You hit the nail on the head.☕ 🙏

Sure, he’s at fault for diving in like that, but honestly, that doesn't change the fact that Kimi was just sitting in the wrong spot.☕

neonharbor18 said:Honestly, it feels incredibly weird to me how Kimi Räikkönen and Robert Kubica were lined up right next to each other; I’m surprised Hamilton didn't just smash straight into Kimi when the lights went green during the pit exit, because most likely those two would have just wrecked each other🤷 I find that whole way they stood before the light pretty strange, like, is that even allowed?😕

It makes perfect sense to me what came out of the BMW pit wall about Nick Heidfeld letting Fernando Alonso pass since he was losing precious seconds holding him up; for instance, Sebastian Vettel was steadily catching up to Rubens Barrichello and probably would have overtaken him too if he hadn't spent those last ten laps busy defending against Heikki Kovalainen, so if he had cleared Kovalainen without any hassle, or if Kovalainen had just eased off to give Vettel some room, both of them would have jumped Rubens instantly to take 7th and 8th, putting them right in the mix to chase down Vettel.☕

Kimi should have waited behind Kubica, but maybe he was looking to make a move on him coming out of the pits🤷 so he pulled up alongside him instead.

Bradley Nelson2 said:just some poor, oppressed guy... basically someone who happened to wear the same color helmet as everyone else. even if he's the one actually at fault, he'll still act like a martyr while his fans rally behind him like it's their job.🤮
God, I hate corporate marketing.🤮

Oh, really?🤷

I’m asking the mod to step in and penalize this kind of instigation from Maria Nelson2.

You've been begging for favors a lot lately; anyone would think you're getting desperate.😁

Austin Evans said:and that Raikkonen-esque comment:

Maybe Kimi was just trying to squeeze through the pits🤷 instead of pulling up behind him, so he ended up alongside the BMW rather than directly behind, which isn't exactly his fault, but I guess you have to look at it that way.

It might look weird from our perspective right now, but an F1 car doesn't have the same steering angle as a regular street car, and I doubt they’re hitting the brakes the same way either, though if you actually watch closely, you can see that even if he was late on the entry, he still cranked the wheel all the way and braked, just a bit behind the curve. 🤷

Honestly, giving him a ten-place grid penalty feels completely brainless...

because if we’re being fair, take someone like DC who caused collisions twice in a row and nobody even blinked at him. 🤷

True, it's totally ridiculous, and why give Nico Rosberg a penalty too??? What's the point in that?

Sirin's F1 car is only about 6 feet wide, and looking at the shot, there's easily over 13 feet of open road on the left side. I honestly have no idea what kind of narrow backroads you're driving on if you actually think two semi-trucks couldn't pass each other on this stretch without a problem. ☕

I mostly just hop in a helicopter anyway, though I do hit the highways every now and then.
You drive a truck?🤷Just a little pickup.😲

I honestly can't wrap my head around how Lewis Hamilton couldn't just pull it together... though it’s an even bigger mystery to me how Rosberg, just rolling along at 1.9 miles/h, managed to slam right into Lewis like that.

There just wasn't enough room to breathe—not that he couldn't have avoided it if he'd been more careful—but he came flying out of the pits, Kimi slammed on the brakes, and then Lewis swerved left at the last second, and all it takes is one tiny little tap to wreck the front end, and just like that, it's over. 🤷

To top it all off, they're handing him a 🤷 10-place grid penalty for the next race.

feraltrucker5 said:It’s not like Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg are colorblind; they’re just completely blind. 🙄 I might be misremembering, but if I recall correctly, there was enough room on Kimi Raikkonen's left side for a whole fleet of semi-trucks, so if this "massive talent" couldn't manage to steer around him, he might as well have just given up. It's a hell of a job for an F1 driver, trying to actually track where their car is at 50 miles/h 🙄

Kudos to BMW, and I really hope they keep this momentum going through the rest of the season because I'm dying to see a real title fight between Raikkonen-Massa-Kubica 😉

edit: watched the replay again: it wasn't even a matter of finding space for an F1 car next to Raikkonen; there was enough room for two massive Mack trucks to pass him 🙄 Lewis Hamilton 🙂 🤣

Two trucks? 😕 It's not like Lewis Hamilton is the only one struggling with his vision ☕

Enough to wreck both cars, anyway.☕

Jason Campbell70 said:Just thinking out loud here, but imagine if the whole thing had flipped and Kimi Räikkönen was the one who shoved Lewis Hamilton or knocked him out of the race.

He’d probably be looking at a lifetime ban, or something close to it, at the very least.👎

If he were still driving for MCM, he almost certainly would be.😉

What an absolute mess😲

It looks like Adrian Sutil was reading Hamilton's mind out there, just trying to fix whatever weird chemistry went sideways during the last race.😁
