So, I’ve got this US dollar account set up, but for some reason, whenever I make a payment in USD, my app keeps showing everything converted into dollars—wait, actually, it shows them in euros instead.

It gets even weirder though, because now that I’ve finally gotten my new card (it’s the exact same one, just a fresh replacement), the app is displaying my actual dollar balance, but then there’s this random $1.50... or rather, 1.50 euro amount just sitting there next to it. I honestly have no clue why there would be any euros appearing on a strictly US dollar account, or why it’s being displayed so separately like that. It’s almost like the app thinks I’m looking at two completely different accounts or something.

does anyone know if there's actually an option to freeze a card through the mobile app? all I can seem to find is where to mess with my daily spending limits, which isn't really what I'm looking for right now...
I honestly feel like it’s kind of significant that this cropped up during pregnancy, mostly because I dealt with something pretty similar back then.
In my case, the diarrhea seemed to be tied directly to some hormonal imbalances, specifically involving reproductive hormones.
Once one of those issues settled down, everything else just sort of fell into place.

I don't really buy the idea that it's just a coincidence that it happened during pregnancy; it feels more like something in my system just got thrown completely out of whack at that time.
I mean, maybe that college just wasn't your scene, you know?
For me, I basically spent four years trying to finish a three-year degree, if that even makes sense.😁
I don't really recall getting any official academic probation or anything like that, I think I was just... exhausted by the whole thing, but it always felt pretty certain that I’d eventually cross that finish line anyway.
So, yeah, I guess it really all depends on which year you ended up repeating.

well, if you aren't dealing with anything else, then yeah, I suppose so.🤷
for me, it’s been dragging on for like three days now.
Does faith in miracles make God? in Spirituality ·
rapidbear65 said:I'm right there with you, colleague. These so-called scientists can spin the same event in a dozen different ways, sneaking their own biases into any part of the story that isn't fully explained yet. Like, take an atheist who suddenly recovers from a terminal illness—would they see it as a gift from God, only to die in a car accident shortly after? Was the healing meant to lead them to God's love before they passed, or was the sudden death some kind of punishment for a sin? Honestly, stuff like that just leaves me totally lost...

But why does everything have to make sense, anyway?😬 That’s kind of where these whole ideas about miracles come from, I guess—it's just that deep-seated human urge to find a reason for everything, to believe there's some grand design behind it all.
And what if he just got healed and then died... without any special reason at all?🤷

A lot of people find that idea pretty hard to swallow, but lately, I'm starting to feel like that might be exactly how it works.🤷

Maybe just grab something to take the edge off. I mean, if your head isn't in the right place, nothing else is really going to touch the sides, I guess.🤷
Does Dramamine actually do anything for you?
If I were in your shoes, I’d probably pair it with a Normabel and things should settle down, hopefully.
The thing is, though, I have no clue if you can even find that around here.😬
I mean, it just makes sense to me that things get a whole lot tougher once you hit a certain age, I guess. You basically have to pick something you can actually master on your own terms without it being a total nightmare.🤷
Plus, most adults probably have actual jobs to worry about, right?🤣
Practice gratitude? in Psychology ·
placidwolf27 said:But grateful for what, exactly? Honestly, things just... happen. They are what they are. I don't really see the point in being thankful to anyone or anything; processes unfold, life moves along its inevitable course, and I am merely a byproduct of those circumstances... so, who exactly am I supposed to be thanking? I certainly didn't ask for permission or request any favors from the heavens...

To be perfectly honest, if my imagination were tasked with drafting a "best-case scenario," it would likely choose to avoid the exercise altogether...

No, they aren't—at least not in any meaningful or rigorous sense. Let's not get ahead of ourselves with pseudo-science...

But what, specifically, or how... what exactly is changing for the better?

Well, nothing really changes, obviously. It’s just that you feel a bit better about things.🤣 Or, I guess, your perception shifts a little.

To me, the whole thing seems pretty pointless, honestly. It feels kind of like practicing forced humility—you know, where people say, "hey, things could always be worse, so let's just be grateful for what we have," regardless of how bad the situation actually is.🤣
Jeffrey Green732 said:I tend to talk a bit faster when I feel like someone might interrupt me, just so I can finish my thought. Generally speaking, I really appreciate concise communication and when people just get straight to the point without beating around the bush.

Yeah, exactly. It honestly drives me up the wall when people tell these massive, winding stories just to get to the actual point.🙄 It’s like they don't even realize there's another way to communicate, you know? They feel the need to recount every single little detail in chronological order—who said what, where they were standing, all that stuff—just so they can finally reach the part they actually wanted to say in the first place.🙏

Are you seriously expecting her cycle to just become regular overnight?😁 I mean, that’s more of an exception than the rule at this stage.
If there aren't any other issues popping up, there really isn't any reason to drag her to the doctors. Honestly, just let the kid be. I actually kept my own period a total secret for an entire year, just so nobody would get any bright ideas about dragging me to a gynecologist or something.
I’m honestly not even sure where to start with this one, maybe just throwing it out there into the void.🙄
Is it actually possible to get certain tests done without a doctor's referral—you know, just paying out of pocket—within the public healthcare system?
The thing is, these specific tests seem to be handled exclusively by public facilities, since private clinics don't even offer them.
Does anyone know if there's any way to make that happen?
Best meds for anxiety, jitters, and tremors? in Psychology ·
hiddeneagle98 said:Hypertension?

For me, it worked perfectly to block that "nervous edge"; that’s why I tried it. It’s almost like it could sense those moments when I was about to start freaking out and just stepped in to stop it. It isn't a perfect "clean" fix—because if it were truly perfect, I wouldn't even realize I was *supposed* to be feeling anxious in the first place—but it does the job. Compare that to Xanax, where I won't even get angry, let alone realize at the exact moment I should be losing my cool, which is basically like missing the anxiety altogether.

But from what I can see, most people use it for stage fright; I haven't really seen anyone using it for exams.

When it comes to exams, though, I see way more people turning to stimulants. Personally, that just makes everything worse for me...🤷

tachycardia😁

Maybe I'm just an extreme case or something, so maybe it didn't do much for me.🤣
And Xanax just puts me right to sleep. For me, Paxil ended up being the best bet.

Wait, works for what exactly? I was taking it for something else entirely as part of my prescription, but it didn't do a single thing for my nerves.🤷 My heart rate definitely slowed down, I guess, but my brain still felt totally fried, so I still ended up bombing my exam regardless.
Earring issues in Health ·
So, I’ve been wearing earrings for like fifteen years now, and honestly, I’ve tried pretty much every style imaginable without ever having an issue. But lately, over the last couple of years, things have just... shifted.🤷Now, I can barely stand them; my ears get all red and irritated out of nowhere. Is it actually possible for this kind of sensitivity to just show up out of thin air, and if so, why would that happen?
I also had some pretty heavy health issues right before this started, and even though I'm past that stage, I feel like my whole system has stayed somewhat "altered," if that makes sense. Could this earring thing be some kind of lingering side effect from everything my body went through?🤷

Sarah White50 said:- I’ve been reading up on PTSD, but honestly, I don’t see myself in it. I think I can rule that out. Thank God I didn't lose anyone during the war; everyone made it through, (psychologically speaking, maybe not) but we’re alive and we’ve rebuilt everything we lost. What I feel like I actually lost was my childhood. I’ve already analyzed that—why sometimes I still act like a kid, needing that playful energy or looking for protection and comfort. It’s like I grew up being totally detached from my parents, stuck in this "I can do everything myself" mindset, but then the second things go sideways, I run straight back to them, while simultaneously blaming them for my own choices.

- Regarding the stuff about self-confidence and my parents: they were strict, sure, but they raised me right. They pushed me to be a good student, to handle things independently, and to find logical solutions. Maybe it was "tough love" at times, but the intention was good. There were periods where I absolutely hated them because I wasn't allowed to do anything and they restricted me constantly (which, let's face it, every teenager thinks), but looking back now, I’m grateful they didn't let me spend my weekends acting like a total wreck at clubs and drinking all night. Not that I missed out entirely, though; I moved abroad when I was 19 and made up for it all during my college years. Plus, I had the drive to work while studying, finance myself, and stay on track to graduate on time. Which just goes to show that I still have some restraint—I know when to pull back instead of acting like a loose cannon. They never disrespected or belittled me, but they always had this attitude: "Don't aim too high, don't fly too close to the sun, or you'll crack your head open." Don't get ahead of yourself. Life will teach you how to stay humble. This mostly came up when I'd get these bursts of excitement and want to change the world, fight injustices, or swim against the tide. They'd basically tell me I couldn't change anything. Which, as it turns out, was pretty accurate; whenever I tried to stand up for someone being stepped on or treated unfairly, those idiots would actually side with the aggressors if I intervened. They won't even help themselves; they just go with whatever power is strongest. Maybe all those little phrases meant to ground me are why I’m not as enthusiastic or ambitious as I could be, or at least why I keep my goals within the realm of what's realistic.

Oh, you can bet on that. My mom was raised with that exact same mindset. Honestly, she never really knew how to stand up for herself, and I think she didn't even hit half of what she was actually capable of.
Man, it actually makes me feel kind of sick just thinking about her parents and how much they pushed that whole "don't rise above" philosophy.🙄
People always start droning on about personality traits and stuff, but if we're being real, it’s mostly just physical appearance that hits you first, and honestly, that plays such a massive role in whether we actually vibe with someone or not.🤷
I mean, you don't even need to know a single thing about who they are; you can just take one look at them and decide, I guess, that they're totally unlikable right off the bat.😁
Dealing with bad cramps? in Women's Health ·
melloworca6 said:I think people say you should start taking magnesium a few days before your period hits, supposedly that’s when it works best. 🤷 I haven't tried that yet, though I really should. On that first day, I usually just knock back a couple of Advil and some Buscopan throughout the day. I'm not a huge fan of it, honestly—I hate feeling like I have to constantly shovel pills down my throat.

But then again, magnesium can have a bit of a laxative effect, too.🤣 So I definitely don't want to deal with that... especially for someone like me who deals with diarrhea at the same time as their period.😢
