Are we taking life way too seriously? in Psychology ·
amberseal13 said:Once you start antidepressants, after about a month, colors get brighter, food starts having flavor, and people will finally love you just as much as you love them...
You'll look up at the sky in awe and say, "I've never seen blue like this before."
It's special.
The night will have its own magic.
Everything will feel like paradise.🙂

That sounds pretty terrifying, honestly. It reads like you’re pitching a first hit of heroin. But take my word for it: eventually, you’ll get used to it, and then everything will settle back into its old, dull rhythm. You’ll end up relying on them just to have the strength to roll out of bed. That’s the cold, hard truth.☕
Can't sleep because of the noise? in Psychology ·
Brenda Allen2 said:Hey everyone, so I’ve gone and moved into yet another place—this time it’s a tiny 130-square-foot studio on the fifth floor, and let me tell you, it is cramped as hell.
It was cheap, which is great and all, but man...
Every single time someone flushes a toilet, I hear it.
If someone walks, if they shift their weight, if they even breathe too loud, I hear it. All that tiny little background noise just drives me absolutely insane.
And then, to top it all off, at night, water starts dripping right inside the walls. Just straight into the walls! I try to sleep with earplugs and a pillow clamped over my head, but it doesn't do squat. I'm lucky if I get a couple of hours of shut-eye a day.
I have to be up by 6:00 AM every morning regardless of whether I actually slept or not, so I'm basically a walking zombie all day long.
When I try to take a nap in the afternoon, there's no way to settle down. Every little sound and every slight movement from the neighbors just sets me off. I've been taking some Paxil before bed, but honestly, it feels like I'm swallowing nothing at all. What am I supposed to do here? Should I go see a psychiatrist or something?

Honestly, it’s the same story everywhere. In my place, I can hear every single toilet flush too. People walk around for hours in the middle of the night; sometimes it drives me crazy, other times I'm just exhausted enough to pass out. If a little sleeping pill helps you get through—and it won't kill you—then don't feel like you need to rush to a psychiatrist. As for >, he was definitely a madman. Hahaha. A total nutcase. But being a genius is a different story; there's a very thin line between a genius and a lunatic, you know?🤣 🤣
DivX subtitles in Software ·
Samuel Morales said:I know this sounds pretty basic, and I really don't feel like digging through the settings of this DivX player—which I’ve never actually used before—but could someone please walk me through how to load these .srt subtitle files? Every time I start the movie and try to right-click, the subtitle tracks option is completely grayed out. 🤷

Personally, I just convert the DivX files into a DVD format and burn the subtitles right in. To my eye, the picture quality ends up being much sharper that way.☕
Guys, I need help with my media player!!!!! in Software ·
Aaron Turner3 said:I'm using Azureus and just finished downloading a movie... I tried playing it in BS Player because that's my go-to when the audio acts up... then I tried opening it with Windows Media Player and everything works fine... the only issue is I have no clue how to load subtitles in Windows Media Player!!!
HELP!!!🙏

Azureus just crashed on me and I've no idea why. You might as well just switch over to BitTorrent or something else.
Dabroston in Health ·
Drink one in the morning and one at night... I’m not sure how old you are, but if I were you, I’d try to steer clear of those hormones altogether. If you happen to notice any kind of skin rash or itching, stop drinking it immediately. Don't panic just yet—I’m just giving you a heads-up because that’s exactly what happened to me when I was using Dabroston or Provera.
Saw IV in Movies ·
Edward Hernandez332 said:I took a look, but I didn't really see😁 much because this camera version is just way too dark. From what I could gather, the movie is pretty hard to follow—it seems to lean entirely on massive blood splatters, constant screaming, and nauseating torture sequences. The traps are still brutal, sure 😈, but that voice on the tape recorder is starting to grate on my nerves—it’s always the same repetitive nonsense. There isn't anything fresh about this flick—it's just pure recycling.

Yeah, for part 4, you can't see a thing and it's honestly not worth it. I've seen all the entries because I liked them—well, at least the first two were good, the third was okay, but the fourth is a total disaster. It's just darkness; you can't see anything even though I watched it on DVD. I could have turned it off, but I pushed through to the end just waiting for it to be over. I won't bother with these anymore; there's no point. Just a quick side note: I don't get why people who don't even like horror bother commenting on them. It makes no sense. It would be like me commenting on an action flick; I don't watch action, and I wouldn't like any of those movies either. If you aren't a horror fan, like the person who started this thread, then you really shouldn't be weighing in. Bye.
Am I the weird one? in Psychology ·
Matthew Booth16 said:I’ve got a bit of a situation here.

I’m heading into my sophomore year of high school. My grades are pretty much straight A's because I spend most of my time hitting the books. In class, I don't really talk—I just sit there and soak everything up, which probably makes me look a little weird to everyone else. People tell me I’m super smart, but I’m definitely not the social type. I don't say much, and when I do, I keep it short and sweet. Sometimes I feel like people just tune me out when I'm around. Honestly, I don't have any real friends yet—you know, people I actually hang out with who aren't family. I don't really go out because I don't have a crew to go with, and I'm not into drinking 🙂 either. I don't even listen to music. I'm constantly trying to level up and be the best version of myself—basically aiming for perfection—but lately, I feel like I'm just becoming this monotone, boring person. Outside of school, I almost never hang out with people my age. It makes me feel like I'm unapproachable... and honestly, just lonely. I really want to talk more... but what am I supposed to talk about? How do you even start a conversation? How do I find a real friend or actually connect with someone?
Everyone calls me a weirdo. To be honest, it doesn't bother me that they call me that, it bothers me because it feels true. Everyone wonders why I'm so quiet... but what is there to say? I stay silent because I feel like I have nothing to contribute. How do you learn to be funny? Is being witty something you're born with, or can you actually practice it? And how do you become someone people actually want to be around?
What should I do? Where do I even start? I just want to change everything right now...

Help me out!

Everyone is a weirdo in their own way. You're being a little self-centered here, and you aren't alone. Eventually, you'll find someone similar to yourself. Honestly, I don't think there's any chance you can truly change—and if you did, you wouldn't be "you" anymore. Just stay who you are. Someone will accept you exactly as you are.👍
Persistent symptoms... help! 🆘 in Health ·
electricpanther82 said:So, my endoscopy came back fine, H. pylori is negative, and all my abdominal ultrasounds and thyroid scans look totally normal. Blood work? Perfect. Urine? Perfect. My blood pressure is steady, chest X-ray is clear, vision is great, and I tested negative for mono. Even my throat and nasal swabs are clean, and the ENT says everything is fine—well, except they did find out I’m allergic to dust and spring pollen. Gyno stuff is all good too. Am I just losing my mind at this point? I’m honestly running out of ideas and just starting to lose my grip.

In my experience, allergies can definitely trigger a fever. It’s also possible you’re just caught in a cycle of extreme stress. Honestly, there aren't enough supportive people on this forum to give you that kind of reassurance. If your medical tests are coming back clean, try to let these symptoms go and move forward. Good luck... and maybe don't look for comfort here next time. I've posted questions myself only to be met with total silence.👎

Does anyone have any leads? I’m looking for a reliable dentist who can actually fix some teeth—and I mean properly done. I might need crowns or something similar, I'm not entirely sure. If you know any good spots, please drop some addresses or names. I really need to get this sorted once and for all because my dental situation is becoming a serious problem.🙏
Her, my mother-in-law, or me? in Psychology ·
If a mother truly loves her son, she should embrace his wife as her own daughter rather than treating her like a rival—which, let’s face it, is how most of these family dramas play out. My honest advice? Get out of that environment. A marriage under that kind of pressure isn't going to survive.
Her, my mother-in-law, or me? in Psychology ·
I honestly don't even know how to put this. I’m starting to wonder if there’s something deeper than just typical maternal love happening between certain mothers and their sons, or maybe I’ve finally just lost my mind because I'm completely fed up with everything. It feels to me like these pairs should focus entirely on one another instead of dragging innocent bystanders into their drama. From what I can see, they only marry "for show"—as if they're just checking a box—because their mother will always be the first and only woman in their lives. It makes my skin crawl 🤮... At this rate, I’ll either lose my sanity or end up dead, while they just carry on, perfectly happy and satisfied with themselves.
Retroverted uterus: What to expect? in Women's Health ·
Anonymous said:My doctor told me I have a retroverted uterus, but she didn't really explain what that entails. What does that actually mean, and what kind of issues could it cause? Most importantly, will I be able to have children?

Don't sweat it; it's nothing to worry about.🙂
What's going on with me? in Psychology ·
Nicole Allen10 said:Look, we’re talking about purely physical stuff here. Lately, my head feels like it’s overheating, and honestly, my whole body is just radiating heat. It’s not even like this started because of the weather or anything. To make matters worse, I feel like my eye is actually stuck shut—just a total sensation of burning. And get this: I don't even have a fever. I've tried hopping in the shower, but it doesn't do squat; I'll get about fifteen minutes of relief before the sweat starts pouring again, even though I'm dressed in basically nothing. I have no clue what's going on. I just want to fix this because I feel absolutely miserable.

You should probably get your thyroid checked.
Swollen face - what could it be? in Health ·

Under the jawline, right?

Take a look at this, but don't let it freak you out—it’s really nothing to worry about.

Swollen face - what could it be? in Health ·
Jonathan Sanchez3 said:Hey everyone,

As the title suggests, my face looks swollen, but only on the right side. My left side looks perfectly normal, but the right side—specifically around the masseter muscle area—is noticeably enlarged. This has been popping up ever since I dealt with wisdom tooth issues, but over the last year or two, it’s become a constant thing. It's most obvious when looking at photos.

Does anyone know why this happens or if there's a way to fix it?

Does the swelling get worse after you eat? Like, does it subside once you're done? I'm asking because it could potentially be an issue with your salivary glands...😕
Dealing with low self-esteem in Psychology ·
quietranger14 said:Hey everyone!
It’s been a minute—I’ve basically been off the grid just trying to find some peace and quiet away from everyone else... and honestly, it did me a world of good. I finally sat down and caught up on all the posts by 😍 Kyle Watson8. Feeling a lot more centered and positive now.

So, I finally made a decision: tomorrow, I’m heading to an appointment with a specialist from a local eating disorder foundation. Everything still feels like a bit of a mess, but you have to start somewhere—and talking to someone actually smarter than me seems like a solid first step. It’s officially time to go to war against my own self-sabotage—the low self-esteem, the binge eating, the OCD, and God knows what else.

Wish me luck!🙂

We are rooting for you with everything we've got.😘
Dealing with low self-esteem in Psychology ·
quietranger14 said:I’m struggling with low self-esteem—a leftover relic from when my father sexually abused me. I’ve worked through most of the trauma from that era, but this lack of self-worth keeps holding me back in so many ways.
First off, I can't stop comparing myself to everyone else. I’m in college right now and my grades are solid—just like they were in high school and middle school—but I never actually feel proud of those achievements.
Then there’s my body. Even though I have moments where I look in the mirror and think, "Okay, I actually look good," that feeling evaporates within five minutes. Suddenly, I’m just ugly, overweight, and—God knows what else. I’m constantly jumping from one diet to the next, even though I know deep down that no diet on the planet is going to fix how I feel inside.
Third, I struggle to value anything I’ve accomplished. For instance, I survived sexual abuse, lived through a diagnosis of anxious depression, was hospitalized after a suicide attempt, and even saw my abuser behind bars for eight years—yet I still don't give myself credit for surviving all that. Nothing I do feels significant because I tell myself anyone could do it, even though I know in my heart that isn't true.
I don't know... I just really want to learn how to value myself as a person—as someone smart and beautiful (which I do believe during my best moments) and capable. I’d love some help navigating this.
Thanks

I am so incredibly sorry you're going through this. Reading something like this is gut-wrenching; it makes me wonder how anyone stays sane when faced with such evil people. Why are some people so damn cruel? But honestly, I am so glad that you managed to rise above it all despite your self-esteem being shaken—though who wouldn't be? Believe me, you are a beautiful girl. As for the self-esteem part, mine is also quite low; I wasn't sexually abused, but I dealt with psychological abuse, which feels almost the same. Just keep your head up. Fight back and don't let those negative thoughts take over. If you find yourself surrounded by toxic people, change your environment. Smile, find joy... it’s going to be okay.👍 Good luck

Rachel Hayes90 said:Did three different urinalysis tests... here’s what the lab report says:

Can someone please make sense of all this junk showing up in my pee?

It sounds like you might have a minor infection brewing. Honestly, nothing looks catastrophic to me... seeing a few bacteria or red blood cells happens more often than you'd think. Hmm.
