Trolling in the "NASCAR" subforum - thread #2 in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Hasn't every single one of us poked fun at someone's mom in one way or another?
And who among us actually got penalized for it?

A classic example would be that last warning card.

stormybadger8 said:I’m sorry that you aren't responding to warnings—or rather, that you're reacting so poorly to them. It's a shame, because if this keeps up, I suspect your next thread will just be a continuation of this topic.
Honestly, I don't see the point in issuing warnings or cards anymore when you clearly don't take them seriously.🤷

I find subtle threats quite amusing.

As for taking things seriously? How am I supposed to take advice from someone whose opening line is "Man, I feel bad for you"?

Following up on a topic I never received an answer to

Unbelievable. Once again, a moderator—different this time, stormybadger8—is sticking to his usual routine, handing out warnings to me while leaving everyone else alone:

Case number one: someone accuses me of trolling and being a jerk. Someone who actually tells me, "Jason Campbell70, I honestly feel so sorry for you"😢"

Everyone else is making fun of my mom too (including stormybadger8), yet somehow, I'm the only one getting penalized?

Case number two: Is mocking New York City considered trolling?
By whose standards, if not stormybadger8's?

How is it that previous posts mocking New York City haven't faced any consequences?

stormybadger8 keeps handing me these baseless warnings, all stemming from that first time we clashed in our little sub-forum "championship."

And for the record, he isn't above trolling in the more constructive threads either.

It’s interesting that his main sponsor is Kreator (Štetner). They clearly aren't exactly swimming in cash, considering what they still owe Jergović.

I read somewhere that Saša Radola needed 400,000 euros for a season in the FIA Formula 2 World Championship. Naturally, that money never materialized.

Still?

Nobody is stopping anyone. Even the security guards at the ramps just give you a nod. 😁

Seems like everyone is finally "kicking off the season."

What do you mean, a break?
The only reason I haven't been out is because the weather was absolute garbage for a couple of weeks with all that snow. 🙂

Though, I know plenty of people who were out riding even then. 🙂

It doesn't really slide, but you have to be careful not to catch the nose on the doorframe if you have a larger nose, like me 🤷

So you're saying it won't slide down the frame when a typical American tries to use it?

And if the tip of the nose catches on the frame, it might just split the wood wide open. 🙂

It’s probably better you figured that out on your own rather than having someone snap at you like that.

The rod has a rubber coating, but I wouldn't bet on it staying put against the pole.
If I were you, I'd just drive two screws in from the side to give the rod some actual stability.
You could probably find something similar at Walmart for about $17 a couple of weeks ago.

100% Gold Standard Whey or Dymatize Elite Whey?

Thanks.

Dymatize, MusclePharm, Optimum Nutrition, Ultimate Nutrition, Weider... honestly, does it even matter to you? Aside from the flavor, color, or smell—all those minor details—you aren't going to notice a real difference between two different whey proteins. Whey is just whey. 🙂

Why did everything start moving this way? Hamilton's.Look, you're the one who shifted this whole conversation toward Alonso. Why don't you go back and actually read my first post on the matter?☕

Not happening, I'm afraid. 🙂

You posted the link to Alonso's statement, only to have everyone laugh at him.

Even if that statement is true and realistic, isn't it?

stormybadger8 Asks:
Of course it is. ☕Who says otherwise?🙄
I keep insisting that Alonso and Sebastian Vettel have already proven themselves, while Hamilton hasn't. Haven't they?

Then what's the point of all this?
stormybadger8 said:If Alonso moves to Toro Rosso or Williams, then fine. They can sit there together and sing the same old song about how they’re capable of winning even in mediocre cars.

And all this noise about how Alonso doesn't understand what it means to win in a bad car.

What's wrong with that? It’s not just incorrect—you completely missed the mark on this one. 🙂
Alonso basically invented winning in a junker just to make it look good for Sebastian Vettel. You know, that one podium Vettel grabbed during a rainy race on a track that doesn't even suit today's cars? Yet, somehow, people act like that single win carries more weight than nine straight seasons of consistent podium finishes. Makes sense, right?

Failure. In the same league as Vettel's sunglasses:

stormybadger8 said:Sebastian Vettel proved the same thing, but Lewis Hamilton didn't.
Ferrari was never a worse car than the Renault 2008, let alone compared to the Toro Rosso 2008 or the Renault 2009.☕

Look, I’m not talking about Hamilton. 🙂
No matter how hard you try to derail this conversation onto a side track, we're leaving Hamilton out of this.

stormybadger8 said:Who says he didn't?
Jarno Trulli even won races in that same '03 and '04 car.
That car wasn't anything close to the level of a Toro Rosso; if anything, it was on par with a modern Ferrari, or at worst, a Mercedes.

You're equating nine years of consistency with a single podium back in '08. Nice. 🙂

stormybadger8 said:I'm not saying Alonso is bad, or that he wouldn't be capable of grabbing podiums and even wins in a worse car.
Of course he would. In fact, he's proven several times now that he can do it—especially in 2008 and 2009. And in '03 and '04, he was exceptionally good.

Just a moment ago, you weren't saying that:
stormybadger8 said:maybe Hamilton and Fernando Alonso should just go join Toro Rosso or Williams and sing their own praises about how they can win in mediocre cars.

Make up your mind. Is Alonso capable of winning in a bad car, or isn't he? 🙄

stormybadger8 said:I’d love to see what the rest of the lineup looks like at Ferrari—imagine having Sergio Perez and Kobayashi in there alongside Lewis Hamilton. Wouldn't that be something? If both Alonso and his teammate end up at Toro Rosso or Williams, they might as well just sit there and sing songs about how they can win in mediocre cars.

What are you even talking about?

The 2008 season?

What about the '03 season? Or maybe '04? How about '09?

Look, we’re talking about a driver who hasn't missed a podium in nine seasons. Just think about that.

Has Fernando Alonso lost his mind? What is he even thinking?
Can someone please explain to me when the McLaren was ever a worse car than the Toro Rosso?🙂
And since when was the STR capable of consistently grabbing 6th place?🤣

If this really is his statement, then 🤦 he’s talking pure nonsense.
Look, I get that fans talk trash, but an actual F1 driver spouting such stupidity? I just don't get it.🤷

I'm hoping this is just some fabrication by Spanish journalists or perhaps a simple case of bad translation by our local media.

"We'll see how he performs once he has a car capable of finishing sixth. We'll see if he can take second, third, or fourth places then. So far, we've only seen him in the fastest car, the one that secured the title with five races left in the season," Fernando Alonso added. "So, we have to wait."

I'm not sure where you're getting those comparisons between the McLaren and the Toro Rosso from regarding previous seasons.

Even Jacques Villeneuve fought for the title in his rookie year and won it the next. 😍
To secure a championship, you don't necessarily need the best driver on the grid if you have the clearly superior car. Even an average driver would suffice.

Sebastian Vettel broke plenty of records, sure, but he won those titles in a car that was undeniably the best on the track. It was simply the best.

brightranger43 said:Granted, when choosing between a headband or a hat, maybe a hat is better. It’s vital to protect your sinuses, not just your ears—like you would when running—because at higher speeds, your body loses heat much faster.

For me, a headband covers just as much as a hat does. Forehead, temples, ears, eyebrows. The hair stays exposed, sure. But ice gets caught there too. 😁Doesn't bother me, though. It would be worse if my head started sweating under a hat.

I've never had sinus issues, nor do I want them. I'm not sure if a hat would actually make a difference for the sinuses. 🤷

brightranger43 said:What about a scarf, a buff, or a ski tube? That cold breeze hitting the back of my neck... it really bothers me. My beard ends up frozen.

I have a "ski shirt" (from Walmart, just like everything else 😁) with a collar that stands up.
Pair that with an outer cotton hoodie, and nothing hits my neck.

Amanda Lopez95 said:And goggles. 👍

Picked some up at Walmart—orange lenses, with that foam padding around the eyes... it's the first time I haven't been "crying" while riding my bike. And it's freezing today.
The only issue is they fog up when I stop at traffic lights. But while I'm moving, they're perfect.
Finally, I won't be dealing with irritated eyes this winter... 😍

I wrote those down and accidentally deleted them while editing.

I also have goggles from Walmart. 😁
Interchangeable lenses (orange, plus two pairs for sunny weather). They protect against wind, cold, and even bugs. 😁

Now I just need to worry about a pebble flying into my eye.

Without goggles, I definitely don't even consider riding.

cosmicscout9 said:Clothing-wise? I wore cycling shorts, some long military-style pants, and a pair of "light" ski pants. They aren't thick per se; the fabric itself is actually quite thin, but there's a mesh lining on the inside that does a great job at regulating temperature. For my upper body, I layered a cycling jersey under a standard long-sleeve shirt, topped off with a Mount Everest jacket—not one of those massive heavyweights, just a medium-weight one with fleece lining.
On my feet, just regular socks and winter boots, and honestly, I wasn't cold at all. As for my head, I had a scarf around my neck (though next time I'll need to tighten it more; it was actually choking me a bit), a simple bandana wrapped over my ears, and a hat. You shouldn't just grab any old knit cap, though; you need something thicker. And glasses. Just some basic ones from Walmart...

If I dressed like that, I’d be sweating like a pig. 😁

If you’re riding in the winter, the most important thing is decent gloves so your fingers don't freeze. You also need some kind of headgear to protect your ears—maybe even just a headband, as long as those ears are covered.
And then there's the shoes. You really want something without any holes in them. 😁
Personally, I stick with running shoes. They're lightweight and breathable, and I've never actually had an issue with frozen toes or feet.

Let's be real: warming up your fingers is nearly impossible. Fingers on your feet? That's a massive struggle. And ears are tough, too.

Everything else usually stays warm enough. And if you do start feeling the chill? Just pedal a little faster. 😁
