10,000 cigarettes for a wheelchair? in Health ·
Karen Reed18 said:I honestly think we could fix this with some better community initiatives.

Ten thousand slips of paper equals ten thousand packs of cigarettes. If they had just taken one extra dollar for every pack sold and set it aside, they probably could've bought their own carts. Or if they'd just cut their smoking in half... ugh. Now *that* would be an actual initiative. 😁

That diet isn't doing your brain any favors. 😁

Look, I think that’s a solid addition to a First Communion gift if the kid doesn't have one already. 🙂
(Assuming they're religious, obviously. 😁)

I heard this a long, long time ago... instead of blowing your money on cigarettes, you could have been saving up. 😁

I think that's more of a side effect than the actual reason for the surgery. 😉

My Confirmation is this Saturday, April 21st at 11 AM.
I’m really into CAD and 3D modeling, so having that cash would be awesome for picking up a massive amount of RAM, a new sound card, and a used piano. If you think I'm being selfish, well, newsflash: I'm not. I deserve every penny I get. I'm not expecting anything from anyone $1000 but honestly, if you throw a huge feast—think lobster, sea bass, truffle cheese, premium cured meats, and a mountain of sides and desserts, all homemade and cozy rather than some overpriced restaurant—why wouldn't you buy a gift? If you don't agree, go eat at some fancy farm-to-table bistro instead.$500 At least $400 per person. Honestly, I couldn't care less about Christianity or the church in general. I'm an atheist, and I'm using my Confirmation as a chance to stack up some cash and gold. Plus, I've had enough awkward run-ins with religious people...
She’s been talking trash about me to my friends constantly, so now they call me the "atheist psycho" because everyone else is deeply religious and isn't used to having someone in their circle who doesn't believe in God. Some people actually think I'm mentally unstable or suicidal, and she even told them to stay away from me. 😲 kuja!!!😠 That is such typical Christian behavior. She even tried to mess with my Confirmation plans, so I had to work through all her nonsense just to get her to stop screwing with me. Once this is over, she will NEVER see me in a church again!! I don't want that in my life, even if God were real and I had to face hell. Christians, feel free to quote me and tear me apart; it would be totally on-brand for you to just follow the majority opinion instead of thinking for yourselves.

🤣 All you need for your First Communion is a bag of oranges and a Bible.

That’s solid advice right there. Personally, I’m eating breakfast at 6:30 AM, grabbing lunch whenever I finish work—somewhere between 1 and 4 PM because I can't be bothered to check my schedule—and then hitting the sack after midnight. If I skipped dinner, I’d be raiding the fridge every single night. 😁

His prescription was somewhere around +4, if I recall correctly. He’s still perfectly happy with the results today...

Oh, seriously? Ask your friend for the specifics and shoot me a DM. I’ve heard it’s actually cheaper to fly to Russia, get your eyes fixed, and come back than it is to deal with the costs here in America. Plus, St. Petersburg is a great city.😁

For Chicago here is what you're looking at: about $225 per eye.

Oh sure, and then after being starving and cranky, you'll pick a fight with everyone, accidentally kill the neighbor's poodle, lose your mind, and empty the entire fridge. That’s exactly what I’d do if I were eating like a tiny little bird three times a day, especially since I weigh less than 130 pounds.
Why was this fair moderator chosen? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Bryan Sanchez86 said:First off, this forum isn't some training ground. Second, this whole site is a business—part of a larger company with an owner. That owner picks the admins and moderators, who basically act as "employees"—even if they aren't getting a paycheck—to handle specific tasks. It’s actual work, not just a way to kill time when you're bored. It's a responsibility, not a hobby.

So, if you actually want to be considered for a moderator role—whenever the owners decide they need one, rather than just whenever someone feels like it—you'd need to be around for more than a month, maybe hit a few hundred posts, and actually contribute something useful to the discussions. You also need to follow the rules, show some basic manners, and demonstrate a sense of fairness, integrity, and common sense.

That's just the baseline to even get noticed. It doesn't guarantee anything, obviously, since there are plenty of other people meeting those standards. Usually, when a spot opens up, the current mods suggest candidates, and then the owner makes the final call.

Hopefully, that clears things up.

PS. There's a shortcut, though: just wire $1,000 directly to the company account or the owner. 😁

So how on earth did I become a mod then? 🤣

The secret is clearly this "basic communication etiquette," right? 🤣
mellowgull80 said:And why they are like that? Look, I'm not getting into it. I'm not an expert on this stuff...

Because some idiot wrote them. If a guy at 20—drunk, experimenting, hooking up with a buddy, then gets married and stays faithful to one woman for the next twenty years—he's barred from donating blood. Why? Because the trace of a virus caught from some hookup back in his youth can never be detected again.🙄
You can find all that info just by clicking the link Chem posted back in their sixth message on this thread.
I can't believe my eyes... in Health ·
One eye is around -2.75, the other's closer to -4.75, or whatever—I can't be bothered to check right now. Once I take my contacts out, I'm done. I just head straight to bed. 😁

I use those Bausch + Lomb soft dailies, put them in the second I wake up, and rip them out before sleep.

I've been doing it this way for six years and honestly? It works perfectly for me. 👋
Gerald James73 said:If you listen to the official line, anyone can just volunteer their blood if they're feeling generous enough.

No way. Any guy who’s ever slept with another man is basically off the table forever—assuming he isn't stupid enough or "honest" enough to actually come clean about it.

Regarding what you said about my bad eyesight, shut your mouth. 😠

Contact lenses are way better for me—wider field of vision, no blurry mess, they don't slide down my nose, and they don't leave those annoying marks on my bridge... they're great. Plus, I don't have to deal with glasses. 😁

So, my fever hasn't even hit 38 today—and I haven't touched any Tylenol or anything—and now it's evening and I'm sitting at a lovely 37.2👋 Does that mean it isn't the flu after all? Shouldn't I be running a higher fever for longer? (I can't quite remember how it works 😁)

The only thing is, I've started coughing a bit.😢

Yeah, every single drop from the shower felt like a needle hitting my skin, but damn, it was worth it.
Flu symptoms in Health ·
Is flu season over or what? I woke up this morning with brutal pains in my arms, back, and legs. Just lying here in bed wondering how on earth I managed to get this much muscle inflammation. Then suddenly, my face felt like it was on fire, and the thermometer read 38.5°. 😠

I couldn't even manage to make some lentils because I felt like I was going to pass out—my legs just wouldn't hold me up. Two Tylenol (2x300mg) brought the fever down to 38 and stopped that "falling apart" feeling, even though everything still hurt like hell. It stayed like that for a bit, then spiked to 39. It’s been sitting there for almost an hour and a half now, and honestly, it feels like the fever doesn't give a damn that I popped another 2x2 tablets of 500mg (actually, it dropped to 38.9 👋). I'm so relieved it finally got dark because I spent the whole time pulling the covers over my head or staring at the couch armrest; my eyes were hurting so badly whenever the balcony door was in my line of sight, and I didn't have the strength to even get up and pull the curtains shut. I couldn't even get on the forum! 😁
I'm sipping tea, eating like a bird, and trying to heat up the bathroom so I can take a shower. I don't know what else to do. First, I was shivering for hours like a bear in hibernation, and now I'm just in my pajamas sweating buckets..
I haven't had the flu in forever.. is this it?

The thing is, I don't actually want to—and frankly, I can't afford to—just throw money down the drain. I was originally thinking of just doing a simple home-cooked dinner at our place (there's about 10 of us), but then her dad had this grand idea that we could all chip in and host it together, where everyone just covers their own guests.
But, because she loves her child so much and because of her deep desire 🙏 to have all the grandparents, aunts, uncles, and the whole extended family there 😈—and look, I'm not exactly the biggest fan of huge family gatherings myself—I went ahead and found a restaurant that is absolutely top-notch. I've already worked out the details with them and even put down the deposit.
I told her straight up that this is the best possible gift I could give her, because honestly, what kind of woman wants to sit at a table surrounded by people she can't stand? (Only someone who loves her little one infinitely more than her own peace of mind! 😍 )

It's going to cost me quite a bit, and she’ll have to shell out some cash too, so at least I can view it as a way to make sure she feels appreciated since I'm making her wish come true. 🙂

People can judge me however they want on here, but if you ask me personally, I’d rather just scrap all these massive traditions altogether—you know, the baptisms, the communions, the confirmations, even the dedications—I'm just not really feeling the whole church ceremony thing lately. 🙂

Oh, so you're doing the confirmation just because the kid looks cute in white?😕
