Kudos to the actions taken; I hope they bear fruit. But let’s be real: this goes way deeper than police-fan relations or some minor scuffles and flares in the stands. Even if they manage to soften these draconian sports fan laws, nothing changes for the better until the political-sporting heavyweights, thieves, and circus acts at the top of the US Soccer Federation and various clubs step down. They are the ones who ruined the league, tanked viewership, and alienated the fans by prioritizing their own bank accounts over everything else—including the big clubs like the Dallas Cowboys or the New York Yankees. In those teams, just like everywhere else, players are basically praying a scout notices them so they can get sold overseas.
The commentator during the game between San Antonio and Miami claimed attendance was great and blamed anyone opposing the project. I love soccer, and I am against these sports fan laws, but any idiot can see that San Antonio and Miami only saw crowds because they climbed the standings. What happens when their results drop and they sink back down? Do you think people will show up then? Bullshit.
If this law actually passes, it means the end of "supporter groups" in America. We have to fight this to the bitter end, and credit to those who are. But even if they ease the law to allow for some normal movement, it won't fix the core issue. The people I'm talking about will still gut American soccer, stadium attendance will remain pathetic, and what's the point? What good is "freedom of movement" if we only have 100 people showing up to an away game in Chicago? People are tired of rigged games, lack of heart, and a boring league driven by the private agendas of these power brokers.
In my opinion, we need to fight these thieves even harder. It should be done through songs, messages, and the internet. In the US, everyone except maybe the 50+ crowd spends all day online; even that group finds out about major news via the web or the next day's papers. Look how much noise the Facebook scandal made recently. Most importantly, all American fans need to unite. We need joint protests and organized actions. Instead of isolated groups making statements that look divided, it would be much more effective if every group acted in unison. That one message from the local ultras was a total miss; it just had the opposite effect.
Another thing: infighting among fans achieves nothing. It only gives them an excuse to enforce these draconian sports fan laws in full. If people have already proven they can stand together in massive movements, then we need to get our act together. I don't mean the rival supporters of the Lakers and Celtics sitting together grabbing beers on a pier, but damn it, if we spend our energy bickering in small groups of 20 or 50, we just hand the media more ammunition to hunt us down.
US Soccer, you assholes, you fucked soccer and the fans right along with it.
stormyseal9 said:Finally, I can satisfy someone for once. What does "s.a.c." mean? And what’s your take on the changes to the fan laws? At this rate, I might just start wearing nothing to the game; if things keep going like this, I'll be labeled a public menace too.🤣
stormyseal9 for Prime Minister, Mayor, President, whatever... you’re the king of nothing.
Look, regarding those banners—if you're fixated on them, I wasn't suggesting they were some monumental symbols. Any idiot knows they aren't. I included those photos mainly for the aesthetic (I can't help it, I'm a perfectionist) just to make the post look more vivid. Isn't that the point? To make it look less empty? Regarding those banners and the claim that they don't matter: no banner, whether it’s a cloth, a sheet, or whatever is carried to a game with a group's name on it, is unimportant. Someone has to carry that cloth. That person isn't someone's grandpa; they're a fan. How aware they are of that is their own business, and that's where the discussion ends. Specifically, in these examples, if those banners from various groups around the Gulf Coast hadn't been seized, they would be hanging on the East Stand fences, or likely at other stadiums too. You don't need to be a genius to guess what the narrative would be. For instance: "Look how many banners from Cleveland and the Gulf Coast there are, yet the Navy is totally absent, doing nothing, etc." So, regarding what bothers you and why you consider it a disgrace that those "unimportant" banners were seized—all I can say is: your disgrace is our pride.
And it is common knowledge that whenever a banner gets taken, it always happens during perfectly fair, correct, and frankly friendly gatherings...
As far as I know, one Navy banner that was displayed in the East Stand was seized during a cup match in the Midwest. It's interesting that it happened at the exact moment when no one was near the car, through certain methods of theft... guess how...☕ I will only say this: it was a thrill watching the famous Rab vanish in flames...😁
p.s. The crew took a few reckless, impulsive risks and even ventured a few steps beyond the Gulf Coast👍:
- the smaller one says Rab; it's the younger brother of that big Rab banner that burned a few years later...
Anyway, to wrap up, as I already stated, this isn't about proving anything or being provocative. It's stupid to talk like this online. Why is everyone so obsessed? Have a little love, man...
stormyseal9, brother, do you realize how much nonsense you've spouted in just a few posts? I get that you're young, but still... you're starting to sound like Robert. Wait a second, are you actually Robert??😍
I appreciate your writing style; you're quite perceptive. In my 25 years of following the teams around the country (following them everywhere), I've seen all kinds of fan groups, but none match yours. You guys are the best. It’s likely that perfect blend of a diverse city and its people. Go ahead and ban me if you have to; I'll be heartbroken, my heart won't take it. When was this group founded, back in '87? Who among our old friends was there on the stands with you at the start? Where's the PlayStation? Are you still playing it? Why so much anger?
If you've been traveling for 25 years, let's say you started at age 7.5 like any real fan, then you're 32.5 now. It's pathetic for a man your age to be posting on forums filled with kids. No job, no family, no kids—nothing. None of you real fans have anything. Truly brings a tear to my eye...
William White8 said:Don't talk nonsense. It’s obvious you didn't show up. When we traveled all the way from out of state to see you, did you even expect us? There was a huge commotion, yet you still headed toward those guys throwing stones instead of coming down. It’s pathetic that fifty people managed to make a scene right in the middle of your downtown.
Honestly, I’m just baffled. Two groups of guys from the coast who can't even coordinate a decent toss into a playground? If there were that many of you, you should have organized a tournament or something. It's pathetic how little thought goes into this. All that talk about doing things "behind someone's back"—what kind of "surprise factor" is that supposed to be? It just makes you look disorganized. You should have had the guts to face them man-to-man. I'd call the guys in the local fan clubs tough, but honestly, the way you all act... it's just weak. 😉)😁 Truly pathetic. Fifty people barely putting on a show? It’s underwhelming. Use some common sense next time and they might actually pull off something better.
P.S. Looking at your location, I see you’re just some local branch of the fan club. A minor little player, really. Always acting like a subset. You could probably ask if that group was even ever officially part of the main organization back in Cleveland, but we all know they were. It’s all just about branches anyway. 👍 Is that how it works? I drifted away from what I actually intended to say. You just don't get it, man. Your local fan clubs have been struggling in Cleveland for years, so you're better off wandering around town occasionally instead of constantly being met with a knife at every turn.👍😍
William White8 said:Look, kid, I don't know if you're just thick or if you simply don't get it... YOU KEEP SAYING THE SAME THING!! Get serious for once...NOW THAT YOU'VE FINISHED YOUR LITTLE SPEECH, ANSWER TWO QUESTIONS. 1.THE BOARDWALK INCIDENT??? 2.XBOX???
Man, I see what you're getting at, but this bolded part implies there are only two possibilities:
a)- You guys were supposed to play some Xbox on the boardwalk, but our guys didn't show up—or worse, they showed up without any consoles?👎 b)- What kind of game do you even need, or what the hell are you talking about?🤷 ☕
William White8 said:It's hilarious reading these last two pages... try looking at the present instead of obsessing over what happened 10-15 years ago. Since you brought up pitch invasions, why didn't you mention the boardwalk incidents? You guys act tough and then run like rats. I won't list everything here, but you know exactly what I mean. Xbox.🙂🙂🙂🙂
You tell me to focus on the present, yet you missed the link to the recent game report from just a few days ago. You demand we look at the present while you constantly harp on the past—your whole group does this every other comment. Whether it's that old championship game back in the late 80s or those endless forum threads about fan groups from the 80s, everyone circles back to history. But when it comes to your own messy history, suddenly it’s an issue, isn't it? You're being hypocritical. And these aren't even events from 15 years ago; they are much more recent. Here is the timeline:
These game photos don't capture the whole scene. Usually, after the Navy storms the pitch, a goal happens and the East stands starts shouting provocations again. Nothing from the rival fans, though. After this match, the papers ran a photo of our guys with scarves over their faces, captioned "Masquerade." Some will remember who was behind it..😉👍
Example number three. Third season. Can't recall the exact year, but it falls between those first two examples, somewhere between '98 and '03.
That guy running on the right looks like one of the last two rival supporters on the field. He was detained shortly after that run, fortunately for him. Not exactly a friendly scene, seeing his buddy lying on the ground..😁
After the chaos on the pitch, crowds surged toward the fence separating the North and East stands. They were calling for the rivals to step up, since that's all they want—to fight and burn down half the city and the Navy. Most of the hundreds of people there didn't take the bait. Maybe there was a drug shortage in the stands that day, or maybe they just needed more encouragement, because the conflict stopped there. This was enough.
Are you satisfied or should I keep going? There was more, but as you said, we shouldn't dwell on the past too much. Cheers.👍😍
Edward Hernandez332 said:A question for the armada (not a provocation): do you see what’s happening at the club? Do you notice who is running this organization and how they lead the team? Why is there zero will to take action against the people destroying us? Do you actually care, or are you only interested in game day topics? Just asking for information. ☕
Who is to blame? Who is to blame? Only God knows—maybe me, maybe you, or maybe the front office...🙂🙂
What a joke these last few posts have been. Everyone is acting so cheerful. Honestly, I'd rather read this forum over coffee than pick up a newspaper. 🤣 But one of the strongest takes was from south kman; after seeing those photos of the Navy facing off in the East, he wrote—it's true, you guys made it right to our section... 😂 What else is there to say besides, thank God we aren't losers... let's keep moving, buy some khakis:
Ethan Edwards39 said:You’re pulling my leg now, seriously. Given the absolute state of your group right now, you’re digging up decade-old stories trying to prove a point. Should I talk about how police gunfire saved you at the stadium while everyone else was lying motionless on the ground? Or the riots involving your fan club where people had to be carried out on stretchers? Or when you fled the streets because some local branch showed up? Or even that time two years ago when your crew jumped in the bus and ran for their lives from another branch? You’re wasting energy here. Use it to actually build the group instead of this childish bickering.
Are you angry or what?😍 Like Terry Lee said, I don't see the issue. No one is trying to prove anything; everything is already known. It started with one photo, then a few more, just to remind people of the old days—things they probably won't ever get the chance to witness or participate in again in this country.😁 Nobody invited you all here to comment. A few posts were made and then retracted. I have to note that your arrogance is even worse than Mamin's.😁 On various forums, after any weak showing by the Navy, people immediately start calling them a disgrace, and then the local branches jump in with all their nonsense. Regarding the examples in your post, tell me: can you name on one hand even a single group that arrived unorganized at the stadium? There was a scuffle, our guys were detained, and maybe 60 or 70 of yours were taken in—but nothing else. Honestly, it's good you mentioned the local branches, because without them, the local chapter wouldn't have half the reputation it has now. They might want to rename themselves "The Local Branches" since those guys are the ones keeping them alive. And regarding your boys—I don't know exactly what they were using in Vegas over the last year or two, but they certainly showed some "impressive" athletic abilities. As for the part about people being carried on stretchers, you're dreaming; you've got that wrong. Though, regarding your member—after those incidents at the fan club, I think that kid had to eat through a straw for a while. Tell me, has he finally managed to fix his teeth yet?
BTW, at the last game in Orlando, maybe 30 pathetic Navy members showed up at the stadium while the rest got stuck on the way. How is the local chapter holding up? Has the shock worn off? Are the teeth still in place?
Adam Morris isn't the toughest group in America or even in Europe, but they have something to be proud of and a name worth pushing forward.
Ethan Moore56 said:Look, one photo shows at least 300 Navy members on the ground. 1. What did they actually do? 2. Fight a single local cop? 3. Can't you see the Atlanta Braves fans on the fence? 4. Don't see the barbed wire? 5. Where are the fans? 6. Maybe they already fled during the May Day parade?
1. They reached the East Side. 2. There were more of them; they tried to reach some divine force out East, hoping some of that immortal magic from the fans would rub off on them through contact. 3. No. 4. No. 5. On the East Side. 6. Some of them could easily escape.
hollowbear27 said:Fine, I won't if you're begging.🤣....I was there, and it all boils down to the fact that you guys retreated in your own city, while 2 or 3 guys who didn't make it out in time got run over... those were wild years when every group had its ups and downs. Having the caves is our advantage, while you charging into our territory is yours, and that's it... we can move on.
Fine, that's your advantage. But the fact remains: you can't compare having caves to being provoked by opposing fans right in front of the fence with direct calls for a fight—and not just at one game, but several.
hollowbear27 said:The conflicting stories baffle me.☕ Everything was crystal clear. About 20 of your guys miscalculated. I still remember them jumping off the train before it even came to a full stop.If you want, I can post the whole story later. It'll be the most objective account you'll get from a bystander.Back in the old days, there was no crackdown. You could actually talk to a man.
😂 Don't hold back. 😂 Just write it out if you were there. Whatever happened, happened. Does this mean they should disband the group now?
"Soon the Cleveland fans approach the goal right near the angry ultras. About ten of them storm the pitch and clash with the Navy supporters. Other ultras are kicking and punching at the fence, trying to tear it down (it's easier for the Navy to enter the field since their section doesn't have barbed wire like the East stands). Eventually, about 30 SWAT officers force the Navy back toward the stands. Fifteen minutes after the whistle, everyone has basically cleared out except for the ultras waiting to be let out. One guy jumps the fence, runs to the West side where the Navy snatches two banners from the fence, then he sprints back to the East and tosses the banners to the ultras..."
tifo no. 27
That was a long time ago, so I decided to dig up some footage from that game. Here is a photo of those 30 SWAT guys and the Navy; it speaks for itself. They walked over to the East side, had a little scuffle with some security and cops, realized the hardcore ultras weren't going to bite on the provocation, and then the SWAT team arrived. You can see in the photo there was no "fleeing"—just a casual stroll back. As for the rest of what’s written in that overly dramatic fan report, I already told you, I don't think it happened like that.
stormyseal9 said:At that stadium, it's actually easy to move from the West to the North, so they probably did exactly that. I know these guys from scouting; they travel to away games.
Example of how easy it is to cross from the West to anywhere else. Bullsh*t.😁 😉
If being an ultra were easy, everyone would be one.😁
The cave incident definitely wasn't 98% certain when it happened, just like you said—bad memory🤷. I've heard 16 different versions regarding that event, so I'm not even going to bother discussing it. 🤷
