Answering question number 8: It’s Damage and Universal Soldier, though I can't say for sure about the third one...
Answering question number 9: That would be Gary Daniels in Cold Harvest.

Look, this whole thing is just a massive mess because they crammed two different questions under a single number. I ended up writing my breakdown under number 6 when it really should have been number 7, which means number 7 should be 8, and so on... everything is just thrown out of whack.

Answering question number 6 here: there are 10 key differences 😁

Look, I’m just putting this out there so people can see my logic since I’ve already shredded all my notes and went through a mountain of combinations before finally getting close to the answer:

a. movie list
b. movie list
c. movie list
d. movie list
e. movie list
f. movie list

Honestly, it's probably better if these kinds of answers are sent via PM. It’s more of a challenge that way, and frankly, it’s more realistic 🙂.

Nice work. I managed to nail , but you totally outdid yourself with the rest. Honestly, there’s no point in even trying to tackle this challenge anymore... everyone’s just going to end up copying your answers anyway.

Honestly, you can just see it in most of them right in their eyes... except maybe for Dolph Lundgren and Jason Statham, who are pretty much obvious choices 😁.

1. Chuck Norris
2. Jason Statham
3. Vin Diesel
4. Bruce Willis
5. Jean-Claude Van Damme
6. Arnold Schwarzenegger
7. Dolph Lundgren

P.S. I've got a gut feeling most people are gonna totally screw up on the Transporter movies 😁.

P.S. Props to Anthony Smith3 for putting this together 😁
Nothing even comes close to those classics like Mel Brooks' History of the World, Part I and Young Frankenstein 😁. And don't even get me started on Hot Shots! 1 and 2—those are still actually funny. But these modern parodies? They’re absolute zero. Just total garbage like Meet the Spartans and Movie... honestly, just pure 👎.

I honestly wasn't feeling this movie. It was pretty predictable and just didn't grab me that much. As for the plot, it’s such a tired trope I've seen a million times before... feels like watching a single episode of X-Files or Fringe, or even something like Species. It's a one-time watch, at most... maybe more if I'm feeling nostalgic for dren hehe.

SPOILER
The craziest part for me was when those two organisms tear each other apart behind the glass, leaving the audience totally stunned and terrified because they had no clue the female had actually changed sex 🤣.

You’ve got a point there... 😁.

granitehound19 I can't even begin to wrap my head around this... It’s like nobody actually listens anymore. You read these things and you just think, "Are we serious right now?" It's completely absurd... Honestly, I'm just done with it.
I can't believe I actually sat through that whole thing just to get blindsided like this... seriously? My head is still spinning from that ending. I knew things were heading in a weird direction, but nothing could have prepared me for that twist. It feels like such a massive gut punch after all the buildup... everything we thought we knew about the protagonist was just a lie. Now I’m sitting here staring at the screen wondering what even the point was. I need a drink... and maybe a nap to process how much my brain just melted...

That’s exactly what I mean—the beauty of it is that you can interpret the ending however you want. For me? It felt more like a happy ending than a tragic one. Yeah, sure, he's technically screwed and facing the consequences, but at least his head is in a good place. He’s actually finding some peace in his "new life"... so maybe it isn't such a bad thing after all...

I mean, you could definitely look at it that way. SPOILER: When you step back and look at the big picture, the lead guy basically took out a massive loan from a whole bunch of people, effectively destroying their lives in the process. He’s not exactly some shining hero, so it was always bound to blow up in his face eventually... My only real gripe is that the main guy didn't get the ending he actually deserved, and honestly, neither did the Black actor. Sure, their projects were huge leaps forward for humanity, but they still relied on those shady, manipulative tactics and ended up with a bloody debt collection at the end of the day. In short? It was straight-up criminal. Because of that, that beach scene where everything finally hits the fan would have felt much more fitting, but hey, it is what it is...

David Price5 said:Honestly, no matter what kind of ending they chose, people would still find something to complain about. Whether it’s a happy ending or a sad one, it's just the way it goes.

Look, you've got a point there. But I don't know, I just lost my damn mind over that ending. It just didn't sit right with me, so screw it😢. The whole movie was incredible right up until that final stretch. It’s not like I have a problem with happy endings in general, but this? This just wasn't how it should have gone down...

Just finished watching this movie and honestly... I hated it. Most of the runtime was actually decent—the plot was engaging, plenty of fights, action, and genuine tension... but then that ending hits. It completely nuked the whole experience for me. What a joke.

Honestly, I haven't sat through a single bad movie starring Tom Cruise, and trust me, I've seen a hell of a lot of them. So, I guess all that's left is to wait and see how this 🙂 turns out...

gentlebadger88 said:I am 100% with you on this. Music nowadays? It’s a joke. You get some "hit" that people dance to for maybe two or three years before it vanishes into thin air, and don't even get me started on the actual quality... it's nonexistent. Especially over the last five years. It feels like anyone can just become a superstar today as long as they find some producer to bankroll them. But the music itself? God, it's terrible. The 80s and especially the 90s had the absolute best music—stuff that actually lasts forever. Honestly, this whole debate should be moved to its own thread instead of cluttering up the movies section... I don't want to have to see this here because some people's comments are enough to make you sick, especially those idiots trashing Nirvana and the other legendary 90s bands while worshiping garbage from the 2000s onwards. And agentsmith, seriously, if the only things you remember from the 90s are one-hit wonders like Coco Jumbo or Macarena, then you might as well just give up now. At the end of the day, it's all about taste, so hush, okay?

That post was actually a reaction to what jonsi07 wrote, specifically targeting that second-to-last sentence. Moving too fast there. My bad, agentsmith.

Anyway, I can't pick just one single "best" year for movies because, for me, every single year from 1991 through 1999 pumped out a massive pile of great films. That's why the 90s were the golden era for cinema. For the years not mentioned or that I didn't see listed, my top picks would be:

1982 - Blade Runner, Rambo - First Blood, The Thing, E. T., Conan the Barbarian, Poltergeist

1986 - Platoon, Aliens, Top Gun, Blue Velvet, Highlander, Big Trouble in Little China, The Color of Money, Cobra, Sid and Nancy, The Name of the Rose, The Fly

wiredcyclist said:Alright, look, your list is just subjective taste at this point. What I was actually getting at is how music in the 90s felt more organic... there was an actual human element involved, you know? People were truly *in* the music. Nowadays, you just need one software program and suddenly you're a musician, a producer, a DJ... it's all just electronics, cranking up the rhythm, slamming the bass, hitting buttons...

I’m signing onto this one. Most music today is designed to be a flash in the pan—some hit will be stuck in your head for maybe two or three years before it vanishes into total obscurity, and don't even get me started on the actual quality. These days, anyone can become a star as long as they find some producer to polish them up and a sponsor to foot the bill. The quality of the music itself is god-awful, especially over the last five years. The 80s and 90s (especially) had the best, most timeless stuff out there. Honestly, this conversation should probably move to where it belongs instead of cluttering up the movie section... I really don't want to have to wade through this, because some of the comments here are enough to make you sick, specifically the people spitting on Nirvana and those other 90s bands while worshiping every mediocre thing from the 2000s onward. And wiredcyclist, if the only things you remember from the 90s are hits like Coco Jumbo and Macarena, then you might as well just give up now. At the end of the day, it’s all just a matter of taste, so shhh... okay?

So, I finally sat through it. Look, there’s action, sure, but the movie itself isn't exactly gripping... it doesn't even come close to some of the other French action films I've checked out lately. And that ending? Total letdown. Just completely underwhelming. I don't know, it just didn't click for me, and honestly, I was expecting way more than what I actually got. I'm not going to dive into specifics because I don't want to spoil anything for everyone else who hasn't seen it yet.

briskhound2 said:🤦 So you have to read comments with a friend just to figure out what you'd say? Not me. Whatever's on my mind goes straight to the keyboard...

You're probably one of those people who watches horror remakes thinking, "I already know this is going to be trash based on a trailer that dropped months ago," and then walks into the theater with that exact attitude 🙄.

🤦

To quote myself again—everything I said was basically what I expected just from looking at the trailer.

As for that comparison between Twilight fans and this movie, I'll pass on commenting because I'll probably get a lifetime ban for what I'd actually say. And yeah, for me, the originals are usually better most of the time (like Halloween or Friday the 13th), and it's the same here, but still, the movie isn't all that bad.

Please, go ahead—I'm dying to hear your take (just give me the censored version)—because when I see characters who are basically just "emo" types whose whole vibe relies on looks and brooding stares, I've seen enough. BTW—The Texas Chain Saw Massacre and The Last House on the Left are way better than their originals—the classics aren't holy scripture. A bad movie is just a bad movie.

Btw, if you think the guy looks like a doll or something (which is a total cliché, but alright), have you ever actually seen a burned face in real life to know how it looks?

Seriously, I get it. You know what I mean?

The atmosphere itself is actually pretty solid—lots of blood, gore, and jump scares every few minutes—but honestly, people probably expected too much and just kept comparing it to the original, so it didn't land nearly as well...

And that’s supposed to be "good horror"—just endless blood and cheap shocks every five seconds? Not really my thing. To add to that—the real magic and charm of the old Nightmare films was that you never quite knew if you were watching a dream or reality... that's where the actual tension lived. This one doesn't have that at all. It’s not just missing; it’s almost like they’re shouting, "Pay attention! This is a DREAM now, so get ready for Freddy to jump out." If that's cool to someone—hey—good for them. It just isn't for me.

First off, I wasn't reading comments with my friend; we just hopped on the forum after the theater to see what people were saying about the movie, and my buddy goes, "Oh, I read this on IMDb," and found the link immediately. So stop talking nonsense and twisting my words. It's obvious you're doing this because it looks like everything you wrote was just run through a translator. As for the burnt face thing, obviously I've seen it—I've seen enough in my professional life—so I don't get why there's such a big deal over some doll, an alien, or whatever other nonsense. Regarding the cast, that kid who seemed obsessed with not being in the movie was unlikable to me too (if I remember right, he's the one from > and >), while the lead actor was okay. He's not >, but still... They definitely could have finished the series without this version and wrapped it up with a solid seven installments (not counting that trash >) but hey, the movie is decent enough with plenty of scenes and shocks (whatever, to each their own ☕). Honestly, I think people are overreacting and trashing it in such vague ways. Not to mention half the people in the theater didn't even watch the movie; they were just squirming in their seats and then trashed it online afterward. That's not just happening with this movie; it happens with truly great movies all the time. One thing about this movie I REALLY HATE, though, is how incredibly stupid it is. If I remember correctly from the old series, Freddy was the killer whose parents burned him alive in revenge. Here, it turns out he was just some farmer who kidnapped kids and dragged them into a basement to assault them in every way possible, causing physical injuries, and somehow—using some weird logic—all the kids had repressed memories, like total amnesia for that entire period, regarding both Freddy and the events. None of them remembered a single thing. That makes zero sense to me 🤷.

briskhound2 said:A Nightmare on Elm Street (2010) Why? image I have to say something about this one—it’s pretty much impossible to find anything good here—this movie is an absolute train wreck. To start with the good stuff—which won't take long—you get that iconic melody (thank God they didn't turn it into some hip-hop remix), and a few dream sequences actually have a decent atmosphere, and... yeah, that's about it.

What really fails is—well, the total butchering of the original. Every single character is so unlikable that you’re practically rooting for Freddy's knives to find them... they're irritating to a degree you rarely see in cinema. Everyone is trying so hard to be "trendy," like they're from some Sex and the City wannabe generation, all the cool poses and looks—it's almost unwatchable. Nancy has basically turned into Bella Swan from Twilight, some weird school geek who's—well, you know—in some kind of mess, and Glen is just a loser, some hip-hop kid type replacing what should have been a Johnny Depp vibe... everyone is acting all edgy and depressed and "alternative," like they've already dealt with nightmare issues and know everything... and half of them look like they just wandered off the set of Melrose Place. Then there's the fact that the whole movie is just a patchwork of scenes ripped from the original. They swapped roles around, so now Tina / Kriss is the one with the massive classroom scene (since Nancy doesn't even exist in this version). That famous ceiling slaughter scene—I mean, how do you even mess that up? Basically, Tina / Kriss is FLYING across the ceiling like Spider-Man—one quick cut (softened, apparently, so we don't ruin the lead actress's hair)—and that's it. The rest is just stacking stupidity on top of stupidity and straight-up copying entire sequences from the original...

As for Freddy Krueger—that's a whole other issue. Look, I have nothing against Jack Earl Haley as an actor, but this isn't the role for him—the guy is barely five feet tall and thin, and all the other actors tower over him. His voice is a chronic rasp, a pathetic attempt at imitating Englund's intonation (kudos to the writers, though, since they didn't give him a single smart line like the old Freddy had) and when that fails, he just drifts into a Ledger-style Joker vibe. And the look? It's a joke. Freddy ended up looking like some little gray cartoon alien—his face literally reminds me of those caricatures. He carries himself like a wet hen—there's none of that "I'm gonna slice you up, kid" swagger left... honestly, I regret watching the original series before this because this version of Freddy is just... well, it says a lot about the movie that Wes Craven, Robert Shaye, Robert Englund, and everyone else who built the first film wouldn't want any association with this mess.

So—this movie is for the generation that turned Twilight into some hazy blockbuster hit. The characters are tailor-made to mimic that specific vibe—the new Jesse is basically Edward Cullen with that exact stare and look... the horror is just there for show, you know, just so those kids can feel like they're dealing with "real problems"... it's ugly, just plain ugly what they did to this film. Michael Bay should probably be legally banned from touching classic franchises because he always manages to screw them up completely. A massive, highly generous score of 2/10

I see you're quite the expert at English since you managed to find bad reviews on IMDb and translate them into American instead of providing an actual argument of your own 👎. My friend caught onto that immediately while we were reading these comments at my place after seeing the movie in theaters.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1179056/...&p=1#163453908

You’re probably one of those people who approaches horror remakes with this attitude of: "I already know this is going to be garbage based on a trailer that dropped months ago," and then you go ahead and watch the movie anyway 🙄 with that exact same chip on your shoulder. As for comparing Twilight fans to whatever this is... honestly, I'm just not going there. I don't want to get a lifetime ban for what I'd actually say about that comparison. Look, in most cases, the originals are better—like Halloween or Friday the 13th—and yeah, that's true here too, but the movie isn't actually that bad. By the way, if you think the character looks like a doll or something (which is such a cliché thing to say, let's be real), have you ever actually seen a real burned face in person? Do you even know what that looks like? And regarding everyone being unlikable... looking at Katie Cassidy and your comment, one has to wonder 🤣. The lead actor really nailed the performance (honestly, I don't know who could play him better RIGHT NOW, since we can't expect old Robert Englund to act forever). The atmosphere is genuinely solid, there's blood up to your knees, and jump scares every few minutes, but I guess people expected too much and kept comparing it back to the original, so it just didn't land the way they wanted.
