27" monitor recommendations? in Computer Peripherals ·
Regarding this specific build:

Motherboard:
MSI X79A-GD65-8dfr soc2011 (military class III) + Thermaltake Frio Advanced CPU Cooler

CPU:
Intel Core i7-3930K

RAM:
2 X DDR3 8GB Corsair 1600 C8 VG

Graphics Cards:
2 X MSI R6990 4GB DDR5

SSD:
OCZ 240GB Vertex3

HDD:
2 X WD 2Tb, WD2002FAEX 64Mb SATA3

Power Supply:
Corsair 1200 w AX

Sound Card:
Creative Labs X-Fi Fatal1ty titanium PCI-e

Optical Drives:
2 X LG BH10LS30 Blueray DVDRW

Case:
HAF x 942 + Additional CoolerMaster Fan 200mm BlueLED

Gaming is my sole focus; nothing else interests me. Price is irrelevant. I am looking for recommendations on reputable US-based retailers. I require a 120 Hz refresh rate. My current setup includes a Samsung HDTV T27A750 3 D monitor. While it functions adequately as a television, it is an absolute failure for gaming purposes. Is it not better to retire it as a dedicated monitor and repurpose it as a bedroom TV for playing optical media? I am open to international vendors such as Amazon or eBay as well. It would be a shame to leave the potential of such a configuration untapped. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.
Razer Naga in Computer Peripherals ·
fadedstag6 said:I am considering picking up one of these mice, but I wonder if there is a significant difference between the Razer Naga, the Razer Naga Molten, and the Razer Naga Epic (aside from a $$100 price gap 😁)?
What are your experiences with these models? Is it worth the investment?
Thanks.

The Razer Naga and the Razer Naga Molten Edition are essentially identical wired mice. The standard Naga features a plain blue design, whereas the Molten version sports some red tribal pattern on the back, making it look almost like a swamp creature breathing under your hand😱. The Naga Epic, however, is a wireless model. All three are highly capable and comfortable for MMO gaming. If I had to find a flaw, it would be that you have to adjust the DPI through the software rather than using dedicated buttons on the fly. It’s a one-time setup, so it isn't a dealbreaker. Currently, I have the Molten Edition sitting right next to my Logitech G9x. My recommendation? Go with Logitech. Aesthetics aren't everything 🙄; after all, there is the Razer Imperator, which doesn't come with a million buttons but still gets the job done perfectly enough...

No. You have condylomas. Pay attention to hygiene—not just yours, but your partner's too. Do it for her, if not for yourself, since it's already too late for you.☕, here is some fresh paranoia 😉 for the

Mouse, keyboard, and mouse pad recommendations? in Computer Peripherals ·
Mark Hall5 said:Hey everyone, I'm looking to pick up some more serious gaming gear for Christmas. I need a solid gaming keyboard, a mouse with adjustable DPI up to 2000, and a decent mouse pad. Any suggestions?

I’d prefer a keyboard with blue lighting; I think I saw a Razer model that looked interesting.

Thanks!

Corsair K70 RGB Pro gaming keyboard, black, USB
Razer Naga laser mouse, 5600dpi, black, USB
Razer Vespula mouse pad, wrist rest, black

A sleek all-black setup—the mouse and keyboard both feature blue lighting 😁 for about $667-a 😁
Best controller for Democratic Party games? in Computer Peripherals ·
Raymond Hughes said:I’m looking to pick up a controller for the Democratic Party games, budget is $350, $133.

Any recommendations? Does anyone have firsthand experience with a specific model?

Thanks!

The Windows PC gaming controller, model 52A-00005, USB wired in black will be recognized instantly. It isn't just limited to the Democratic Party titles; it works with almost every major game out there. No need for tedious calibration...

Which PSU should I buy? in Desktops ·
Thanks for the input. I am putting together a beast of a build here, and whenever I land somewhere new, I tend to sink a fair amount of cash into my rig. 😁

Specifically, I am upgrading this setup:

ASUS P8P67 EVO, 1155, Intel P67, DDR3, 4 slots, 1600 MHz
Intel Core i7-2600K 3.4GHz, 1MB/8MB, 95W, Socket 1155
DDR3 8GB Corsair (2x4GB) Cors 1600 C8
PointOfView GTX 580 1536MB GDDR5 384 bit, DualDVI, mini HDMI
CORSAIR 650W, HX Series CMPSU-650HXEU, 12cm fan, ATX2
SEAGATE Barracuda XT 2000GB 7200rpm, NCQ, 64MB cache
CoolerMaster HAF 922, Midi tower without PSU, black
Kingston 128GB SSD, SSDNow V100 sat 2 2.5" Desktop Bundle

I am looking to add the following components:

1 x Graphics card, PCI Express ASUS GeForce GTX 580, 1536MB DDR5, HDMI, DualDVI, DP, HDTV
1 x Sound card, PCI Express, CREATIVE LABS X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Professional, bulk
1 x SSD 120.0 GB OCZ Vertex 3, VTX3-25SAT3-120G, SATA3, 2.5'', MLC-Chip, max up to 550/500 MB/s
1 x BD-RW LG BH10LS30, 10x, SATA, LightScribe, black, retail
1 x Cooler COOLERMASTER V8, socket 775/1156/1155/1366/AM3/AM2/AM2+
1 x Fan COOLERMASTER 200mm, red LED, 19db, R4-LUS-07AR-GP

That is why I was eyeing a 1000 W power supply. Does 850W feel a bit tight? Am I overthinking it? 😬

If 850W is sufficient, then I will simply go with the 850W CORSAIR HX series.

I own this monitor, and I am wondering if it is possible to play 3D games on it using the Nvidia GeForce 3D Vision kit 😕. Hardware shouldn't be an issue; I'm running an i7 paired with SLI GTX 580

Questions about the Bose 5.1 Surround Sound System in Computer Peripherals ·
Thanks for the input, darkowl72. I did some digging and you were spot on—shielded cables are definitely the way to go. The speakers are hooked up now and they sound fantastic. It turns out I didn't actually need 65 feet for every single one; 25 feet for the fronts and 30 feet for the rears did the trick perfectly. 😬
Which PSU should I buy? in Desktops ·
Since I am limited to purchasing through Links (for my own reasons), I am wondering how good this power supply actually is. Should I wait until they restock the Corsair Professional Series HX1050 pas? Currently, they don't have them in stock.

My main question is whether the differences between these two units are minor, or if the Corsair is significantly superior. In this instance, price is irrelevant to me; I am focused purely on quality.

Thanks
Questions about the Bose 5.1 Surround Sound System in Computer Peripherals ·
What kind of replacement cables should I use for these speakers? I am looking for clear jacket wiring for the satellite speakers—roughly 65 feet for each unit. Should I be looking at 14 AWG, 16 AWG, or something else entirely? 😕

I realize this is a novice question, but isn't it better to ask now than to buy something incompatible later? Thanks. 🙂
GPU Buying Guide - (Read first post) in Desktops ·
I am looking to add a second graphics card for an SLI setup, which leaves me with two questions.

What kind of power supply capacity should I be aiming for? Furthermore, is it mandatory for the cards to be from the same manufacturer, or can I mix brands—say, an ASUS and a Zotac—as long as they both belong to the same GTX 580 series?

My current configuration is as follows:

ASUS P8P67 EVO, 1155, Intel P67, DDR3, 4 slots, 1600 MHz
Intel Core i7-2600K 3.4GHz, 1MB/8MB, 95W, Socket 1155
DDR3 8GB Corsair (2x4GB) Cors 1600 C8
PointOfView GTX 580 1536MB GDDR5 384 bit, DVX 2x, mini HDMI
CORSAIR 650W Power Supply, HX Series CMPSU-650HXEU, 12cm fan, Kingston
Kingston 128GB, SSDNow V100 SATA 2 2.5" Desktop Bundle
SEAGATE Barracuda XT 2000GB 7200rpm, NCQ, 64MB cache
LG Blueray Disc Rewriter BH10LS30 sat, 10x BD-R, SATA LightScribe
CoolerMaster HAF 922, Midi tower without PSU, black

The only one this 27'' model has is an i5.
That would run about 15 $133 bucks more.

Don't you all find that screen a bit excessive? 🤷

Edit: I'm not sure if I should attempt all these repairs myself... I'll check with the local Best Buy to see if it's even possible. So far, I've asked at the Micro Center and the local mall, but they just pointed me toward this forum. The guys over at the repair shop mentioned everything can be expanded or upgraded, among other things.

Plus, the graphics card is underpowered. If you actually managed to install an Nvidia GTX 580 (assuming that's even an option), it would cost you $6367-a 😁 lot more.

Titanic 2 in Movies ·
Honestly, if this movie doesn't mention the Bermuda Triangle, I’m not watching it. What is the point of making a film about ships that didn't sail through the Triangle and leave thirty percent of the crew as sea monsters? If it meets those two criteria, then it might actually be worth my time, even if I have to watch the CAM version without subtitles. 😬
