Honestly, when it comes to protein, the price gap between brands doesn't really move the needle for me. You aren't going to find a magic formula in those premium labels that justifies the extra cost, so I'd just say save your money and grab some Inkospor.

And you're still out here constantly pushing that Inkospor stuff? Honestly, I don't see what the big deal is. In my book, it isn't even close to being on the same level as Dymatize or Labrada.

electricangler51 said:I could really use a little help and some solid advice here...
I'm 17 years old (about 156 lbs, 6'2") and I just started hitting the gym. It's only been two weeks. I did a bit of digging into protein supplements and ended up picking up some "Protein 80 Plus" from Weider http://www.building-body.com/shop/pr...0_plus_-_doza/. People told me this is the best thing to take right after a workout.

They weren't being entirely honest with you because that isn't actually pure Whey; it's more of a blend of different protein sources, including casein, which digests incredibly slowly. Because of that, it functions much better as a meal replacement than as a post-workout shake. For now, just finish what you bought, but next time, stick to a classic Whey.
Anyone used Prosport? Thoughts? in Hobbies & Leisure ·
rustywalker17 said:But what about the quality? Is it actually on par with those big-name brands everyone shouts about (MusclePharm, Weider...)?

Honestly, MusclePharm is total garbage, and Weider isn't exactly anything to write home about either. They’re definitely in that same tier, though if I had to guess, they're probably even better than those two. 🤣

Jamie Rivera70 said:Isn't that basically the same thing as just mixing some Whey with some Glucose?

Honestly, it’s probably much cheaper to just DIY a combo of Whey and Glucose on your own.
It ends up being way more budget-friendly if you go with 🤷

Not really, though, because there's hardly any actual Whey in there and way too much sugar. If you take a look at the nutritional breakdown on this link that guy posted...
