Today was absolute madness 😁

130kg x 1 (My spotter helped me through the initial lift, then I took over. It felt surprisingly smooth. Did they help much? Hard to say, but it wasn't much, and I'm still not counting this as a true successful rep. Still, it’s a step up from last time 🙂 )

Then I moved into my standard sets

10x100 kg
8x100 kg
7x100 kg
6x100 kg
5x100 kg

None of those sets were even close to failure. I had plenty of gas left in the tank to push out one more rep, but I haven't been practicing that lately.
Next session, I'm hitting 5 sets at 110 kg and seeing how far I can go.

The rest of the workout:
5 sets of dips
3 sets of EZ bar overhead tricep extensions
3 sets of close-grip bench press
What would the weight ratio look like for bench/squat/deadlift?

Just some kind of average

Hit the gym today to test out 130 kg, just to get a feel for the load.

Spotter was on standby for assistance....

I got it up.

But my Spotter kept a hand under the bar the whole time. Even if he claims he wasn't actually helping, I'm not counting this as a successful 130 kg lift.😁

Tried hitting 130 on the bench press today.

It didn't happen.😢

Later, I figured out why.
My technique was off; I was dropping the bar too high, right toward my neck.

Back at it tomorrow.🙏

Timothy Chase91 said:Stop training to failure on every single set.

I don't.

Timothy Chase91 said:Don't just stick to the same reps and sets every time. That's not how training works—you need variety.
Because if you don't change things up, your body adapts too fast. You have to shock the system eventually.

I follow that rule.

Timothy Chase91 said:goldenfox24 asked a solid question. I know what he's getting at. Your bent-over rows should ideally match your bench press. That’s the sweet spot.

I'm not sure what my max is for bent-over rows. I don't typically test a true 1RM for that movement, though it's definitely lower than my bench.

The last two days:
Push day: bench press, dips, a few sets of tricep extensions, and finished off with close-grip bench.
The heavy hitters were the bench and the dips.
Six sets of bench press:

8x220 lbs
7x220 lbs
6x220 lbs
5x220 lbs
5x220 lbs
4x220 lbs

Five sets of dips.

Pull day:
Main lifts:
5 sets of bent-over rows (😁🤣)
5-6 sets of deadlifts.

Skipped the lat pulldown machine entirely.😁

Secondary work—variations of dumbbell curls and straight bar curls.

In my view, significant muscle mass is built by moving heavy weight, primarily through compound movements. And vice versa.

When you're training, do you push for max weights? Do you opt for lower rep ranges instead of sticking to the standard bodybuilding protocol of 6 to 8 reps?

Right now, my main focus is hitting a 300-pound bench press. (I'm currently sitting at a 120 kg 1RM 😳).
I'm convinced that once I hit that objective milestone, there will be a massive, visible impact on my physique—even if you can't measure aesthetics with a scale.

Because of this, I’ve been structuring my last few sessions around heavier loads and fewer repetitions.

What are your thoughts? 😁
People act all sophisticated, claiming they don't listen to Thompa and looking down on him, yet they think sticking a cork up their ass is some kind of peak artistic or musical experience.

What a bunch of absolute idiots. 🙄

Just bench presses and protein 🙏
I went through something pretty similar a few months back.
I hit my opponent with everything I had during a tackle.
He didn't feel a thing, but I could barely walk.

When I finally took off my shoe and sock, I actually got a bit spooked—anyone who’s ever had a nail ripped out knows how nasty that looks. My big toe nail was completely bruised and blue.

I had to take a break from soccer for about two months while the nail slowly started detaching from the toe.
Eventually, it just fell off without any pain.

The new one hasn't fully grown back yet, even though the old one came off at least six months ago.
If the nail just falls off on its own, you're lucky. That’s easily the least painful way it goes.

But if they have to rip it out? Believe me, you’ll be cursing your own cheapness for trying to save a few hundred bucks.

It hurts like hell, and honestly, even the anesthesia barely touches it.

So, just buy some new cleats. Give your foot, your toe, or whatever part of the nail is trashed a few days of rest until the pain and bruising die down.

What's your max push-up count? in Hobbies & Leisure ·
Nicholas Kern90 said:I’d love to actually see a video from one of these guys claiming they can hit 50+ pushups.

Everyone here is just a tank. 🙂

Is 50 reps really such an impossible number to reach?

For instance, hitting 40 pushups is basically the baseline to pass the physical fitness test for the National Guard (that nets you 60 points; I pulled 80 on my last assessment).
I'll double-check the exact rep count later.

60-70 standard reps🤷 I don't think I even pushed myself past that point

And maybe around 40 when I elevate my feet

With my palms at a medium width, though personally, I find it easier when my hands—well, my palms—are set a bit wider

The Formula 1. @Life forum editorial board will be the best judges of how accurate your claims actually are.

@Life is a highway - I wasn't referring to Rain.😉

I meant his former friend 😉

Enough spamming this thread.
I don't care about the opinions of permanently banned users. And I assume the forum editorial board doesn't either.
@Bellwether - thanks.🙂

Rainmator? Is that it? Just one word. A bit cryptic, isn't it? What exactly are we discussing here? Does anyone have more context? The user said:
And all those clones Haras uses to flood the F1 PDF? They just aren't enough for you, are they? 😕

I have no idea what you're talking about.

Ever since I was banned from the NASCAR subforum, I haven't posted a single thing using any burner accounts. The mods can check the logs themselves if they need to.

Honestly, your writing style reminds me a lot of one problematic forum user who ended up getting a permanent ban. 😉

I think a one-year sentence is plenty.😢
I also believe everyone deserves a second chance.😢
Especially me. A true student and admirer of everything regarding The Greatest of All Time. 🙏

I am writing to the Reddit editorial team regarding Reddit, specifically addressing the moderator of the "Formula 1" sub-section, Sega.
I am submitting > to have my access to that specific sub-forum restored.

It has been over a year since I was barred from the "Formula 1" section.

During that period, I believe the previous moderator was also removed due to poor performance, along with other disciplinary actions—the site admins will know exactly what I mean.

A year has passed. In all that time, I’ve only received a few minor warnings, nothing that warranted a permanent ban.😢

Formula 1 is entering a new era. Why shouldn't the "Formula 1" sub-forum do the same?🙏

My timing isn't accidental; it coincides with the return of The Flying German, the Red Baron, the fastest man on the track, and the greatest driver in history, the great Michael Schumacher.

I ask that you grant me a second chance. I want to join the rest of the community in celebrating the new victories of our beloved, unrivaled seven-time world champion, the great Michael Schumacher.

As a dedicated fan and someone who deeply understands the career of the great of the greats, I would be eternally grateful.

Hoping for a swift resolution,
Sincerely,
Jason Campbell70🙂
