That seems a bit harsh, if you ask me.

The first half—before Višnjić's character shows up and we see fewer members of the monastery—is definitely slower, but I'd probably give the whole thing a 6.5/10, maybe.

The soundtrack is pretty good, though.

There isn’t a single shred of horror to be found here, honestly; it was just a tedious, mindless slog through a pretty dumb plot.

It's a film that you could probably comfortably consider part of the Hellraiser franchise. 👍

The film's story would differ from the original film, as Lussier and farmer did not Want to retell The original Story out of respect for Clive Barker's work. The film was to instead focus on the world and function of the puzzle box. Lussier and farmer dismissed The notion of a teen-oriented Hellraiser film, stating "if we do Hellraiser, it's rated R; if they want to do PG-13 then they have to get rid of us". In 2011, farmer confirmed that both He and Lussier were no longer attached to the project.

Nivola carries the weight as the lead, doing what he can, and Farmiga is decent enough. I guess the movie was alright enough_; just keep an eye out to see how they wrap things up 👍; the ending and the whole explanation is 👎 but I don't really regret sitting through it

Just finished the sequel; I guess it’s a decent enough way to kill about an hour and a half, if you've got nothing better to do.

I feel like all these movies are basically clones and you forget them immediately; honestly, I can barely tell the difference between The Exorcist, Insidious, or the Sinister series anymore, especially when it's always the same actor
There isn't anything truly "scary" about these flicks; they just toss in a few jump scares here and there, but that’s a far cry from actual good horror that sticks with you.

I guess it looks fine, we'll just have to see how it plays out

I guess we might finally get a look at the trailer soon, though I wouldn't exactly hold my breath given how much they love to drag things out.

I caught a glimpse of the sequel yesterday, and I have to say, it wasn't really my cup of tea; I guess the original was just significantly better

It was actually a pretty fun movie, I guess.
