You can grab Coachella tickets online.

Coachella 2014 lineup just dropped. It’s looking pretty solid, honestly. We've got Arcade Fire, Arctic Monkeys, and Iggy Pop hitting the stages. Even some heavy hitters like Kings of Leon or 30 Seconds to Mars are on the roster. Not bad for a summer. Definitely worth keeping an eye on.

Look, honestly? Given the price tag, you're better off just grabbing this package instead. You actually get... $33 Budgeting for food and drinks at the festival.🙂

The lineup for Coachella just dropped. Looks like they’re leaning hard into indie rock this year. Arcade Fire is on there, plus Arctic Monkeys and Iggy Pop. A few others too—Kings of Leon or 30 Seconds to Mars might make an appearance. It's a solid mix, I guess. If you're looking for dance music, they've got Fatboy Slim and David Guetta keeping things moving. Not bad, if you're into that sort of thing.
Richard Barrett53 said:Not sure. This lineup looks pretty thin for a three-day run. Probably more acts coming, but I'm wondering if they'll actually drop another big headliner or just fill the gaps with random nobodies and endless DJ sets.

I doubt we're getting anything major...

Aside from those first six or seven names, it’s all just unknowns and some local indie stuff. For an event that constantly markets itself as one of the "best festivals" around, this is honestly kind of a letdown...

Plus, there's zero world music representation, which used to be a huge part of the vibe in previous years...
Jose Booth2 said:What’s their track record with announcements? Is this the whole lineup or are we gonna see more names pop up?

honestly, I think that's it. 😢

New Order peaked way before those guys even hit the scene.
Still, if I can't get my hands on Killers or Placebo, New Order isn't a bad consolation prize—especially if they dig into some Joy Division stuff. 😛

Peter Hook is actually playing some Joy Division tracks with his band this fall at Lollapalooza.

Alright, here’s some more specifics 😁

Just 3D again, great.😢
I'm still processing that set. Honestly? A bit of a mess, but I can't stop thinking about it. It was definitely one of those nights where everything felt slightly off, yet strangely right at the same time. Just a weird, beautiful disaster. kaže:
Dan Deacon’s gonna have to work way harder than last time. 😁

Just my two cents on The Postal Service... absolute legends. 🙏🙏
Pure bliss. Just pure joy being on stage.
This band looks like some high school choir group. Like, Glee, anyone? 🙂Some obscure act nobody’s ever heard of was playing this wild mix of everything—disco, Afro beats, even some symphonic prog rock riffs. They managed to hype up a crowd of like 500 people. When they started, there were maybe 20 curious onlookers hanging around the stage, but as more people drifted in, everyone just got caught up in the vibe. It all wrapped up with this massive choreographed moment involving way more people than we originally saw. 🙏

Usually, those slots are so tight that if they just played naked without a "planned" encore, the set would be laughably short, and the crowd might actually get pissed.

It's baked into their contracts, so it’s not some random band decision (especially not one made on the fly). 🤷

Exactly...

At Lollapalooza in Slovakia, EVERYONE gets 60 minutes, from the local openers all the way up to the headliners, so a 90-minute festival set is actually pretty standard...

Last year in Boston, when they were the main headliner, Arcade Fire played for 90 minutes including an encore (Wake Up)... so the fact that they didn't leave yesterday and then come back back doesn't actually mess with their usual set length at all...

The real issue with yesterday's set was the unbalanced mix. The high notes were getting lost and the instruments weren't hitting evenly, which totally killed the vibe for the quieter tracks like Intervention and The Suburbs... The volume (or lack thereof, really) was consistent during that Boston show, which I mention because that was my first time seeing them and honestly the only other time until yesterday. That setup probably works fine for acoustic venues, but it just falls apart in an open field...
schedule 👎

..day one is Arcade Fire, day two is everything else

... honestly, with those 7 heavy hitters, they could’ve just booked one stage for the whole thing... saved some cash and spared us all the angry emails from haters...

... this year I was planning on just seeing 4 specific bands (then whatever else happened to be playing), but I had a gut feeling even that wouldn't work out... turns out my hunch was right 😢
northerntrucker2 said:So, basically zero new international acts announced?
Man, is it just me or have way more foreign artists been leaking to the press after the five-month mark lately?
Feels like the number of international headliners for this year's Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival has been cut in half.

A bunch of big names leaked early, yeah... looks like they blew the whole budget upfront and now there's nothing left for any other heavy hitters...

Based on the ratio of international to local talent, Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is starting to feel like a small-town county fair...
Susan Jones91 said:So, is Day Zero officially dead, or is it still up in the air?

I'm on an information diet right now, so fill me in. 🍿

dead for sure
Roger Newman50 said:So either they ran out of cash for new acts, or there aren't any new acts worth announcing. Take your pick.

Look, I get it. The budget for new bands is dead.

Given that, they better have some massive headliner ready for day one if they actually want people to show up to Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.
If they find out a month out that the show can still happen, who's on the lineup?

Does that mean they're done announcing new bands for the rest of the dates?
Facebook's buzzing about zero day again... might actually happen, who knows.
Larry Morales12 said:Who knows how the organizers are gonna stack this thing, but Cypress sounds way bigger than Grinderman to me. I'd bet they hit the stage around 11 PM. As for the forest set, looking at the current lineup, Mastodon seems like the biggest draw there.

Based on what we've got so far, Mastodon doesn't belong in the forest at all.😂

On the T-Mobile Main stage you've got TV on the Radio, Grinderman, and Mastodon.😁
play Federal convictions 🙂
Morgan Palmer2 said:Damned megalomaniacs. Instead of just saying, "Hey, Skunk is booked for the festival, let's just spend the cash on an actually killer band that can play that date," they act like this.

Probably just broke. They're likely running these smaller, sold-out shows just to scrape together some extra cash for the festival.
Michelle Diaz14 said:Honestly, that’s a steal for Arcade Fire, Grinderman, TV on the Wall, and Jellota. Can't complain.😁

Mastodon 😁

TV on the Radio
Mastodon
KEXP Jello Biafra and The Ramones

weird lineup... honestly couldn't tell you which band's closing the main stage on any given day... before seeing this, I was dead set on Arcade Fire headlining day one and Jamiroquai taking day two...
Pulp at Lollapalooza! 😲

Come on, Coachella, where are the updates?😁
