Don't you see the admin moved it to the Trash instead of the MK mods doing it?

I wasn't even bringing up how the moderators handle things, I just meant it hasn't been that long since we've seen threads with great discussions get tossed into the bin rather than just being cleaned up and kept on MK...
Who's moving them there or what the reasoning is, I'm not really getting into that side of it...
Isn't it better for everyone if we try to make MK more engaging, instead of just cycling through the same old topics over and over again...🤷
Aaron Harris2 said:Personally, I didn't have enough time during those few hours to give that thread the attention it deserved (it really needed about an hour of cleaning up all the trolls and insults), especially with so many high-quality posts being written...
I feel bad it turned out this way, because if I had been able to clean everything up immediately, the thread would still be active right now. And plenty of people would have ended up banned too... 😁

The way I see it, it wasn't unfairly moved to where it is. The topic itself is actually super interesting to me, because there are definitely people who don't want kids, some find the idea repulsive, and others just prioritize their careers over starting a family...

Nobody expects the moderators to be online twenty-four seven, but if there are ten solid posts, that thread is worth saving...
Is there anything that can be done about that...😁

Well, there's been a similar thread floating around for quite a while now, one where everyone was debating whether we actually need to dump this topic into the trash bin...🤷

It honestly feels like just another case of that classic MK syndrome...🙄
How do I start missions? in Miscellaneous ·
Over in San Diego, there's this group called Zdenac that sends people out on missions too, though their programs tend to be a bit more long-term... but they might still be able to point you toward the right doors...

If you check out the Craigslist section, there are plenty of folks who handle stuff like that, so just take a look at that PDF...😉
Honestly, why not just have them send over that prescription and call it a day, instead of making such a huge production out of everything...
Just give your doctor a quick ring and they can send the script right over, so there’s really no need to even swing by the office if you're having any trouble getting there...

hollowmason64 said:I honestly can't tell if she’s even cut out for moderating. I mean, she hasn't even finished her degree yet, and from what I can see, she hasn't even found some poor guy willing to marry her... 🙂

Well, when everyone starts jumping on the bandwagon, I guess there’s no point in resisting—I might as well follow the crowd too. 🤣

Can I go ahead with this? 👋

I'm starting to lose my cool almost as much as Dobrica Seselj does. 😬

If that doesn't count as an argument, I really don't know what does... 😁

I’m going to be an admin eventually, I guess. It's just a matter of time. 😳

Imagine what one of her moderator warnings would look like:

Classic...😍

Maybe you'd stop trolling if I asked nicely? image

I'm already trolling enough as it is; I won't be able to punish anyone if I can't even punish myself.
😳

But seriously, I have a problem. My laptop just died on me—pretty sure a mouse crawled inside and fried it. Now I've lost all my notes! And they were actually important; I had those pages full of smiley faces saved there.
🙂 Can someone send me a link to some smileys? Thanks a bunch!
😳
Here we go again, the smileys aren't loading! What am I supposed to do now?
🤷 This is driving me crazy! How can people get away with using so few emojis?

Jane Doe for mod (and admin later). 🙂

Jane Doe, you've got me totally confused here...
What's this all about being a mod now, and why am I sending these random vibes to the wrong person, someone please catch me up 😳

That’s definitely your cheapest bet since Walmart is just a total rip-off with those sneaky fees...

But seriously, with PayPal being such an option, I can't imagine who would actually think it's a good idea to send cash in an envelope...😁

She’s always been airheaded, whether she was in Italy or India...
It probably would have been cheaper if she'd just stayed home and found a psychiatrist like most other Americans.

🤣

Total waste of time. The whole thing feels incredibly hollow and shallow...
Between that ridiculous Italian accent of hers and how she totally twists the idea of meditation while searching for "inner peace"... 😱

Did she spend less time meditating and more time hanging out with Javier? 😬
I know I definitely would...

I haven't really followed any of the drama outside of the movie itself, mostly because the film was just okay, so I didn't feel much of a need to dig deeper...
So, basically, she just took the money, hit those three destinations like they agreed, and then turned around and wrote a book?

Since the last time I asked her for that tiny favor, we haven't actually crossed paths yet.

It’s probably for the best that you didn't run into her.
She’s really just using you, so try to stay level-headed and when she inevitably shows up next time to ask for money or something similar, don't give in—just tell her you're completely broke...

I’m honestly a bit confused by all of this...
To be fair, I don't get why people you aren't even close with have such nerve asking to borrow money, but what exactly are you expected to provide for them?😕

Honestly, OP, you should just take being ignored as a blessing and move on from someone like that as fast as possible...
This person sounds completely irresponsible, constantly running up debts, and they've got this vague situation involving a husband they won't even talk about, which makes it feel like you just happened to cross their path right when they were looking for a way to indulge themselves, while you're sitting there with your protective and savior instincts kicking in, which is a pretty tricky headspace to be in, so you might be better off putting that energy into people who actually know how to value it...😉

In this movie, my absolute favorites were definitely Javier Bardem and that soundtrack by Bebel Gliberto 😍
Everything else was just okay, I guess 😬
The plot felt kind of empty to me, especially since her whole journey and spiritual transformation didn't really feel believable...
500 Days of Summer (2009) in Movies ·
Joshua Smith5 said:Well, what is actually original these days? Even the split screen concept has definitely been used before (though perhaps not in this specific expectations vs. reality format).

But when Hollywood delivers a rom-com that is anything but a rom-com—when it tells you in the first minute that this isn't a love story, that it's just "boy meets girl, boy falls in love, girl doesn't"—I’d say that takes some guts. It’s an authorial choice to reject the average Joe audience right out of the gate, people who spend the whole film hoping it's just a writer's trick and that they'll end up together... only to find out they don't.

Regarding the split screen and the gap between expectation and reality, I'd argue that the 500 Days of Summer is also, in my opinion, just 500 days of Tom's version of events—the perspective of a man so head over heels he only sees what he wants to see...

Tom is the focal point. Summer doesn't have friends she talks to about him; she's just a force of nature that drifts in and out of his life. I don't think that was an accidental choice by the writers or the director....

The more I think about "(500) Days of Summer," the more I actually like it.

Exactly...
Honestly, I’d much rather see someone take classic ideas and give them a warm, fun spin like this movie did, instead of people trying way too hard to be original just for the sake of it, only to end up making something totally unwatchable 😬

Jeremy Alvarez5 said:I find this whole topic pretty fascinating, mostly because I’ve always had a really solid sense of direction. I guess I just intuitively track how sunlight moves or whatever, so staying oriented comes naturally to me...

The thing that really sticks out to me, though, is seeing people absolutely spiral into a panic when they lose their bearings. It seems like some folks just don't have that internal compass—usually women, though I've seen guys like it too. I remember this one guy who insisted on taking the absolute longest route through downtown; he was honestly harder to navigate than a Greyhound bus 😬. There was zero chance he’d take a shortcut if we tried, even when three or four of us were yelling at him to turn 😁...

It makes me wonder, maybe there's some sort of minor trauma involved for some people? I'm curious if anyone can recall the very first time they felt totally lost. What was happening? What were the circumstances? I mean, did you deal with that overwhelming sense of fear or pure panic, or maybe you were getting chewed out by your parents for losing the way... something like that...

I was always pretty hopeless when it came to directions, even back when I was just a little kid, and I'd find myself getting lost all the time...
Naturally, a certain level of fear sticks with you, like that tightness in your chest whenever I'd lose my way in a department store (though we didn't have massive shopping malls like 😬 does nowadays) or out somewhere in the woods. It was always the same pattern where I’d get totally distracted by something simple, like picking wildflowers, and then suddenly realize I had no idea where I was... I'd try to find my way back, and when that didn't work, the panic would just skyrocket. Usually, I'd end up screaming until someone finally found me after a little while...

Nowadays, I've just traded the wildflowers for gardening 😁, but I still find myself losing my bearings quite regularly, so I always make sure to grab onto someone or keep at least one person in my line of sight just to be safe...

The other day, I actually managed to get lost right in the middle of downtown.🤦 Just some random streets I never normally walk down.🙄

But the best part? I have zero clue if I’m heading north, south, east, or west!🙏 I honestly can't tell where I am in relation to where I started—it's like being stuck in some massive maze!🤣🤣 😢

I totally get where you're coming from, girl 🙂
People actually let me head out first just to watch me struggle, and then they start teasing and laughing about which direction I ended up wandering off in...🤣

Back when I was out hiking with the scouts, they really tried to teach me how to find my way around, but there’s a massive difference between knowing the theory in my head and actually being able to use it without feeling completely lost in practice...
I honestly have zero sense of direction; if you spin me around left and right a couple of times, I’ll have absolutely no clue where I am anymore...
And don't even get me started on parking garages, those places are a total nightmare for me because even when I'm staring right at the signs, I still can't figure out which way I need to turn to find my car... everything just looks identical...
It’s easy enough when you're out in nature along the coast where you've got the mountains on one side and the ocean on the other, but once I wander behind one of those hills 😱

I honestly have zero sense of direction myself 😬
Finding my car in a crowded parking lot at a mall, remembering which side the door is on, or even just trying to navigate a hiking trail without getting totally turned around... I'm just hopeless at it all...
Do you actually know what you want out of life? in Psychology & Therapy ·
Raymond Bishop41 said:I’ll check back in if I come up with anything useful—mostly regarding what I actually want out of life...😍
I try to be pretty realistic and objective when looking at my own goals versus what’s actually possible, but there’s this gap: what’s currently on the table just doesn't hit the mark emotionally...
I guess the happiest people are the ones who actually get to do what they love, rather than just doing whatever they have to because better options aren't around.
So, here’s where I am—my big goal is to find a career that actually feels fulfilling. How to actually make that happen? Well, that’s a whole different story...

A little while back, I totally walked away from my first major university program after realizing that path just wasn't for me, so I decided to call it quits on everything there.
And honestly, I was pretty much at a complete loss for what to do next...
I spent days and days pouring over every single resource on career counseling, basically scrolling through every single course offered at various colleges just to see if anything caught my eye, weighing the pros and cons of different industries against the kind of lifestyle I really want to live, just everything... It went on for months.
I guess you really have to deconstruct that "dream job" idea for yourself...
Think about what actually makes you happy, what kind of office culture you'd thrive in, whether there's room to keep learning and moving up, which specific niche fits... Hopefully, you'll start finding some real answers eventually...😁
