feralcrane47 said:So, I hopped out of the shower today and walked into my room to find my PC had shut itself off. My first thought was actually blaming my brother for unplugging it,
but when I booted back up, the system told me it shut down due to an error. I clicked the details and saw it was a Blue Screen.🤷
How often does this kind of error pop up for you guys?
And any tips on how to fix it? 🤷👎
Well, what exactly did the Blue Screen say?

@John Clark6/">@@John Clark6, you've run into a handful of glitches on Windows 7, which seems like an isolated case to me. You can't really build a whole opinion based just on one bad experience. It’s not just a few people on this forum raving about Windows 7, either—if you check any tech forum, pick up an IT magazine, or read through reviews, you'll see the consensus. It's unlikely everyone else is wrong. They had to release three Service Packs for XP just to make it somewhat usable, whereas Windows 7 offered way more out of the box. Honestly, try running XP without any service packs and you'll see exactly what I mean when you compare them...
PS. It really gets under my skin when I see someone with 15 years of experience using the term "games," but hey, whatever.

Walter Hughes6 said:Vicar. I've run into a bit of a weird issue with my Windows 7 (32-bit). It's on a laptop running an Nvidia 9600 m gt graphics card, and whenever I try to launch a game, DirectX throws an error at me. The Diagnostic Tool isn't picking up anything wrong, and when I attempt to update DirectX, it tells me I'm already on the latest version. Has anyone dealt with something like this before, or does anyone know how to fix it?
Is it just one specific game, or does this happen with everything you try to play? If it's just one particular title, maybe try reinstalling it. When you run the installer, make sure to let it install the DirectX components from the game's disc too.

I have a quick question—does Windows 7 Ultimate allow you to download a language pack
for a different language, like Spanish, so the whole system runs in that language?
What's the best way to go about it?
You can actually just handle that through Windows Update...

There are some out there, but I think this one will be more like a special edition or an Xtreme Tweak 🙂
Modem issues!

You can just set up a PPPoE connection and create a shortcut right on your desktop; then, a quick double-click lets you connect or disconnect whenever you need. Also, you can put the modem into standby mode using the button located on the top
Trick 'r Treat (The Scariest Halloween Ever)

I’d heard nothing but rave reviews about this movie—people calling it a masterpiece and a total "must-watch." Honestly, after finally sitting down to view it, I was just stunned. It was a ninety-minute snooze fest, basically a fairy tale about Jack and Mary, and it didn't have a single ounce of actual horror in it; even Scooby-Doo felt more exciting and fast-paced than this! This film was easily one of the biggest letdowns I've ever experienced. From the directing to the acting, everything was subpar, so I tossed it straight into the recycling bin without a second thought. All in all, I won't be giving this one a second chance!

Give this a shot—BurnAware.

Hey Matthew... It feels like I'm facing one of those massive life decisions, doesn't it?

He thinks he's just formatting the C drive—basically "wiping" Windows XP—while installing Windows 7.

I'm using an HP 4710.
It runs perfectly fine. Go ahead and install it—you should be extremely happy with how it performs. 🙂
The Perfect Getaway

I watched this a while ago, and honestly, I could barely make it to the end. The only reason I finished it was for that stunning island scenery. The movie itself just drags; it’s pretty slow and feels somewhat rushed and disjointed in its pacing. I guarantee anyone who watches this will forget what they saw within two minutes. It's a forced 4/10 for me.

Noah Foster57 said:Can you drop the link where you found the 2010 version? As far as I know, the latest release is Nero Burning ROM 9.12. Is this some kind of trial version...?
Actually, that is the 2010 version (v9.12).

Honestly, what can I say? I've been using Nero Burning ROM for what feels like forever, and it still runs perfectly—totally reliable, just how I like it. As for Nero, back when it was actually a solid program that did what it promised, it was great. But nowadays? good grief...I ended up uninstalling it ages ago and haven't let it anywhere near my computer since.

You might want to try using VLC Media Player instead. Just install the basic version without messing with any extra codec packs; it runs smoothly on my Windows 7 64-bit machine.
Hey, give this one a shot—you can have the whole thing wrapped up in about two minutes.

I definitely made a mistake there...

You can also use Nero Burning ROM for burning discs; it’s actually free too...
