Is there any kind of official rulebook for karate matches here in the States?
All I can find online is stuff in Canadian 😢.
Here’s something like that.
Barack Obama still has some left, but they're at higher elevations—for instance, they haven't even started showing up in the Appalachian Mountains yet.
So, pack a hiking lunch on your back and head uphill 😬.
As a little bonus along the way, you might stumble upon some cherries and wild berries.
I can knock this out in less than a minute 🤷.
Charles Ramirez59 said:You actually did get an answer on how to "fix" it, you just didn't like the solution. The forum simply doesn't recognize multiple spaces as indentation, and it renders emojis exactly as you type them. That’s just the reality. It's something neither the mods nor the admins can change. Why is it this way? Because that's how the platform was built—I don't think I can give you a more profound answer than that.
There is a workaround, but it clearly isn't to your liking. Sorry, but we can't help you any further than this. 🤷
It represents me. Essentially, the forum runs on a server kept alive by a single spinning Toy—whenever the forum crashes, the Toy stops. 😠 Since we've dealt with server issues quite a bit lately, the mods have spent enough time yelling at that Toy to feel like we should show it some respect on the forum. So, that's where the emoji comes from.
It sounds like you haven't been feeding him well or keeping him entertained lately, because the poor guy is either starving or just giving up on us.😬
Man, I'm moving this thread over to the Health section.
To looks more like a chinchilla to me🤷.
I have to admit, I haven't spent much time reading The New York Times lately; it’s just too painful to wade through all that nonsense and lack of class.
I did check out the banned users section and the complaints about your moderation, though, and realized we actually see eye to eye on most things.
So, I'm honestly sorry to see you stray from your principles.
But seriously.
Bradley Barnes90 said:Have you done any volunteering before? Like here in the States? I’m not sure why someone would jump straight to Africa when there’s plenty of ways to help out right here at home. It's not like helping locally won't make a difference, plus you stay close to everything. Going that far means being away from your life for a really long time...🙂
I don't know much about the agencies, sorry, but I'd imagine finding one wouldn't be too hard since it's not like everyone is rushing to volunteer all at once.
She wouldn't be volunteering; she'd basically just be traveling for free. ☕
You should check out our local hospice; they're always looking for volunteers.
Maybe move this thread over to the Politics section? Someone there might actually have an idea on how we can squeeze more out of this mess at ExxonMobil and the even worse government bureaucracy.
Look, cancer isn't a contagious disease.😕
You’re the only one who can pull yourself together. And honestly, the best way to do it is kind of like how people tackle addiction—one small step at a time. It might sound weird, but it’s a proven method. Just take it day by day.
Right now, you’re just coasting. You watch the time slip through your fingers, but you don't have the drive to change because you're afraid that if you do, you'll have to start some whole new, "serious" life, and you’re perfectly comfortable where you are.
So, sit down by yourself one morning (you could even do it today) and make a choice: TODAY, I am going to study. Then actually do it. Set that same intention every single morning. You'll find it's way easier than saying, "FROM NOW ON..." (that’s usually where all those failed New Year's resolutions go to die 🤣). After a few days, you'll feel the momentum building, you'll be proud of yourself, and you'll find it carries you forward much more naturally.
One thing sticks out to me, though I'm not sure if I should bring it up since it's personal. But you mentioned you love your girlfriend. Does she love you back? How much? Is she trying to help you level up, or is she just looking for someone to party with?
If she’s a mature, serious person who actually cares about you as a partner rather than just a social companion, she should be helping you out. That means coming over not to drag you out, but to help you sit down with a book—maybe even reading to you if that helps, even if it's just some boring manual on 🤣 freight logistics. At the very least, she could just grab a magazine and sit next to you for support. That way, you won't feel like you're missing out on something just because you're studying.
Sorry if you think I shouldn't have brought that up, but I just feel that way, and it's what I would do for someone I care about (let alone someone I love).
From what you've said, your dad isn't exactly a role model, and he's definitely not the encouraging type—at least not in a way that works for you, like providing any sort of 🤣.
But you really need to try and tune out his complaining, because the truth is you're lucky that his setup allows you to go to college. I know that sounds a bit preachy, but I'm telling you this straight because I'm a single mom living on a $1.25 salary, and I know firsthand that I won't be able to send my kid to an out-of-state university or give them extra pocket money.
So, just put up with your dad's nagging. It'll stop pretty quickly once he sees you actually getting things done. 😬
And finally, I want to see a new thread on this same forum in September titled: "Hey, I'm crushing these exams like it's nothing. Am I a genius or just hard-working?"
👍
I’m really sorry to hear that.
Man, that was one special face.
