Honestly, this feels more like a blatant Verizon commercial than anything else they’re actually trying to promote. All I really care about is making sure they aren't crawling all over my phone, stripping away my private data and photos like some kind of digital scavenger. If they weren't such a massive privacy nightmare, maybe I'd actually bother downloading the app and trying to help out where I can, but why would I?
Has anyone actually messed around with this Dream Lab app yet? If you have, can you please just tell me if the damn thing actually works properly or if I'm just wasting my life on it?
It’s easy for people living abroad to talk, but what about the locals right here in the States who keep voting for these absolute thieves? Instead of this party just quietly fading into irrelevance, they’re still running circles around us back home. 🤦 Way to go, Republicans 👋 Maybe for once we’ll actually get someone in office who genuinely wants to see some positive change in this godforsaken country 👍
ironpanther5 said:Look, I’m certainly no fan of the Democratic Party, but... 🎉
Anyone out there voting for the absolute worst option—or even just choosing the lesser of two evils—is essentially just voting for evil. Between the various fringe parties, the radicals, and those "for the family" types, there's a little bit of chaos for everyone to go around.
It is honestly embarrassing to see that among the 18-to-30 demographic, the Democrats are sitting at 29% while the Republicans are at 21%. It turns out nearly half of our young people are actually casting votes for total disaster. I mean, sure, we could point back to 2003, or the scandals of 2007, or even how things went down in 2011, but after a term like this one? I was reading some poll recently—maybe it was from CNN, so take it with a grain of salt—but it looked like over 50% were leaning that way.
I get it, the older generation is obsessed with the old ways; they probably lived through enough history to feel entitled to their views, but as for the kids? Honestly, we should just send them all to boarding school in Switzerland to get some actual discipline and bring them back when they turn 18.
You're talking about "evil" and then you go and label them a "smart" choice? Give me a break, they are the definition of ultimate evil. The Republicans and Democrats might just be common thieves, but these other fringe groups... I don't even have the words to describe how bad they are. The GOP crowd knows how to spin their nonsense to fleece everything possible from the American taxpayer, while these idiots actually believe every single lie coming out of their mouths.
Anyway, only truly sick or mentally unstable people would ever vote for them. There, I said it. ☕
My uncle and my grandfather planted a deep love for this country right in my heart, so I don't feel the need to go around shouting "America, America" at the top of my lungs.
🙏🙏
The comments underneath are honestly gold.🤣
When I first read this, I genuinely thought everyone was just trolling him, but looking at those top comments...
Joe Lukac: That's how true patriotism works, you carry it in your heart, and every real American who loves their homeland feels the exact same way. Thank God most people still do. Victory belongs to us because on November 8th, 2015, the American people are going to finally have their say at the polls and tell them, "We've had enough of the lies from the party and the secret police!" "Enough is enough!
I get what you're saying, but that doesn't mean I can't enjoy the damn thing. Personally, I thought it was a solid flick. I mean, hell, it’s about as mafia as it gets 😁 Johnny Depp was incredible, and man, I really hope he makes a comeback to those wild, crazy roles of his.
Hey guys, can I get a quick reality check on this? I’m definitely keeping the hard drive and the RAM. Also, just so you know, the power supply is a Thermaltake ATX12V.
At least Zoran Milanović has shown that when he’s being an arrogant jerk, he does it right in front of everyone instead of just acting out against his own people. Most of these other spineless losers are rude to their own citizens but then immediately tuck their tails between their legs the second some foreign power says something 🤣
Look, at least he actually stood his ground, and honestly, I think he could have done way more if the political landscape wasn't such a mess and he knew how to play the game better. There are times when you have to be sharp and aggressive, but there are also times—like when you're trying to close a deal on a brand new fleet of cars—where you really need to be a bit more polite.
Signed by Phil, who’s had a pretty similar life path to plenty of other Americans. I don't recall anyone ever throwing stones at some government building just because they didn't want us in their country. There's no such thing as a free ride. They just toss you aside like a piece of trash, leaving you to scramble for a place to stay both here in the States and abroad—even though you weren't exactly welcome anywhere to begin with—all while our fathers were out there fighting wars.
They probably realized that most of these refugees are men.
Basically, one asylum seeker equals at least four people. Once they get their paperwork sorted, they’ll likely drag the whole family over here too. So, you take those 800,000 refugees and before you know it, we're looking at 4 or 5 million in just a few years.
But honestly, I’m just wondering since when did Syrians become Black, or since when did the Syrian flag start looking like the Pakistani or Afghan flag?
This is a heavy topic, and honestly, there isn't one right answer to it. It’s obvious as day that people fleeing crises need help—that goes without saying for anyone in trouble—but at some point, you have to respect basic rules and social norms.
Larry Fox5 had some good experiences, whereas my own run-ins with folks from Turkey were, frankly, pretty terrible. But hey, I get it, a hundred different people means a hundred different stories.
Look, not every asylum seeker is a thief, a criminal, or a terrorist, but it's just as naive to assume they're all saints who only moved here looking for a better life.
That’s why Americans who are looking for reasons to hate on Syrians will find plenty of dirt, while someone determined to see them in a positive light will find plenty of good things too.
But we absolutely have to separate the rotten elements—who should be kicked straight to hell—from the "decent" ones who actually want to blend in and contribute. We need to set some standards. Asylum seekers should be making an effort to find work instead of just living off the system; they need to learn how this country works and pick up the language, and they MUST respect the laws of the land they're in! You can't just show up, complain after three months that things aren't like back home, and start demanding changes, because there's a huge risk that if they cluster in one spot, they'll gain too much influence and start demanding special privileges—like bilingual signs or building minarets and whatever else.
Kevin Cox said:Treating God as a person or some kind of interventionist entity is just childish. It’s like how kids get scared when there's thunder because they think God is angry. Taking the Bible literally is wrong, foolish, and frankly dangerous. The US isn't 6,000 years old, and the things written in the Old Testament shouldn't be taken as literal fact. On the contrary. Then we get to what Casey White13 wrote about original sin. It didn't originate with Adam and Eve, so it isn't something passed down through generations. The whole thing is likely symbolic, which is true for about 99% of religion. That logic even extends to why priests practice celibacy...
Priests in robes; confession; blood and wine; "peace be with you"... It’s all symbolism.
If God is truly good, like the catechism preaches, He’ll be looking at whether someone is a good person, not whether they pay their annual dues to their parish. If your own mother and father are willing to forgive the biggest mistakes you make in life, then God—if He exists—as the pinnacle of love and nature, would be ready to forgive much more. And doubt? Doubt is just part of being human. It’s a part of our intelligence, and that's exactly why it manifests in our most intelligent beings.
The reason it’s actually worth sticking to Christianity and Catholicism is the tradition. That’s how America (and its various regions) developed throughout history, and it's why it stands apart from the rest of the world. The modern era is a strange one because by distancing itself from not just Christianity, but the customs that come with it, America risks losing its identity to the growing influence of other cultures in certain areas. That’s the core of it. So, even if you don't believe, at least respect the tradition.
Man, this 🙏 🙏 God, I was in New York over the weekend and I swear, walking through the city, I couldn't believe how many wrapped-up rugs were being hauled through the streets—seriously, felt like more than half the people! Everything is just going to hell thanks to this whole liberalism thing. Everyone is so busy trying to please everyone else that countries like Sweden end up dealing with the exact mess they deserve. They’re stripping flags and symbols out of schools, hospitals, and all these public institutions. I'm not a believer, and yeah, I'm against removing symbols from government buildings, but if that's the price we pay, then fine, I'll take the symbols over this nonsense any day.
P.S. Happy Victory Day, a little late. Let them suffer. ☕
ruggedjackal46 said:Nolan’s take on Batman actually starts with an interesting premise: how do you actually drop larger-than-life characters like Batman and the Joker into a gritty, grounded reality? I still think you could pull that off in a city like Chicago or New York, but I don't think Nolan quite nailed it. Honestly, it feels like he just lacked the creative spark or the sheer intellect to make it work.
The first movie is just plain boring. The second one is decent enough, but the Joker doesn't really have a coherent motivation; he's just pure chaos for the sake of chaos—which works, sure, but it feels inconsistent with everything else. As for the third one? It feels like the script was written by someone on a heavy psychedelic trip; nothing about it makes sense.
Now, Burton’s Batman movies? At least they leaned into a stylized, vibrant world filled with eccentric characters and that classic Prince soundtrack. Total approval from me. ☕
So wait, you're telling me the movie that actually gives you deep characterization and a realistic reason for why things are happening is "boring," but the second one, which just jumps headfirst into the action without any real motivation, is somehow "good"??
bluenomad2 said:Just chill out and stop being so rude. Honestly, all you do is parrot whatever garbage you read online like some mindless bird. In my book, this movie is just decent—it’s definitely not a masterpiece. There is absolutely nothing about the acting, the script, or the directing that elevates it to that level. It just leans on that whole "HOPE" theme that Hollywood is obsessed with. If you want to talk about actual greatness, 'It's a Wonderful Life' eats Rocky and Shawshank for breakfast when it comes to themes like that. That's how you make a legendary film. Everything is subjective, and clearly, you just don't get it. Everyone here is just sharing their own damn opinion. Unlike you, I don't give a single crap about what IMDb or the Academy thinks, but you've proven time and again that those are the only "arguments" you actually rely on.
The rewatch value of 🙏
For me, Goonies has way more rewatch power than Odyssey or Network. Much higher 🙏
First off, what exactly did I read and then repeat like a parrot? Second, what kind of (un)subjectivity are you even talking about here? Third, when and how many times have I actually used IMDb or Oscars as a reference? 🤣
Are you totally losing your mind, or did you mistake me for someone else? 🤣
Rocky > It's a Wonderful Life ☕
I mean, if a movie is supposedly "top tier" to you, shouldn't you be watching it over and over? Or are you just some special case who only watches "great" movies once and spends all your time rewatching total trash?
Peter Thompson4, it was always going to be a question, just a basic one.
Do you think the academy is overhyping him, or are people like friends and acquaintances just talking him up too much?
Personally, I think Rocky is way better than those other two, and I'd take a rewatch of Rocky over Taxi Driver or Network any day of the week. In my opinion, it just has more staying power when you want to watch something again. As for Taxi Driver, I watched it once or twice and that was pretty much it for me.
Sure, those movies are trash too, but that's besides the point. Look, Sylvester Stallone is a legend, but you guys are completely missing the reason why. He and Arnold Schwarzenegger have been the absolute kings of action from the 80s all the way up to today. Both of them have hit movies (first Rambo, The Terminator, Total Recall), solid movies (Rocky, Terminator 2, Conan, True Lies), and then they have their bad ones (Cobra, Commando). Okay, fine, there are more bad ones, but hey, they're fun to watch.
And honestly, Rocky is massively overrated. By today's standards, it's almost kind of a joke. I mean, how does that movie win an Oscar before Network and Taxi Driver 🤦
What even are you talking about? You basically just repeated everything I already said.
So, when you say Rocky is overrated, are you talking about what the audience thinks or what the Academy thinks?
