Sam Green73 Asks:

Look, you really didn't need to go that far with the labeling—it wasn't necessary, honestly. If you're going to make an accusation like that, maybe just show me what actual constructive writing looks like? You know, provide a real example of how to communicate without resorting to insults... I guess it wouldn't kill you to try.

Wait, are we seriously at the point where calling someone a leftist is considered some kind of slur? I mean, come on—is that really where we've landed? It’s getting to the point where you can barely breathe without someone accusing you of being politically incorrect or whatever the hell they're calling it these days. I guess people have become so incredibly thin-skinned that basic political labels feel like a personal attack—it's honestly exhausting! If labeling someone based on their actual leanings is an insult now, then what's next? Are we going to start apologizing for having an opinion entirely? It feels like we're walking on eggshells just to avoid offending someone's delicate sensibilities, and frankly, it's driving me up the wall.

So, what’s your take on all this? What are you actually thinking?

Chris Peterson53 said:And you—you’re doing exactly the same thing—making a whole lot of assumptions to fill in the gaps of your own explanation.
Based on everything we’ve seen here, it’s pretty easy to draw one conclusion: the "ministers" in this situation are actually just the forum members—and they're being insulted specifically because of that.
So, you’re telling me your own relative is sitting right there in the Department of Health? If that's the case—and let's be honest, it sounds like it—then your entire protest is nothing more than a personal vendetta. How can anyone take your grievances seriously when they're clearly colored by this blatant conflict of interest?😉

Generally speaking, "insulting" someone is such a slippery concept—both in real life and in the digital world. It’s incredibly subjective, isn't it? It all boils down to how sensitive an individual happens to be at any given moment. And you know what that means? It means lawyers are making a killing off it—especially since our legal system hasn't even begun to account for the infinite nuances between a genuine insult and, well, just being blunt.

Are you seriously suggesting we put together some kind of official forum catalog of insults?
Personally, I’d be all for it—it would certainly make my job a lot easier when trying to decipher what any given forum member is actually trying to get at...
It would be nice:
That’s a solid 30 points for insulting Čačić.
Insulting someone's mother? That’s an automatic 50-point penalty—because at the end of the day, a mother is a mother.😂
It’s an insult to our ancestors—stretching all the way back from that idiot Donald Trump down through my grandfather's generation.
It’s an insult to the entire animal kingdom—really, if you compare it to anything else...🙄

etc etc

Just so we're clear—personal attacks against other users are considered a violation here too.

I’m reading here that you—unbelievably—don't even grasp the point I'm making, which is just... well, it's unfortunate, really. Honestly.
Sam Green73 said:Insulting other forum members is strictly prohibited.
Distorting the names of fellow users or third parties in an offensive way is also against the rules.

All you have to do is actually read the rules carefully.

It’s not like you need to use logic—though it seems not everyone is equipped for such heavy lifting.

p.s.
I’d honestly love to post on a forum where people attack ideas instead of attacking the individual, but I haven't stumbled upon one like that yet.
That kind of standard isn't explicitly written in the rules, though it would certainly align with Jesus's teachings, which I personally think should be held in higher regard in a Catholic State.

p.p.s.
I'm guessing you didn't mean to, but you probably insulted both the moderators and the person you're referencing (dee) in your opening post by labeling them all as leftists.
If you've got the guts, go ahead and call dee a leftist straight to their face.
Honestly, I've grown somewhat accustomed to the insults around here.

Come on, man—I always thought you were a relatively rational person. 😁>

Look, a rule is a rule, I get it, but there’s this massive logical loophole in these forum guidelines—much like some of the laws we see here in America.

Laws are usually drafted by master logicians, not just straight-A nerds who can't see the big picture.

So, what you're saying is, I can't write Joe BidenorIvo Sanders? No, wait, apparently I *can*—it's actually preferred to say things like, "that dimwitted, acne-ridden, drooling idiot Joe Biden" or "that degenerate thief, that absolute scumbag Ivo Sanders."

Let me repeat myself: if it’s supposedly against the rules to insult anyone's parents, then it seems incredibly strange to me that people are allowed to insult "my father," Luka Bebić.

Basically, I show up to this forum, read about how my own father is being trashed, and nobody gets penalized for it—yet I’m expected to just sit here quietly and endure these vile attacks on my old man.

What a wonderful rule!

p.s.
I would love to actually post on a forum where people attack a person's actions rather than their character, but I haven't exactly stumbled upon one of those yet.
That kind of standard isn't even in the rules, though it would certainly align with Jesus's teachings, which—in my humble opinion—should probably be held in higher regard in a Catholic State.

Every rule and every law is subject to change.

If something is wrong, you have to speak up; why stay silent about such fundamental issues?

I assume you unintentionally insulted the moderators and the person you're referencing (dee) in your opening post by labeling them leftists.
Go ahead, tell dee to his face that he's a leftist, if you've got the guts.

I honestly don't follow this part... 😢
I've grown somewhat accustomed to being insulted.

Good for you, I suppose—you're a good person.
John Hill said:Would you have even bothered writing this protest if someone had called a leftist politician an idiot? You’d only be crying about moderator bias if they were slapping people down for insulting the left while letting everyone run wild against the right. If they aren't reacting to insults regardless of who they're aimed at, then this definitely isn't some political agenda thing. Public figures—especially politicians, since their calls dictate so much of our daily lives—have to be able to take a hit. They need to be ready for criticism, even when it gets nasty. At the end of the day, what people say about them is just a raw metric of how much they actually like what those politicians are doing.

I was thinking the exact same thing.
You mean you're already starting off on the wrong foot—it’s basically decided from the get-go, isn't it? You’re just assuming—I mean, you’re really out here just making assumptions without any actual proof, aren't you? It’s funny, I guess, how people jump to conclusions like that—it's almost impressive, in a misguided sort of way—but honestly, it's just plain wrong. You can't just decide something is true because it fits your narrative, you know? It doesn't work that way. Not in reality, anyway. I mean, I guess if things were flipped around—if the roles were reversed—I definitely wouldn't be the one sitting here penning some sort of protest manifesto. Not me. Probably wouldn't even have the nerve, honestly. 🙂 !!!???

Assumptions... man, they are a dangerous thing—truly. I mean, people just jump to conclusions without a second thought, and then suddenly, you've got a whole mess on your hands because nobody bothered to actually check the facts first. It’s reckless, really. I guess we all do it sometimes, but when you start building an entire argument on nothing but guesswork? That’s where the trouble starts. It’s a slippery slope, maybe even a cliff, if you ask me.

Charles Fox10 said:And honestly, why would they even care about my complaint?
Are these people sacred cows that we aren't allowed to criticize or have opinions about?
Or are you suggesting we should bring back verbal assault as a standard practice?

Look, if you’re going to act like a moderator, I guess you really ought to actually know the rules of the Politics subforum—it's not exactly rocket science, is it? Honestly, it's just common sense, but apparently, that's asking too much these days.

One of the rules is... well, I suppose you could say it's basically this:

Look, I’m just going to lay this out clearly—Article 5, Section 1 of the Code of Conduct for the US Politics subforum applies to everyone, period. That means using derogatory nicknames for fellow forum members or any third parties is strictly off the table. From this point forward, we aren't going to tolerate anyone maliciously twisting names—you know exactly what I mean, like calling Donald Trump "Sranjo," or messing with Kradimir Čačić's name, or turning Ivo Sanders into "Smranader" and all that nonsense. It goes for user handles, too. If you try to twist someone's nickname just to be a jerk, it’s going to be treated exactly the same as direct insults. Consider this your fair warning.

I honestly don't think people grasp how much this whole situation—this entire mess with the current administration—is actually tearing at the fabric of our legal system. I mean, maybe I’m just being cynical, but when you look at how certain figures in Washington are playing by their own rules instead of following the US Constitution, it’s enough to make anyone lose their mind. It feels like we're drifting further away from actual stability every single day. And then you have people like Joe Biden just... well, let's just say they aren't exactly providing the steady hand we were promised, right? It’s all just one long, exhausting cycle of political theater that leaves the rest of us picking up the pieces. I guess I shouldn't be surprised, though—given the state of things lately, surprise isn't really an option anymore. Everything feels so incredibly fractured, and frankly, it's infuriating. We need actual leadership, not just more of this endless, performative nonsense.

If you aren't allowed to write "Donald Trump" or "Kradimir Čačić" because of some arbitrary "rule"—well then, I guess you shouldn't be allowed to say that Dwyane Wade is a moron or that Čačić is an absolute idiot either, right? It just doesn't add up—honestly.

What exactly is it that you aren't grasping? I mean—really—is there some part of this that’s just flying right over your head? Because, honestly, I feel like I've laid everything out quite clearly—or at least, as clearly as one can given the circumstances—but apparently, there's still some massive gap in understanding here. I guess I should have been more explicit, maybe? But seriously, what part of this is actually confusing to you?
Charles Fox10 said:So, I was just sitting here thinking—and I mean really dwelling on it—about whether I’d actually support bringing back that whole mess regarding verbal offenses... you know, those specific legal crackdowns on what people say? Honestly, it's a tough one. I guess, if I'm being totally honest with myself, there's this part of me—this irrational, hot-headed part, I suppose—that wonders if things would be less chaotic if we had more teeth in our laws when it comes to speech. But then again, once you start opening that door, where does it end? It feels like a slippery slope, maybe even a dangerous one, especially given how much tension there is in American politics right now. I don't know... I'm torn. On one hand, you want order, but on the other, you don't want to turn the US into some kind of thought police state. It's a massive headache, really. Just a huge, complicated mess.

So, here’s how it goes.

Look, Joe Biden is practically family to me—I mean, we’re talking close ties here—so whenever someone goes out of their way to call him a monkey, by your twisted logic, I should be allowed to snap back and say, "Well, a monkey made you." It's just how the math works, I guess.

Look, I’m telling you—there’s no such thing as a verbal offense anymore—it just needs to be scrapped entirely. It’s all nonsense, really. Honestly, I’m just sitting here thinking about how much people around here love to take cheap shots at one another—it’s honestly exhausting. It feels like every time someone tries to make a point, instead of actually engaging with the argument, they just pivot straight to personal insults. It’s low-level, really. I mean, we’re all supposed to be having a discussion here, right? But no, it just turns into this constant stream of verbal abuse and petty jabs. I guess that's just how things have gone downhill lately—everyone’s so quick to lash out because they can't handle a real debate without getting defensive. It’s frankly pathetic, and it makes the whole experience feel incredibly toxic. I can't even begin to describe the absolute state of things on the forums lately—it’s just... well, it's a mess. Honestly, I feel like I’m losing my mind trying to keep up with the constant bickering and the sheer amount of nonsense being peddled by certain people. It’s exhausting, really. You go in expecting a decent discussion, maybe some actual insight into the current political climate or something useful regarding the economy, and instead? You get hit with a wall of mindless noise. It feels like everyone has an opinion on everything these days—which, okay, fine, that's the point of a forum—but there's a difference between having an opinion and just shouting into the void to hear your own echo. And don't even get me started on the specific cliques that form around certain topics. It’s like you can't have a nuanced conversation without someone jumping in to derail the whole thing with some half-baked theory or, worse, just pure vitriol. I guess I’m just getting old, or maybe I’ve just lost my patience for the performative outrage that seems to be the only currency left in online discourse. Everything is so polarized now—it’s like you’re either 100% with one side or you're the enemy. There's no middle ground, no room for a little bit of "maybe we're both wrong here," which—in my humble, perhaps overly cynical opinion—is where the most interesting stuff actually happens. Anyway, I'm probably just rambling. My bad. But seriously, does anyone else feel like they're walking through a minefield every time they log on? 🙄
I don't hang out in the politics sub much, but I honestly can't wrap my head around this section where people just toss around insults like moron, idiot, or imbecile at politicians. It makes zero sense to me.

For instance

I actually reported that guy for a similar insult once—though, naturally, nobody ever reacts.

Is this happening because the moderators are all just leftists who can't seem to separate their own feelings from the actual job of moderating? Or is this somehow actually permitted under the sub's rules? I mean, seriously.

These people calling "famous" public figures names—they clearly have no clue that maybe, just maybe, one of that politician's kids is lurking right here on this forum. Imagine if they stumble upon a post calling their mom or dad a jerk, an idiot, a slut, or some other low-life slur...

I can only imagine how that would feel. 🙂

And what happens if that person decides to strike back at the author of the "Dwyane Wade is an idiot" post with the exact same energy? Like...

"Your dad is an idiot, you little brat." ☕

I bet you anything they'd be hit with all kinds of warnings or get banned instantly. Everything in a heartbeat. 🙂

For those of you who are currently on these meds, how long did it actually take before you started feeling some kind of shift?

It’s highly likely that Faverin just isn't the right fit for your chemistry.

You really ought to tell your psychiatrist—they'll probably want to switch your prescription entirely.

Just... just try to get an installation going, for instance—maybe try installing something like Alcohol 1.9.5.3105. Just give it a shot and see what happens.

First off, Windows 7 gives you a fair warning that it won’t work—but if you decide to be stubborn, try forcing it through Compatibility Mode and pushing ahead with the installation... well, enjoy the Blue Screen of Death, because Windows 7 is going to absolutely crash. Just my two cents, I guess.

Michael Ortiz5 said:There is absolutely no excuse for hitting children with objects—belts, sticks, hairbrushes, you name it—but I don't see any harm in an occasional swat on the backside or behind the ear when necessary.

Talking things through is all well and good, but sometimes logic just doesn't cut it. Take this situation, for example:
I remember getting disciplined for the first time after I swiped candy from a convenience store for the fourth time in a row. I was four years old. For the first three times, my mom tried the gentle approach—"Sweetie, that isn't right, we don't do that." But honestly, if she hadn't finally laid down the law on that fourth attempt, I probably would have kept stealing.

What else was her mother supposed to do? Sit her down for the five-hundredth lecture? Children simply haven't developed the capacity for complex reasoning—you know, understanding cause and effect—that a rational adult possesses. That comes with age.

And looking at how many kids act these days... the screaming, the flailing, the sheer disrespect... honestly, good luck trying to reason with a little monster like that.

Yeah, and people actually label them as "indigo" children or "hyperactive." 🤮

I have a buddy—my best man—who has one of these "indigo" geniuses, and let me tell you, the kid doesn't have a shred of respect for his parents, even though both of them are professional educators here in the States.

His other son is perfectly fine, raised under the exact same circumstances, without any "discipline."

When I look at that little guy, I see nothing but pure mischief in his eyes; 🤣 he’s manipulative, cunning, and he knows exactly how to exploit his parents' kindness and manners.

If you ask me, he wouldn't be an "indigo" child—he'd just be a brat who needs some discipline.

Look, not every horse is meant for a saddle, and not every person can handle the truth, but sometimes you have to rein a horse in with a firm hand because, well, it's a HORSE—it just doesn't understand any other way of communicating.

So, if this kid starts messing around with fire on the balcony, and then everything catches fire—shutters going up, smoke everywhere—and you barely manage to stop the whole house from burning down, what would your move be?
I’d probably just sit him down and go, "Look at the mess you made, you little troublemaker..."
Honestly, I think the kid would be so terrified by seeing actual flames that they wouldn't ever touch fire again. They’d see firsthand how dangerous "playing with matches" really is. I wouldn't freak out; I’d just look at them, tell them to sit down and really think about what happened, and let them know how much their actions disappointed me (not the child themselves, obviously).

But a toddler doesn't process communication that way—though a teenager might actually get the point.

A small child sees that kind of talk as a direct attack on them, and—God forbid—it could lead to some pretty serious emotional fallout later on.

It's better to have one "disciplinary moment"😍
Why do women recognize male faces faster? in Psychology ·
From what I gather—and I could be wrong here, mind you—women tend to have a more highly developed part of the brain dedicated to spotting fine details.

Meanwhile, men seem to have a much more dominant spatial reasoning center.

There was this study done where they took groups of boys and girls and put them into a totally unmarked maze. In that scenario, about 90% of the boys managed to find their way out before the girls even stood a chance. But—and this is the kicker—once they added visual cues at every other turn, like a little flower icon or a specific picture, the script flipped entirely. Suddenly, 90% of the girls were finding the exit way ahead of the boys.

Ashley Hayes48 said:Does this mean I’ll have to go back through doctors here again😢 or can I just get it using a prescription from an American neuro-psychiatrist?

In the States, we've got Adderall, Ritalin, and Concerta.

You aren't going to be able to pull that off—not easily, anyway—even though Medicare does have agreements with medical providers over in Austria... because, see, these drugs are classified as controlled substances. It's a whole thing. You’re going to need your local prescription plus some official verification from Medicare to make it stick.
bluemason3 said:None. Do you think research studies just happen by accident?

I haven't heard anyone say it's used for "maintenance." I have heard about people getting off drugs after taking iboga, and I know it can't be addictive because the effects wear off and don't hit the same way twice (if I'm remembering correctly—and honestly, it isn't exactly a pleasant experience, so nobody is using it "recreationally" or on a regular basis). It doesn't seem like it could "maintain" someone the way methadone does. To me, they don't look even remotely similar.

The real issue with long-term addicts isn't the physical detox—clearing the drugs out of the system—it's staying clean because of those new neural pathways that formed during years of drug use.

It's just like the old rumors about LSD supposedly helping people "easily" kick alcohol addictions through hallucinations!!??

And then what!?

Hardcore addicts and severe alcoholics are still latent addicts even after they've cleaned up; they can slip back into the cycle in a month, a year, or ten years down the line.
Very few people actually stay sober for their entire lives without relapsing into alcoholism or drug use.
There are no miracle cures, no matter how romanticized that idea sounds.

Methadone is a medication prescribed for "maintenance" after the initial detox. It essentially feeds those hungry synapses and neuroreceptors that got completely messed up (read: expanded) during long-term drug abuse.

A lot of people think the struggle to maintain abstinence is purely psychological, but it really isn't—it's physiological, neurological. It's the disrupted structure of the brain cells responsible for neurotransmission.

I won't go on a tangent about alcoholics being put on maintenance, but they're often prescribed antidepressants or anxiolytics, and former drug users get Methadone on top of all those "preparations."

Because of those disruptions in the nervous system (which I'm trying my best to explain here), there is no magic plant or magic pill that can snap you back to your "original" state overnight.
bluemason3 said:So, what’s the actual process for testing any kind of psychiatric medication?

I mean... it might not be in Big Pharma's best interest, but if there's even a shred of truth to using ibogaine for addiction, I find it wild that we aren't seeing more research on it. Instead, we just keep pushing half-baked solutions like methadone. 🤔

Sure, it's all just talk right now, but that's exactly why we need to be doing the research. 🤷

Of course it's not in their interest—producing iboga is probably a hundred times more expensive than mass-producing methadone, and apparently, the results are basically the same.

Wait, which scientific journal did you read that in? Where exactly does it say that iboga is "more effective" than methadone when it comes to keeping people off harder drugs?
Come on, let's show a little empathy here—women have been under an incredible amount of stress lately, and I really think we should stop being so quick to judge.
