This was how the connection should have gone down:

And Rachel is just a total disaster. 🙂

A total disaster. It’s a desperate attempt to mash together a Pirate flick with the plot and chemistry you'd find in Mummy. The story is just tedious, and frankly, The Rock and Emily don't bring anything close to what we saw with Frazier and Rachel Weisz.

For years, he’s just been mass-blocking anyone who disagrees with him, then sneeringly labeling them "sheep," "liberals," or some other variation of a foreign operative. I assume we're talking about insults similar to this one?

electrictrucker82 said:How is it that it's always just 2 or 3 people whining about new moderation, while the rest of the 98% here are fine? Why do you keep opening these pathetic threads to complain? Maybe try adapting or stop trolling, like most of us have been telling you since day one.

What does this guy Bryan Booth82 think? Why does the vast majority of users on this site have him on ignore? And yet he keeps coming back here to moan.

Grow up, people. 🤦

That same user has been on my ignore list for ages, but despite me saying so multiple times, he still jumps at me. He shows up in everyone else's quotes constantly.

steelheron25 said:I don't believe the forum got a sponsor in the way you're thinking, but appointing a new moderator on this board is highly problematic.

The new moderator has been present in threads regarding Eastern Europe (specifically Ukraine, Russia, and Belarus) for years, and he honestly acts like a spokesperson for the Russian Federation embassy. He’s always the first to relay news from Russian media—both mainstream and obscure—with an obvious bias toward Putin's regime and policies.

That isn't a problem in itself; we live in a free country, and everyone has a right to their opinion.

What’s much more problematic is his extremely intolerant attitude toward anyone who disagrees. For years, his habit has been to put anyone he dislikes on an ignore list, then condescendingly call them "clones," "democrats," or various other insults. He also dismisses any post he doesn't like as mere "dumping" or "whining."

And now this kind of person gets moderator authority over this specific topic?

He’s supposed to respond to reports from users he personally considers "democratic degenerates"? Is that what decent moderation looks like?

Take a look at the Russia thread; it's turned into his personal blog. Everyone who had anything else to say has backed off.

Was that the goal?

Since we're advocating for democracy, shouldn't there be some order and a view from both sides? For instance, Bubbles starts the day with a post about some "evil gnome," and nobody reacts because they have the right to their opinion.
As you noted, Andrew has been active in those threads for a long time and knows the situation there better than most of us. Because of that, his contribution to the topic is significant. Whether it's news or correcting posts where articles were occasionally included with wrong translations, context, or errors. We know how that caused grumbling from the other side, leading to regular personal attacks against him.
Regarding the insults, I agree things have gone too far. But this has been happening for a long time, not just since we got a new moderator. In fact, I'd argue we should compare how many such statements come from the other side.
Maybe Andrew—not just him—wouldn't use the filter if previous discussions had been more constructive. As for calling out filtering, there's really no point in commenting on that.

Tyler Vaughn7 said:So, I’m sitting here listening to Medvedov go on about his pro-vaccination crusade, claiming The Administration has been rolling out measures that are both "timely" and "opportune." He keeps rambling on about how these measures are "necessary," but honestly, who decides what's necessary? It could be anyone—just some random individuals or specific groups deciding what the rest of us need. I mean, seriously, how does someone with that kind of logic even end up in a cabinet position?🤦

It’s simple. You play the veteran card. You set up camp on the Potomac and start a bonfire. Then, six years later, you play the soldier again, lying through your teeth that the former Prime Minister—who happens to be the current Commander-in-Chief—ignored your unit.
When you look at it that way, even a total catastrophe starts looking reasonable.

Joseph Gallic allegedly scooped up EU funds to build a massive winery out in Napa Valley. However, the European Bureau has uncovered some serious financial irregularities and is now demanding the return of $1.5 million.

The subheadline is even richer:

Terrible movie. Zero tension.

Jason Statham was much better off sticking to cameos.

Someone hit the nail on the head: he’s heading straight toward becoming a Chuck Norris or a Steven Seagal type. Though let's be honest, Chuck Norris will always be a legend, and even Seagal had his moments once upon a time.

We used to joke about how this administration compares to Vučić’s, but even they didn't try to bury a recent pedophilia scandal like this. Have we really become such a massive criminal circus?

They both share the same manager, so if they actually want this fight, it’s an easy deal to strike. Though I doubt the motivation is there—one has clearly lost his mind, and the other is too busy chasing the high life.

I’ll jump in here:

The Colleague who filed the complaint is doubling down on this, maintaining that same condescending tone:

Andrew, from what I gather, you left America when you were just a kid.
You don't live here, so you have no clue what's actually happening on the ground.
You spend too much time theorizing, making assumptions, and feeding on garbage from RT.
Maybe you fly back to the States once in a while to visit your great-grandmother for some home cooking, but that doesn't make you a modern American (no offense)
It’s better if you just act like a decent American and stop trying to comment on things in America as if you're one of us—because you AREN'T.
I respect your input as an American of foreign descent, but please for heaven's sake stop...

If you dig through the old complaints, you'll easily find plenty of instances where this user labeled anyone with a different opinion a Mexican. Here, he’s just slightly tweaked the bold rhetoric, but the point remains identical.

I honestly think anyone would lose their mind in New Orleans. That city is pure chaos. Just a total madhouse.

None of these sports docs can touch the Ayrton Senna one. Still, if this is actually a decent film, I guess I have to admit it's good.

I can't even begin to process this request. It lacks any actual content to work with. Just more noise in an already loud world. kaže:
Caught that documentary on CBS yesterday. Truly brilliant. That whole scene in New Orleans was pure madness... absolutely terrifying.

People always drone on about the madness in New Orleans, but they have no idea. That's nothing compared to where he actually came from—Brazil. By the time he was fifteen, he was already a god there.

The vibe at Yankee Stadium:

I watched that clip. Another hollow spectacle. Reminds me of watching a losing season at Madison Square Garden—all noise, no substance. Just more empty promises.

Trouble is brewing in paradise. Our democratic ally Saudi Arabia just slapped an embargo on imports from Turkey, and I wouldn't be surprised if the rest of the Gulf monarchies follow suit.
The big question mark remains the United Arab Emirates. They’ve been playing along with Saudi Arabia lately, though we all know they’re usually the ones pulling the strings behind the scenes.

Is there anyone left who hasn't earned the wrath of the Sultan?
Since Bubi isn't around to deal with this, and the blatant insults and constant nationalistic labeling just won't stop, I’m calling for moderator intervention. I try to give people the benefit of the doubt for at least 24 hours, but this is getting ridiculous. One user is just attacking anyone who disagrees with him:

Color revolutions have become an end in themselves, driven by politicians with the intellectual depth of a toddler. If it suits them, it’s "regime change" or "supporting the opposition." Most don't even know who they're actually backing. The worst part? Even those bureaucrats in the EU have started adopting this tired rhetoric.

Nobody is defending Erdogan, but at the end of the day, Americans aren't the ones who should be choosing the Turkish president. Only Turks have that right.

A local politician is putting on a performance titled "Nothing Will Tear Us Apart" 😲 right at the entrance to the Republican Party headquarters, making a pointed jab at the connections between the local politician and the party leadership.

This is bound to bring some much-needed color back to the pale face of our anemic Prime Minister.

Just a reminder of what one Constitutional Court judge actually thought about the legality of the headquarters back in March. Now? It looks significantly worse:

Just last year, he was acting all high and mighty with the Conflict of Interest Commission—claiming he didn't need to hand over any data (even though the law says he absolutely has to) because, according to him, they already had everything they needed.

It’s worth remembering that right after Dalija Orešković Plenković left, he personally appointed the new head of the commission. And guess what? The commission called him out for lack of transparency again. Honestly, how much of a bloated narcissist do you have to be to keep landing in these exact same messes?
