Cast: Lee Pace, Susan Sarandon, Frank Langella, Susan Sarandon, Hope Davis
So, as of right now, we don't actually have an official release date on the books for this one. But honestly, since it's being helmed by this lady, shouldn't we just assume it's going to be solid? Even if it's technically a TV movie, I have a feeling she'll make sure it hits all the right notes, don't you think?
driftingmarlin4 said:I mean, I’ve always thought Jason Sudeikis was hilarious on Saturday Night Live, but honestly, even he couldn't save this movie for me—I just couldn't sit through the whole thing. It felt so mindless and silly, and it looks like Owen Wilson is still stuck in that loop where he plays basically the exact same character over and over again after fifteen years.
Now that I've had a second to actually think about it, maybe they really should have just cast someone else for that role altogether.
Man, the trailer looked pretty promising and I was definitely hoping for a solid flick, but honestly? This turned out even better than I ever expected. It’s such a killer thriller/drama about a guy just trying to survive against the elements. I mean, surviving out in the wild when you're banged up is no joke. It's truly man vs nature in the most literal sense, which felt like such a breath of fresh air for the genre—definitely one of the more gripping movies I've seen in the last couple of years.
The cinematography was absolutely stunning, Adrien Brody gave a powerhouse performance, and honestly, the entire cast killed it. The atmosphere was spot on—I’d even go as far as saying it was incredible—and the plot kept me hooked the whole way through... all in all, just a really great movie!
Pulp Fiction, The Fifth Element, and Sin City—I finally added them to my watchlist, so they should be up next in the next week or so.
Honestly, it’s been way too long since I sat down to watch a Bruce Willis movie, and I really need to fix that, right? It just so happens that I'm actually in the mood for these three specifically!
We’re officially counting down—less than 30 days until the big premiere! 👍
So, what do you guys think? Is this one gonna be a total flop, just okay, or actually better than the ones we saw before? 🤷 I mean, honestly, I’m not holding my breath for it to be any better than the previous movies... at most, it might just be a step down, but hey, who knows? Maybe they'll actually pull a fast one on us and surprise everyone. 😉
So, I ended up marathon-watching War of the Worlds and The Peacemaker today since I was working through some stuff and couldn't sleep for the life of me—just a total "exhausted" movie doubleheader.
Honestly, War of the Worlds is one of my absolute favorite alien attack flicks; I don't think it's better than the original, but it definitely isn't worse either, so they both sit right at the top for me.
As for The Peacemaker, man, that is easily one of my all-time favorite action movies ever. The action sequences are just killer, and that high-speed chase involving the greatest car in history? It's freaking incredible—there’s nothing quite like watching a Mercedes-Benz in full action mode. Plus, let's be real, Nicole Kidman is hands down the best actress and most stunning woman on the planet, and she is especially sexy in this one.
Kevin Ward3 said:Then why even start this thread if kids aren't allowed to comment anyway🤷(unless there's some random six-year-old registered here), Spy Kids was total garbage to me even when I was a kid☕.
Look, I started this whole thread for my own sake, and for anyone else out there who's like me 😂 because honestly, sometimes I feel like a total six-year-old myself and just want to sit down and watch a kid's movie. 😉
Wait, you were actually a kid back in 2001? Man, how old are you even? 🤷
So, I finally sat down and watched What Lies Beneath (2000) the other day, and man, let me tell you—it was such a ride! Honestly, it’s a killer horror flick, easily an 8/10 in my book. Have you ever seen one of those movies that just gets under your skin like that? It really gripped me!
Matthew Watson11 said:Oh man, this is just awful. Here we go again, another one!
Look, you know how my grandpa thinks Predator, Terminator, and Alien are terrible movies? Well, he’s eighty years old, so it totally makes sense that they aren't really his thing, but to me? They’re absolute masterpieces...
It’s the exact same deal with Spy Kids—it isn't exactly meant for people over twelve, let alone adults, right? That's why you see all these negative comments, because most of the people hanging out on this forum are probably well over twenty, whereas for a little kid who's seven, eight, nine, or ten, Spy Kids is basically a cinematic masterpiece...
I mean, I'm twenty-seven myself, but hey, sometimes that inner kid just takes over and I find myself sitting down to watch a movie made for children.
Get ready, because "Spy Kids 4" is actually bringing scents to the theater!
And when I say 4D, I’m totally not kidding, okay? It turns out Robert Rodriguez is really leaning into that "Aromascope" thing, which means you’ll actually be able to smell stuff while watching in the cinema! Can you even imagine how wild that's going to be?

Jeffrey Howard79 said:Man, I am dying to see this... seriously, I can't wait!! This is gonna be awesome. 😁
That one scene where the cop shows up and they try to explain the whole situation to him 😂🤣
"The Guy basically jumped headfirst into a woodchipper on his own" 🙏
And the officer's like: So you're actually telling me this college kid just decided to jump into a machine all by himself and you expect me to buy that? Tucker & Dato: Yeah Pandur: Oh, so you think I'm some kind of moron?! 🤣
But honestly, the absolute funniest part of this entire mess is how they actually managed to push the narrative that those students were just suicidal, haha, give me a break! 🙏😂
Alex Long8 said:The absolute best part is when Paul freezes up in the grocery store and tries to shove his hands down their pants, hahaha I was actually dying
Oh man, that scene is pure gold 😂
I was just sitting there waiting for Paul to finally snap, and then boom: "Get your damn hands off my freaking tool!" 🤣🙏
And you know what’s wild? If you look closely, I think he barely twitched his mouth first, and they just gave each other that look before he finally lost it, hahaha!
It honestly gives off such strong Men in Black vibes, don't you think?
It’s a pretty solid comedy, honestly. There were definitely moments where it dragged a bit and felt kind of slow, so I don't think it totally lived up to everything I was hoping for.
I mean, Paul the Alien is a total blast, but if I'm being real, I expected a little more from him? Like, I feel like his supporting characters could have been fleshed out way better than they actually were. Don't get me wrong, the movie is super fun and I was laughing, but it doesn't quite hit that "all-time classic" status for me.
I was seriously dying laughing, man, those guys are freaking insane 😂
The casting is spot on and the characters are just brilliantly written. It’s honestly tough to pick out just one hilarious moment, but for me, that scene from the first half where they're at that rich guy's mansion talking about yellow vaginas was freaking hilarious 🤣 Uh, I swear I had to rewind and watch that specific part a few times. Every single scene in this movie is funny, but that one is definitely my favorite.
If you haven't seen this yet and you're into comedies, you seriously need to check it out. 👍
