Did you actually bring all this up with your dermatologist? Honestly, do a little digging on seborrheic dermatitis—this is giving me major vibes of that. Also, if you're dealing with abdominal pain, you really ought to get that checked out. How can you be so sure it’s specifically your liver?

Looking for a specialist... in Health ·
People, you’ve gone way too far with the off-topic chatter. Please just stick to the actual topic: doctor recommendations and specialist advice. Thanks! 🙂
Nicholas Wells74 said:I've had several specialists review my full medical history, and they’re all giving me completely different takes on how to actually manage my condition.

Aha, okay, I get what you're saying now. Personally, I'd just tell my primary care doctor to book me with a specific specialist. If I have to wait a little longer for the right one instead of just taking the first available opening, so be it.

As I see it, we actually have the right to choose our providers. It shouldn't just be a game of chance.
Dealing with bad cramps? in Women's Health ·
Nicole Barrett76 said:If you take four Advil on that specific day when the pain hits, you could potentially face some side effects right then and there.

Now, I am certainly not claiming that something terrible will definitely happen to you—heaven forbid that should ever be the case!

For instance, when my head starts throbbing and my right eye begins to ache—and look, I know a headache isn't quite the same thing as menstrual cramps—I just reach for some Excedrin. That particular type of pain is completely debilitating, so please believe me when I say I truly understand what it feels like when the agony becomes unbearable. Besides popping an Excedrin, there isn't much else I can do; all I really want to do is retreat into a pitch-black room and just recover. The room doesn't even have to be silent, it just needs to be dark.

And don't think for a second that I'm indifferent about taking Excedrin, but sometimes, what choice do you really have? Because of that, I know exactly how patronizing it sounds when someone tries to "lecture" you about using pain medication.

It all depends. You’ve got to look at the milligram dosage per pill and how much time you're leaving between doses. Plus, body weight is a huge factor. Taking something when you weigh 110 pounds isn't the same as taking it when you're 200 pounds—usually, the heavier person needs a higher dose to get the same effect.
How do you handle seeing different doctors? Like, switching up specialists or what? Honestly, if we’re just talking about routine checkups, I feel like you should be able to pick whoever you want. That’s how it’s always worked for me.

I really hope this isn't some new policy they're rolling out. I've finally found two specialists I actually trust, and I have zero interest in having some random stranger diagnosing me or managing my care during follow-ups. I put my faith in people I've been seeing for years—people who actually know my medical history inside and out.
Headaches after eating salad? in Health ·
You’re probably just allergic to one of those chemicals they use to treat produce. 🙂 Honestly, just steer clear of the brands and products that mess with you. That’s how I handle things when it comes to my meat and juices... 😁

I also called the Department of Health and Human Services, and the official told me there’s a complaint form on their website that I need to fill out. Problem is, I can’t find that form anywhere. If anyone knows where it’s hidden, let me know. I am definitely filing a report. I'm just not sure if they can move forward without an autopsy. The cause of death was listed as sepsis from two different types of bacteria, so the cause is clear regardless.

You can report it if you want, but honestly, an autopsy would have been better. This way, I’m guessing they just tweak the paperwork to make sure it looks like she received everything she was entitled to.

I don't know what to say about this. Just sitting here thinking. says:
Those medical boards are useless. Instead of acting as an oversight committee for doctors, they basically just serve as a shield to protect them.

I don't know. I can't just look the other way when several different people start complaining about the exact same thing. Just file a report. Even if you think nothing will come of it, the complaint still sits there on record. Once a critical mass of people starts making noise, they'll eventually have to deal with it. 🤷
Tonsil tumor: What should I look for? in Health ·
Did you get those biopsy results back yet?
Dealing with bad cramps? in Women's Health ·
You aren't alone. I've heard from plenty of people who feel the exact same way. Honestly, if I don't grab some muscle relaxers or painkillers immediately, I might as well just take a picture of myself because nothing else is going to help.
mistyjackal842, I am so incredibly sorry for your loss. 😢

I know nothing can bring Mom back, but you really need to report this. You have that white phone (not sure if you called from that or whatever), and you can file a report there anonymously. In my opinion, they are obligated to investigate every single report, so let those officials sweat a little while they try to explain what actually went down. If it were me, I’d raise hell until they listened—enough with the games and the excuses.

I realize you don't have the energy for any of this right now. Most people just don't have the strength to demand accountability, and that is exactly why things like this keep happening.
If you’ve been using some kind of antifungal lately, the results might be totally skewed. Also, I’m assuming you just smeared it on the glass slides? That only shows the Candida; it won't tell you if there's a bacterial infection hiding there.

You really need to get a proper culture done. I mean a real one—where they take a swab, put it on a medium, and wait days to see what actually grows and which meds it responds to. If you're dealing with a bacterial infection, all those heavy-duty vaginal washes you've been using are a waste of time. You’ll need an antibiotic.
Cut fingertip: What should I do? in Health ·
It’s obvious he’s got an infection or something starting up, and he needs to get to a doctor immediately. If he just sits around waiting, things are going to get messy fast—he could end up losing a finger, his hand, or who knows what else. 🤷
Cuts, scrapes, and bruises in Health ·
Maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to dab some hydrogen peroxide on there—the kind you grab at CVS. Honestly, I’d probably suggest something else 😁 though. It does a decent job of moistening the scab while cleaning things out, so it isn't a total waste of time.
What the hell? 🤣

What are you guys even stressing about? If the surgery was a success, who cares if it was the first, the hundredth, or the ten-thousandth one performed? The only thing that matters is that everything turned out fine. I know it sounds crazy, but in any profession, there’s always someone doing something for the very first time. I don't see what's so weird about doctors performing a procedure or running an operation solo for the first time.

Locking this thread because it's completely pointless.
I pulled this post aside because I figured if you posted it in the thyroid discussion thread, it would just get buried under a mountain of other posts without anyone actually seeing it. This way, maybe someone will stumble upon it and share their own experiences. 🙂

So, have you talked to your doctor yet? And how long have you been on the injections? From what I understand about hormones, they don't just stabilize overnight—it takes some time for things to level out.
Doctors' strike in Health ·
I don't think they just cut their multiplier; I think they're being paid like it's a standard shift. Their paycheck took a hit of about 30 percent because of it.

It’s basically like working through holidays and Sundays only to get paid the same rate as a regular Tuesday. 🤷
Doctors' strike in Health ·
I'm with you on that. 🙂

By the way, they aren't even asking for special perks or raises right now. They’re just demanding that they get paid exactly what they were already making.
