I've run into two little hiccups while working with Windows 7, and I was wondering if anyone might be able to point me in the right direction!
First off, I've noticed that my C: drive is just constantly losing free space for no apparent reason! Does anyone else feel like their storage just evaporates into thin air? 😲 I’ve been keeping a close eye on my storage lately, and I can't believe that over the last two weeks, a solid 1.5 GB has just vanished into thin air! Isn't it strange how that happens? I should probably mention that I haven't installed a single new program during this entire stretch, and I even went ahead and cleared out my browser cache to rule that out as a culprit, so there really shouldn't be any reason for this sudden disappearance, right?
On top of all that, right when I first finished getting Windows all set up, I noticed that my .gif files were defaulting to opening in Internet Explorer! Can you believe that? 😕 I was really hoping I could just get my GIF files to open with the classic Windows Photo Viewer, but since it wasn't showing up in the "Open with" menu, I decided to try a little workaround! I remembered back in the Windows XP days how that image viewer used to show up in the taskbar just like Explorer, so I thought, why not just set all my GIFs to open with explorer.exe? Well, boy, was I wrong! Now, every single time I attempt to open a GIF, my CPU usage absolutely skyrockets, and the memory consumption just starts climbing higher and higher without any sign of stopping—honestly, the only way to fix it is to perform a full system restart. But here is the real kicker: now that I've messed things up, I can't even try to change the setting back to Explorer or pick a different program, because the moment I try to open a GIF through Windows, that entire crashing cycle repeats itself all over again! Does anyone know how I can break out of this loop?

I've never felt it, and I kept telling myself: maybe it'll hit me when I'm older... but nothing yet.
I have a wonderful marriage, an amazing husband (who isn't exactly itching to be a dad either), my own business, employees... I travel, I have everything I need... and most importantly, I don't feel like I'm missing out on having children...
Is that weird? What do you guys think?

In the beginning, I tried to be a people pleaser and just tune out the negativity, but honestly, it’s finally starting to get to me. That's all there is to it. 😢

It’s honestly pretty disheartening to discover that there are several colleagues who would much rather I didn't work with them anymore. 😢

Sure, I have a few close friends who are basically brothers to me—guys I can pour my heart out to—but it’s just not the same thing, you know? I share certain parts of myself, but there's always that deeper side I keep locked away inside.
So, here’s the story. Back on January 21st of last year, I was driving home from a birthday party, totally wasted, and I just lost control of the car on a sharp turn. I slammed into a tree and ended up sliding right into the river.
I honestly can only thank God that I made it out alive and didn't take anyone else down with me. I spend so much time living in regret, constantly playing back the "what ifs" in my head—wondering how things could have gone differently, what if I had taken a different route, or what if I hadn't been drinking in the first place... it just haunts me.
That car I wrecked... man, I absolutely loved that thing. I spent so much time washing it, detailing it, keeping the engine pristine; it was always gleaming. Because it happened on such a busy stretch of road, the damage was total. The only way to actually fix it would have been importing a whole new chassis and parts all the way from Germany. My old man shut that idea down immediately because it just wasn't worth the money—he was the one who gave me the car in the first place, so I hadn't really earned it myself.
Since that day, not a single one has passed where I haven't thought about it. Almost every time the memory hits, I find myself tearing up. I can't even put into words how much I miss that car and how much I hate myself for letting things get so out of hand that I crashed while drunk. I’m constantly dreaming about turning back the clock and doing things the right way. I catch myself imagining being behind the wheel again, sitting in that seat, running my hand over the dashboard and feeling every single detail like it’s actually happening.
I know I probably sound a little crazy, but that green machine was everything to me. 😢
That’s the part that’s killing me—not knowing how long this weight is going to stay on my chest or when the ache will finally stop. Anyway, if there’s anyone else out there who finds themselves grieving over something that isn't even alive, please reach out. I could really use someone to vent to.
Thanks 😉

Maybe it’s just being suicidal but failing, or maybe it's a cry for help... or just someone trying to force everyone to look at them and their own little drama.👍

I've already started sorting some things out, and I'll get to the rest of it eventually... it takes time, and you can't just fix everything overnight.

She’s drilled her own set of opinions and beliefs so deep into my head that whenever I do something "wrong"—which really just means anything she wouldn't approve of—I feel like a cartoon character pops up in my mind. It’s her face and her voice, staring at me with this look of pure disappointment or judgment. On a conscious level, I know exactly what I’m doing is fine, but subconsciously, it eats at me. 🙂
For instance, I feel like I have to hide the fact that I grab a drink when I go out, mostly because in her mind, having one cocktail is just a slippery slope straight to alcoholism.🙄 Or I have to keep it under wraps when I meet up with people I met online, because if she found out, she’d launch into a lecture about how there's something wrong with me or why I can't find "normal" friends in person.🙄 I realize I can't change her views, and frankly, I don't want to try. 😁
These are just small, everyday examples, but the cumulative weight of it is exhausting; it creates this constant pressure that’s starting to feel like a neurosis. I worry that when I eventually get a boyfriend, I’ll be too hesitant to be intimate because I know I won't get Mom's blessing. Or, if I do, I’ll end up spiraling into guilt because, deep down, I'll feel like I'm doing something shameful. 😵
Sometimes I have to laugh at myself, thinking about that old saying, "God is watching everything, nothing stays hidden," except in my case, it feels like Mom's eyes are everywhere. 🤣
How do I shake this off? Is anyone else dealing with something similar?
*I'm not some kid; I'm 20 🙈, so please don't mistake this for teen drama. 🙂
