Happy Anniversary to the forum! in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Well, you certainly read that 😁
correctly. November 28, 2002 marks the day this version of the forum officially launched. 🎉
If I recall, the IMF forum actually got things moving about three years prior to this.
Here we have the very first thread ever opened on this platform.

Happy anniversary to Reddit! 🎉
Can I get a perm? Thanks! in Feedback & Suggestions ·

The permaban? I'll pay you for it.

Whoa... my first bribe attempt.😁

I’m going to have to decline.

I'd rather not start a whole new thread over this.👋

Like I already mentioned over on the US chat,

A permanent ban isn't something you can just request.

As far as I'm aware, the longest suspension you can pull is two years.

Short and sweet.🙏

I’m counting down the days.👋

cosmicgull52 said:Are all the moderators Blackface??? 🤔

Right. And I suppose all the supermoderators red and all the Admins are purple too.

EDIT: My mistake. I was referring to the fact that all the moderator usernames are displayed in black.
It had absolutely nothing to do with skin color.

cosmicgull52 said:I’m suggesting we prevent this kind of confusion moving forward. We should find a way to mark the moderator—maybe next to their handle or under their avatar—so people can actually tell them apart from the regular users. Something like a "Moderator" tag in the signature or a specific icon. I have no idea if that’s technically feasible on this platform, but it would help. 🤷

That was likely sarcasm, though I suppose one can never be too certain.
The moderator's username is black; that’s how you distinguish them from the rest of us.

Google is down again. Typical.

Sam Diaz2 said:The inability to search my own threads—or anyone else's for that matter—is becoming a genuine nuisance. I'm trying to track down a specific point I made just a few days ago, and I'm hitting a wall. It’s like being stuck in a library where all the index cards have been tossed in the trash; if a user references something they said five pages back, what am I supposed to do? Scroll endlessly like a man possessed?
I doubt this has anything to do with the temporary search outage we're experiencing.

"Sam Diaz2, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation."

The search function is offline.

In favor of opening up.👍
Movie recommendations: American film industry in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Would a subforum like that even survive? There's a reason discussions about the American film industry tend to fade into obscurity—hardly anyone ever posts about them.

Larry Walker24 said:It isn't just about getting banned; sometimes they hand out partial suspensions on the PŽK too.

The only ban I ever actually pulled on this forum was from the PŽK.
Honestly, I earned it.
Question about the moderator in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Nicholas Barnes74 said:Quick question here—I can't seem to hit the ignore button on bluemason3 because it keeps telling me they're an admin.
I don't see any specific admin badge anywhere, though... so I guess what I'm wondering is, is that a one-time thing where someone acts as an admin, or does it mean they're always an admin, or a moderator, or whatever else?

The rules are simple: you cannot ignore moderators, super-moderators, or administrators.

What’s the deal with that?
I know accounts don't just get deleted here.

They've been banned.
And you can't message anyone who's been banned.

Samuel Turner2 said:Look, the title of this thread is "Why is the government establishment pushing vaccinations?"
There’s already a separate thread titled "The Search for Reasons vs. Conspiracy Theories."
As far as I can tell, those are two distinct conversations.
If someone drifted off-topic, the solution was to move the post or issue a warning—not to shut down the whole discussion just because a moderator decided they couldn't be bothered to moderate...

How are they separate? Just take a look at some of the options in the poll:

a global conspiracy with an even more sinister endgame

splitting the profits from vaccine sales with Big Pharma

What exactly do you call that if not a conspiracy theory?
