Well, there you go. I'm wondering if by "unclean skin" you mean those million tiny little bumps that feel like sandpaper under your fingers. If so, your skin is probably just dehydrated. Try using a gentle exfoliant maybe 3 or 4 times a week—just use light strokes—or honestly, just finish every shower with an exfoliating glove or a small washcloth. Then, slap on a heavy-duty moisturizer. It could also be sweat irritation, but that's a whole different headache.
it all depends on a lot of things. like how old you are. if you're over 35, a heavy smoker, or have family history with clogged arteries, you're basically in the danger zone.
The body eventually just gets used to being in a broken state. That doesn't mean it's actually healthy or doing okay. Just reacting to what was said above about "knowing people who barely drink any water and still function fine."
And honestly, overdosing on water is just as bad as staying dehydrated. It’s mostly because you're absolutely wrecking your kidneys.
I've been meaning to sit down and watch this movie lately. You guys seriously need to check out Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind if you haven't yet.
It’s never too late, Rutvice. I haven't listened to Nick Drake in at least a year, so thanks for the reminder. It's such a waste of talent, though—he just vanished right after dropping those few masterpieces. But you're spot on about everything he said. That talent, that voice... and that look. Nick was pure eye candy.
It doesn't necessarily mean you've got hemorrhoids. Hard stools can cause minor bleeding too. Don't sweat it. And if things are inconsistent, it's usually just stress or a crappy diet. Drink plenty of fluids and grab some prune juice. It actually works.
Salty snacks for low blood pressure. Obviously. It’s not even about the snack itself, it’s just the salt. Salt is great when your pressure is bottoming out. If you ever heard people with high BP say they need to dodge salt, just know it’s our best friend.
I've been dealing with low blood pressure for years, so here's what I've learned from living through it.
It hits me hardest in the morning. If my phone rings or someone knocks and I jump out of bed too fast, I practically collapse. I've trained myself to sit up first, chill there for maybe 5-10 seconds, then slowly stand up and grab a glass of water. Best way to start the day. If you're a coffee person—go for it. One cup in the morning or just getting moving helps. I do yoga, so I usually knock out a few Sun Salutations to wake up. Moving your body is huge if you have low BP. Any kind of sport, cycling, running, walking, aerobics, yoga—just move.
Salt your veggies, meat, fish... you actually need more salt. And drink at least 2 liters of water a day, spread out evenly.
As for periods, losing blood makes you feel weak and lightheaded—could be an iron deficiency. Eat red meat, liver, beets, have some red wine, or honestly, just grab some iron supplements and take them as needed.
Brenda Rodriguez17 says she always keeps chocolate on hand. That’s more about sugar crashes than blood pressure. Even so, chocolate isn't really the fix because while it spikes your sugar fast, it crashes just as quickly. To avoid that, just carry some fruit and eat it before you feel like passing out. It’ll steady your sugar better and keep it there longer than candy will.
Matthew Barney is a straight-up genius. I’ve always had a thing for minds like his. 🙂 I caught one of the films from the Cremaster trilogy a while back, but with all five hitting the local film fest this year, I went ahead and grabbed tickets for almost all of them. I'm skipping the one that runs nearly three hours, though—just don't have the bandwidth. There are way too many other indie flicks in the lineup worth checking out since they aren't playing in regular US theaters. Tried hunting down a DVD online, but no luck so far.
Daniel Lopez said:I guess I’m actually not normal. Just watched this movie and now I have this insane urge to just pack up and go there...
And for those calling the karaoke scene stupid... you just don't get it. 🙄
That scene wasn't STUPID to me. It was just dumb how they sang several whole songs—wasting at least 10 minutes of screen time. I didn't fall asleep, if that's what you mean.
Just gonna give you a quick rundown of my thoughts.
1. The movie's alright. Nothing to write home about, though. 2. Honestly, I don't think it deserves all the "masterpiece" hype it got. It jacked up my expectations way too high, which is probably why I felt let down. 3. The Virgin Suicides—her debut—was much better and more original, and it didn't get nearly as much credit. Again, just compared to this one. 4. Great soundtrack and solid acting.
