Hitman: Agent 47 in Movies ·
Hey there! 👍

Man, what a ride! Honestly, I really dug this one—I don't have much to complain about at all. Sure, if you look closely, you’ve seen that specific plot twist and the whole setup a million times before in other action flicks, but who cares, right? It’s still a total blast and definitely worth your time if you're looking for something fun to watch.
Harvey Dent was absolutely killing it as John Wick, and honestly, I think this sequel actually outdid the first one.

Now, look, I totally get where you guys are coming from when you say the movie should've leaned more into that stealthy, tactical vibe instead of just constant TNT explosions and chaos, but hey, at least it wasn't a total flop, right?
That being said, I'm 100% with you that it could've been handled with a bit more grit and maybe dialed back the non-stop action just a touch. Maybe one day we'll finally get a movie that hits that sweet spot, huh? Since we're on the subject, Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell is coming out soon, so maybe that'll give us the stealth fix we're all craving.

I mean, look, Crow isn't exactly your run-of-the-mill, classic superhero, so maybe that's why he hasn't hit that massive level of mainstream popularity? Still, honestly, the movie itself is actually pretty solid.

Haha, man, I feel you, I know how much it sucks when things don't pan out like you wanted.
Let's Be Cops (2014) in Movies ·
Honestly, it’s a total riot—super fun and definitely worth checking out, at least for that one specific part.

I’m a sucker for these kinds of comedies where you just have two characters causing absolute chaos. I mean, let's be real, you need people making stupid mistakes for the jokes to actually land, right? But you know what I mean... I guess even I don't quite get myself half the time (total sarcasm there, obviously). 😁

Richard Wilson4 said:The first trailer actually looked pretty promising, but then the second one just spoiled the entire plot for us, which is honestly such a bummer.

I mean, right? Haha, who knows what they'll throw at us next. Honestly, I'm probably better off for having skipped that second trailer altogether.

Once I finally sit down to watch the actual movie, I might just go back and check out the trailer just to see exactly how much they gave away.

Honestly, I haven't been feeling those last two Superman movies at all, so I'm really crossing my fingers that we finally get a decent new Superman film soon.

Wait, hold on, are you talking about that upcoming Batman v Superman?
Superhero Movies in Movies ·
Richard Wilson4 said:I can still stomach Batman, but honestly, that whole mess with Superman almost made me give up on superhero movies entirely, especially with all that hype surrounding him.

I'm seriously pumped that Guardians and Deadpool kicked some serious butt, and maybe now superhero flicks will actually be fun again!

Wait, when you say "stomach it," are you talking about his voice in the newer trilogy? Personally, I think it’s actually pretty cool that he sounds different because if he had the same voice while in costume, wouldn't anyone just recognize him instantly?
Just imagine if some villain he barely managed to dodge—or one he finally tossed behind bars—recognized him by his voice and blabbed to the whole world who Batman really is! You can't take that risk, right? It makes total sense that he wants to stay anonymous.

If I could choose, I’d love a perfect 50/50 split, because man, I love that gritty, grounded approach you get in BB, The Dark Knight, and The Dark Knight Rises, but I also crave that goofy, totally wild vibe from Guardians, even though lately it feels like they're pushing the serious stuff way too hard—which, let's face it, hasn't been the norm for superhero movies until recently.
Plus, I really dig how Iron Man manages to stay serious and realistic while still sprinkling in enough humor to keep things light; that kind of mix is just perfection to me.

Jack Morgan2 said:I’d pick Deadpool’s voice in a heartbeat, but I’m staying far away from those digital Batmans from Nolan.

Well, that's yet another vote in favor of it.
😁

It would be awesome if we could just toss in the newer movies as they drop—like, take
Deadpool
, for example, and just pop him into the poll so everything stays current and updated.

Richard Barrett53 said:This poll is killer, seriously props for such a massive selection😁!

I ended up voting for five: Tim Burton's Batman, X-Men: First Class, The Dark Knight Rises, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and Dredd from 2012.

Honestly though, the X-Men series is my absolute favorite, and I’ve always been a huge fan of both Burton's and Nolan's Batman movies. I love Spider-Man as a superhero too, but I feel like I'm still waiting for them to finally make a truly top-tier movie about him. Also, that 2012 Dredd flick is great; feels way more underrated than it should be.

Oh, wow, thanks! I really tried to put some work into this one.

Man, I seriously cannot believe I missed this one. 🙂 Seriously... how did I let one of my absolute favorite Superhero movies slip right through the cracks of this poll? Ugh. 😵

It was such a cool movie, too! I still remember watching it as a kid—I loved it so much, and honestly, I can't even count how many times I sat there glued to the screen.

Calling all moderators here: any chance we could get this added to the poll if it’s not too much trouble?

Noah Roberts46 said:But how on earth can The Dark Knight Rises be any good? That movie is just riddled with plot holes and total nonsense, yet somehow it sits at an 8.5 on IMDb. 🤣

And look, I'm not some hater of the first two movies—honestly, the second one is absolutely fantastic—but this last installment? It's hard for me to call it anything other than trash.

I mean, yeah, okay, it definitely has its flaws compared to those first two which were basically perfect, but hey, it’s the finale, right? I can pretty much overlook the rough edges just because of that.
Plus, I’ve genuinely grown attached to Christian Bale’s version of Batman and the way Nolan directed these films, so to me, those three movies feel like one massive, continuous story. When you view them as a single cohesive epic, the whole experience feels way more special and better than pretty much anything else out there in the superhero genre.

Oh, and I should probably mention that I'm actually starting to get into Iron Man. I just rewatched Iron Man 2 and 3 the other day, because back when the first one dropped in 2008, I watched it and... honestly, it didn't really grab me, so I wasn't even interested in the sequels. But man, this trilogy is actually a blast! Now I'm thinking I might have to go back and give that first movie another shot just to see if it's actually mediocre or if I just caught it at a bad time.

Here are my absolute favorite superhero movies:

Superman (1978), Batman Begins (2005), The Dark Knight (2008), The Dark Knight Rises (2012), and Watchmen (2009).

That’s my top 5 limited selection. I’m sticking to just five because honestly, what's the point in trying to vote for ten or fifteen different flicks? Just keep it simple, right? Also, I haven't listed them from best to worst—they're basically just in order of when they came out. But let me tell you, The Dark Knight is my number one, no question about it. From the second I saw that movie, I just knew; I told myself, "Yep, this is it, this is the greatest superhero movie ever made," and I doubt anything will ever top it. Years have gone by and nothing has even come close to touching it, nor could they have filmed anything better back then.

I think V for Vendetta is pretty solid, and I absolutely love the whole Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles trilogy, but these five are the heavy hitters for me.
I've had a massive connection to the original Superman since I was a little kid, and besides, it's just way more serious and high-quality compared to those Ninja Turtles movies, which I'm also fond of.
The Dark Knight is hands down the best superhero movie ever made, and man, I just adore that entire trilogy.
And Watchmen? That one is just special; it feels so unique, like you're actually watching a comic book come to life.
I've seen pretty much everything on this list, except for some of the really old stuff—though, I have to say, that 1966 Batman is definitely in my top 10.

What else can I even say? I mean, Superman is such an iconic figure and arguably one of the most famous superheroes out there; I feel like I've known who he is since the day I was born.
Batman is right up there at the peak too, and for good reason; just like Superman, they are two truly special heroes.
And Watchmen... man, while you're watching it, it gives you this distinct feeling of actually reading a graphic novel.
It really just comes down to the fact that these five movies sit on a totally different level than the rest because they're just higher quality and more grounded. They aren't some goofy joke like the Ninja Turtles; I mean, the three Ninja Turtles movies are fine, but they're like a B-movie compared to an A-list production. We're talking Oscar level difference in quality here.
The Dark Knight trilogy brought something totally fresh to the table, that sense of realism—no matter how hard it is to make a superhero movie feel "real," the Dark Knight trilogy actually pulls it off.

Noah Roberts46 said:I honestly think this is a killer topic for a Superhero movie thread.

Thanks so much! I'm really glad you feel that way 👍

Personally, I’m totally on board with having one massive dedicated thread for all things Superhero movies where we can just geek out, debate everything, and vote on our absolute favorites, right?

Please bear with me for a second while I finish putting this survey together—man, there are just so many titles to get through!

Edit: Okay, the survey is finally live! Honestly, my fingers are killing me and my eyes are practically crossing, but I managed to squeeze all 101 titles in there.

I’ll jump back in a bit later to let you guys know which one is my favorite and cast my vote, but right now? I seriously need to go crash for a while.

Superhero
So, I’ve been sitting here thinking about all those Superhero movies that have been flooding our theaters lately, and honestly, where do we even begin? Is it just me, or does it feel like every single weekend there’s some new massive blockbuster dropping that tries to redefine what a hero actually looks like? I mean, don't get me wrong, I love the spectacle, but sometimes you just want to sit back and wonder if we're ever going to see a return to those gritty, character-driven stories that really made us fall in love with the genre in the first place, you know? Like, do we really need another multiverse crossover every six months, or can we just get one solid, well-written story that doesn't rely on a thousand Easter eggs to keep us engaged? It’s such a wild ride watching how much the industry has shifted, isn't it?

Alright, let’s get this going! I really want to see which Superhero movie—or maybe even a whole series of them—is your absolute all-time favorite, and more importantly, what makes it hit so hard for you? Is it the storytelling, the visuals, or just that one specific character that totally blows your mind? Lay it on me!

* Note: Hey, just a heads-up for everyone taking part in the poll—I've actually enabled the multi-choice option, so you aren't stuck picking just one! You can go ahead and cast your vote for multiple movies if you're feeling indecisive, which honestly makes way more sense, right? Why limit ourselves to just one pick when we can celebrate all our favorites at once? Go wild and vote for as many as you want!

I actually made this wallpaper myself!

I'm gonna be pulling movies straight from Wikipedia's lists: Wiki So, I was just sitting here thinking about how much our lives basically revolve around these massive cinematic universes, right? It’s kind of wild when you stop to look at the sheer scale of it all! I started putting together this massive list of superhero movies because, honestly, who hasn't spent a weekend binge-watching everything from the gritty, dark stuff to the bright, colorful adventures that make you feel like a kid again? Is there even a better way to spend a rainy afternoon than diving deep into these epic sagas? Anyway, check this out—I've been trying to organize my thoughts on the best ones out there, so here is my ultimate rundown of the superhero movies that actually matter!

I mean, I really don't want to miss out on a single one! As for the poll, it’s gonna include everything released up until the end of last year—basically, if it's been shown on screen anytime from now until then, it's going in there. Isn't that perfect?

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II (2016) in Movies ·
Whoa, seriously! They look freaking awesome—honestly, they capture that classic animated series vibe perfectly, just with a much more dangerous, gritty edge to them. 👍

I really hope we get to see Krang and the Technodrome show up soon, though maybe they’ll save all that epic stuff for a third installment? My biggest wish is that they either ditch Shredder entirely or actually get him right this time; I don't want a repeat of how they handled the Transformers / Terminator situation in that first movie.
I actually really dug this movie! I haven't seen the original version before, but man, this was such a blast to watch. It honestly reminded me so much of one of my all-time favorite horror flicks, Funny Games.

Honestly, the only thing that was really missing was just a bit more grit—you know, like, way more brutality and blood to really spice things up? It feels like it needed that extra kick to make it pop, but hey, even without the extra gore, it’s still a solid watch.
Entourage in Movies ·
Honestly, I was really digging the movie. 👍

As someone who’s been obsessed with the show for ages, this was such a blast to watch—they actually nailed the whole vibe, and having Anne Hathaway in the mix just made it even better 😁

That drama though 😂 Man, what a legend! Who even was that guy in that one clip? 🤣
Dark Places (2015) in Movies ·
I already downloaded it, so I’ll probably get around to watching it either today or tomorrow. Honestly, when you've got Charlize Theron leading the charge paired with such a gripping subject matter, you just know it's going to be a winner, right? Fingers crossed it turns out to be a total masterpiece!

Robert Rodriguez2 said:Watched the first 20 minutes. Didn't laugh once. Turn it off, hit shift+delete—that’s my take on this movie. 🙂

Man, I watched the first 2 minutes and cracked up at least 20 times! I actually turned it off just to keep laughing, then hit play again because I couldn't get enough. That's how I feel about this flick. 🤣

I was actually posting over on the Fast & Furious / Furious 7 thread about this parody, but man, it is seriously hilarious! It’s absolute gold! 🙏😂👍

Honestly, I’d recommend this to anyone, whether you’re a huge fan of the F7F series or just someone who loves a good laugh—if you dig comedies and parodies, you’ve gotta watch this... probably more than once too.

Rachel Hall29 said:You have to give that duo credit for one thing: sheer, unadulterated consistency. I mean, every single movie they put out is absolute garbage, but hey, at least they stick to their guns and keep churning out the same brand of nonsense. I’m practically counting down the days until their next "masterpiece," *Who The Fuck Took my Daughter*, which is supposedly their take on *Taken*. Not.

Haha, what a freaking ridiculous title for a movie! 🤣
Remakes and sequels: how much is too much? in Movies ·
Honestly, this whole debate is kind of pointless. Remakes have always been around, and they always will be, right? It’s like people are acting all shocked lately, as if remakes just suddenly started popping up five or six years ago like it was some brand-new phenomenon. It's definitely not new.

Personally, I actually dig remakes. Every once in a while, I'll find one that's genuinely better than the original—though I know that’s super rare and usually the original takes the cake for me.
But seriously, there are times when it works! For me, Scarface is a better remake, The Last House on the Left is a better remake, and even the version of The Thing is better...
