Daily water intake: Let's discuss in Health ·
Thanks everyone 😘

I knew I wouldn't be able to focus on this once I clocked out of work, so here goes—for about four or five hours straight, I was basically playing a game of "plug my nose and gulp" every single time I had a glass of water.

Ugh... just thinking about it makes me sick 🙂

Before that—just some yogurt and an apple. Then I had two spoonfuls of protein powder... and honestly? It felt a tiny bit better. 😢

Thanks. 😘

I know this might sound ridiculous..🙄 but I’m dealing with this for the second time now..

I spent my whole morning trying to hit my goal of drinking 8 glasses of water.. you know, staying hydrated and all that blah blah blah..

And now? I feel absolutely terrible... and it's not just a stomach ache. I'm sweating, my head is throbbing, I'm shaking all over, and I have zero energy left in the tank..😢

Does anyone actually make sense of this?! What kind of twisted logic connects chugging a ton of water with a total physical disaster right after?
silentowl43 said:Look, I’m no medical professional, but those symptoms sound exactly like what I went through. They diagnosed me with anxiety—not psychosis—but honestly, you can't believe everything you hear from every random person on the street.

Yeah, I'm with you on that one. I don't have a medical degree, but my gut tells me this is all just pure anxiety, tension, and stress...

And the sheer amount of medication they've piled on you? It's enough to kill a horse! 🙄
Steven Collins38 said:I saw a private psychiatrist twice (diagnosis: early-onset psychotic schizophrenia), and they put me on a cocktail of unknown, unknown, and unknown. My GP told me there's no way I need medication that heavy.

Oh, please! What on earth was that doctor thinking?! 😕

Ha! 😁

(They’re watching me... tracking my every move... they want my spinal cord... nobody believes me... they say, "There's nothing in the fridge, you must have missed your meds again!"... but I know the truth... it's all part of one massive conspiracy. But I can't talk about that... I'd have to kill you first...)

You've got to be joking. Seriously?! 😬

Look, I'm not disputing that part, 😉

but if you're claiming things are "dead quiet"... I strongly disagree with the idea that nothing is happening here. 😬

Honestly, my neighbor's dog was practically singing Klingon opera this morning.

Peter Taylor63 said:Sure, a cat could work, though they’re pretty quiet animals. You wouldn't even realize there was a living creature nearby most of the time.

Heh... clearly you haven't met my seronja.😬

Some days I honestly can't tell if there's just a cat running through my apartment or if the entire lineup of The Rolling Stones is practicing in my living room. It's pure chaos.😁

But yeah, the point stands—they can be silent, then affectionate, then suddenly totally feral. They keep you on your toes. Cats are absolute legends.🙂

The folks in this thread pretty much nailed it—TV or radio for background noise (bold that if you need to!) and a pet 🙂

Ever since I can remember, I’ve needed the TV running to drift off. But honestly? Nothing beats the feeling of my cat crawling into bed in the middle of the night and starting to purr against me 🙂

Jamie Clark74 says:

It’s been 13 years (...) now I know I won't drop dead, and things aren't quite the same as they used to be, nor do they happen as often as before, (...).

Basically, over the last 13 years, I’ve gotten my act together so I'm not just some massive burden
to my wife, and I'm living as realistically as possible while still maintaining some quality of life.

So, don't end up like me... (...), but things move faster now and honestly, I'm not afraid of dying anymore.🙂 😉 😎

And Jamie Clark74 😢

I really feel for you... but I pulled some snippets from your post above—just so you can see for yourself how much progress you've actually made over all these years.🙂

Hang in there—good luck.😘

I’ve dealt with my fair share of depression and anxiety, and doctors have thrown antidepressants at me more than a few times... but I never stuck with them for long. Honestly, I just can't stand being dependent on pills. 😢

It was the exact same story with the panic attacks. When they first started hitting, I mentioned it to my psychiatrist during a session, and he prescribed me Xanax and Fevarin. I couldn't handle them for a second. They made me feel completely spaced out at work—I couldn't function at all. So, I just quit taking those too. 🙄

But look, you’ll get through this, trust me. If you take a moment to really dig into what is happening, how it feels, and why it's triggered, most likely you'll be able to pinpoint at least a rough idea of what's causing these attacks. Once you know that, fighting back becomes much easier. 🙂

And hey, if one of those bastards catches you while you're sitting at your computer, just shoot me a quick DM so we can chat. It always helps to talk to someone who actually knows exactly what you're going through in that moment. 😉

restlessmarlin6 said:And you, shree_kali, managed to pull through that without asking for help?

I did. 🙂

Look, I’m telling you—it can still happen, but compared to the absolute nightmare I dealt with last year, I’m handling it just fine now..

It’s probably just some phase triggered by whatever random thing happened, but listen: if getting help would make things easier for you, then go get it! Don't even hesitate for a second!

And man, that feeling is just awful.. grrr.. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. 😢

p.s. (just reading Adam Booth7) And yeah—you trigger the attack yourself.. no problem at all.. the moment you start obsessively thinking about how it’s going to catch you, it starts within minutes.. that’s why I try to force my brain onto something else immediately..
Chicken noodle soup recipe in Health ·
Good grief 😍

You people have totally worked me up about this chicken noodle soup recipe... I’m honestly ready to walk out of the office right now just so I can start cooking it 😁

I think my mom is going to get a two-week ban from the kitchen. She constantly ruins my attempts at making anything decent because she keeps insisting on cooking her own fancy little gourmet dishes, and I just can't help myself when I see it..

I seriously can't wait 🙂

restlessmarlin6 said:I'm back after three months... and I'm starting this thread for a very good reason.

I had a full-blown panic attack last night.😢

No way! I can't believe I'm just seeing this now!
😂 Same boat here. For me—and this developed at the exact same time—it hits whenever my nose gets stuffed up.

It’s unbearable. It feels like I’m actually dying.🙄
There was even a period where they were hitting me several times a day for absolutely no apparent reason. Thankfully, that phase passed.
🙂 (Well, except for the stuff with my nose... I haven't sorted that out yet. As for those panic symptoms you described? I know them all too well. It’s terrifying. I used to literally bolt out of the office and pace around downtown like a maniac. I just couldn't stay still! It’s like I'm running away from something I can't even name.)

It's nasty stuff. Believe me, I know.

restlessmarlin6 said:Lately, things have shifted. I’ve become absolutely consumed by this crushing fear that I’m developing some horrific disease or disorder. Honestly, I even feel these weird physical symptoms that I never noticed before (or maybe I did, but I just brushed them off). Most people deal with stuff like heart palpitations or random aches, but for me, it's terrifying. It’s completely overwhelming. 😲

Dear restlessmarlin6... I dealt with the exact same thing. I can't even be sure if I still struggle with it, but it certainly isn't nearly this intense anymore. 🙂

For me, it was an obsession with cancer. On a daily basis, I would "discover" brand-new tumors attacking my body. It would start ringing in my ears... BRAIN TUMOR! I spent entire days spiraling through medical websites, diagnosing myself with every new illness I could find.

And why stop at cancer? Why not go for a lovely case of cirrhosis! That would suit me perfectly! If I read the symptom list enough times, I'd eventually convince myself they matched my discomfort perfectly. 🙄

Eventually, though, it tapered off. I’ll admit, I went for a few checkups just to ease my mind, and that likely helped the "recovery." Once you realize your blood work is fine, your markers are normal, and your liver is healthy... it forces you to snap out of it a little. Honestly, I truly believe this is just a phase, for you just like it was for me.

As for why this started... well, as I mentioned in that other thread about doctors, I spent two and a half years under the thumb of a gynecologist who basically kept me in a constant state of panic. He kept insisting I might already have cancer, or at least that I was teetering right on the edge of it. I think that drove me insane. Plus, my fiancé passed away from cancer... there's no doubt that played a huge role too.

Just hang in there and focus on getting through it—you will. 🙂 👋
juriel said:Event Horizon is an absolute masterpiece. Seriously, stop wasting your life watching some mediocre Star Trek reruns and go watch it right now.

Seriously, how on earth did you go and slice up your entire arm like that?

So, I just finished watching Event Horizon, and one scene absolutely stuck in my throat. It’s that moment where they play back the recording and realize the transmission isn't actually saying "Save me..." It's actually "Liberate a tu temet ex inferis"—which basically translates to "save yourselves from hell." Talk about a gut punch.

That scene has been haunting me for days. Every single time I glance into a dark corner, that word just flashes in my mind: "Liberate..." 🙄 🙂

We’re finally heading back inside around 1:00 AM... I go to flip on the hallway light, that memory hits me again, and I just lose it. I start screaming, "God dammit, Liberate, you absolute piece of—!" I throw my leg out, trip, and my hand goes flying straight through a pane of reinforced glass. My palm looks like it went through a heavy-duty cement mixer; it’s still a mess of jagged cuts and scars. 🙂

Look, let me put it this way: that movie is officially burned into my brain. I am absolutely NOT forgetting it anytime soon. 😁

George Kelly11 said:If you’ve got the budget for it, I can't recommend Ginić enough.👍

I’ll second that recommendation right now. Honestly, if you want someone who actually knows what they're doing, go see the specialist who finally sorted out my throat issues after dealing with the absolute circus that was Dr. Nizetic. It's a practice called "Ginoderma" over in downtown Chicago, located at 91 Vlaska... wait, let me correct myself—it's on Michigan Avenue. Dr. Ljubojevic runs the place alongside his daughter, Dr. Babic. They are both top-tier. If you're a woman who gets a bit anxious and needs a doctor who is gentle, soft-spoken, and actually takes the time to chat, she's your person. He’s a bit more old-school and blunt, but he's solid.

For me, they are the gold standard.🙂
