Let's talk ideology and anarchy... in Philosophy ·
Hey Alima.

But seriously... why is it always like this? You're out here dropping political subtext like you’re some high-ranking official from the Chicago Cubs... did Žika lose his nerve or what?

Just write...

Later.

Thanks for the input, gentletiger46, but I'm thinking there's more to this ascites than that.
Dealing with a chameleon tumor? in Health ·
I need a medical professional here. Can someone explain this massive kidney tumor that’s growing at lightning speed? They call it a "chameleon" because apparently, it’s nearly impossible to spot. A loved one is dying... they're too weak for surgery and relying on Tramadol just to manage the pain. Their skin has turned yellow, too. I'm thinking the tumor has grown so large it's already crushing the other organs.
Could IV fluids lead to ascites?
Thanks.

The biggest, most incompetent hypocrites are all sitting right there in Congress. Their debt—even just the interest—is growing at light speed because they’re so damn "efficient" at doing absolutely nothing. Just constantly bowing down to Brussels.👎

Edward Flores4 said:I mean, it's pretty obvious, isn't it? The world is basically run by empty-headed, overly ambitious morons who would happily sell their own mothers for a single barrel of oil or a shipping container full of weapons.🙄

"Our world" (the world of people who aren't idiots) is built on imagination and desire—it really has nothing to do with the "real" world (the one run by idiots).

But as long as those "non-idiots" are forced to live inside the world created by the "idiots"—we're absolutely tethered to them!

The real question is: can you actually sit on two different chairs at once? Can you possess power and wealth while still holding onto your imagination and your desires?

That's not quite the right way to look at it.

All we really need to do is for the "non-idiots" to simply stop cooperating with the "idiots." See, the problem is that those guys can barely calculate the square root of their own IQ, let alone maintain any kind of power without leaning on the help of the "non-idiots."

The idiots aren't actually the ones at fault... the fault lies with us for letting them get into this position in the first place.😉

With all due respect, I'm curious who this "we" actually refers to... and what kind of leverage we actually have to block their stupidity if... ?

Best,

True enough.
But have you ever heard of internet addiction?

Look, man... I was just trying to crack a joke during one of those sleepless nights.

CDs, satellites, smartphones—it’s all there. I heard that cell tower signals are actually wrecking the bee population, making them lose their way until they just die off en masse...
You ever hear anything like that?
Did you ever finish that "winning octopus" thing of yours? 😁

And why does everyone obsess over these useless gadgets and tech that ultimately just alienates us from being human in the first place?
Take care.

Honestly, Servantes, I’d love to experience that kind of mental strain in such a desolate setting—just daydreaming about lazily grilling fish off the deck of my boat until a golden Christian Dior wakes me up.😁
😂😂

Man, sorry, but you have me laughing so hard instead of waking up, it’s starting to feel pointless...🙏
Why do wise people always sound so profound? in Philosophy ·
Seriously, though... what kind of question is that? Is someone joking?

It's like asking why people laugh when something is actually funny.

Or maybe I just missed the point.🤔
If you want to lose a so-called "friend," just lend them some cash.😂
That’s basically your situation—sticking by someone through thick and thin without expecting a dime in return.
...Or maybe it's just when shared interests are the only thing holding people together?
Bottom line: one loyal friend beats a hundred fake ones any day of the week.
Cheers.

Personally, I don't care about winning; sometimes I just want a clean, simple game. Not that I could ever beat our unbeatable Batić🤣 anyway. Send him my best.👍

Any particular Song would be welcome on this thread?

Mark Torres14, my friend... everything passes. Your flu will pass too, if that offers you any comfort at all.👍

Btw—where did that Medina chat cave disappear to?

-Can anyone reopen my locked thread? It was my one and only on philosophy.🤣

Smooth, elegant, and subtle... but why on earth would you choose such a weird handle?
Is there any way to actually define infinity without just rambling on forever?
Jesus' diagnosis in Psychology ·
Come on, don't just throw out diagnoses like you're guessing at a coin toss. I mean, if someone thinks they're climbing a fig tree, should we just call them "fig tree sickness"?😁

The person is clearly losing it regardless. We need to figure out if this is just how they're seeing and feeling things...

Maybe it’d be acceptable to go after those big shots, regardless of their congressional immunity... just think about the media frenzy. The headlines would be insane. It would force most Americans to finally see how hypocritical they are with their laws. I bet even some of those political "players" would jump on the fans' side then... because if the public actually backs something, it might actually happen for once.
How many more blinded people are out there who just swallow whatever they read in the news? Let them see, just once, how some people are treated equally while others get a free pass.

Chloe Garcia10 said:Hey there.

My mom was recently diagnosed with depression and started on Prozac. She’s about two weeks into it now, and honestly, the side effects are hitting her pretty hard. We're talking weakness, nausea, shaky legs, loss of appetite... I get that some of this overlaps with her actual depression symptoms, but the Prozac seems to be cranking them up a notch. Her doctor told us to hang in there for three weeks until the meds actually kick in, saying the side effects should taper off after 7 to 10 days, but for her, they just aren't letting up.
Has anyone else dealt with Prozac? Did you run into similar side effects, and if so, how long did you have to suffer through them before things leveled out?
Any advice would be appreciated.

Prozac doesn't work the same way for everyone—it’s a hit or miss. You’re supposed to take it every single day without fail, and you usually won't feel much of anything for about 20 days. (It was huge in America for a while). If things don't improve after a bit, you really need to tell the therapist. They might have to switch up the treatment until they find the right balance for you.

Is Tramal or Lumidol-nisam actually considered a narcotic, or is it just hovering on the edge? I got my first dose in the hospital, prescribed by a surgeon to deal with some brutal pain... It comes in blisters or as drops—a bottle with 400 drops. The thing is, the tolerance builds up insanely fast and it absolutely wrecks your stomach. For example, during the first few days, 15-20 drops would kill the pain and make me feel a bit lightheaded... then after about ten days, I needed three times that amount just to feel the same effect. I ended up getting hooked. There were times I’d polish off an entire bottle in a day, and yeah, I spent plenty of time throwing up.🤣
Then I find out this so-called "medicine" is mostly handed out to people dealing with cancer pain or those nearing the end.☕

Honestly, this whole thing about flares is just a massive display of double standards. One minute they’re cracking down on fans for lighting them, then you see the "VIP" suites for the big shots throwing them around—it’s hypocritical on a massive scale. And don't even get me started on Mr. Mystery over there.

The way I see it, we need to either define the rules clearly and set boundaries, or actually enforce the law strictly without any special treatment. If the law is supposedly being enforced, then everyone should face the consequences—fans, players, coaches, whoever. No exceptions.
But obviously, some people are more equal than others when it comes to the law. Especially since pyrotechnics have been banned all over Europe for ages anyway. Personally, I don't mind them, unless they're being thrown onto the field to cause delays. If the goal is truly to stop matches for legitimate reasons and hand out sanctions, then go all the way. But if they're just tossing them for no reason, what's the point of all the whining after the fines hit? It makes the group look hypocritical too; they should have distanced themselves from those hooligans long ago. Even if flares create atmosphere, it feels like it's regressing lately. Is it going to be 80 flares or 140 at the next derby? It's not like it's anything new or cool anymore.

And regarding what you said about supporters using horns and whistles—man, I feel for you. If that's the future of cheering, we're doomed. We're looking at a total lack of style. Stadiums are getting emptier because they're hiking up prices so fast—just like they did with the World Men's Handball Championship—effectively pricing people out and turning everything into some tacky masquerade. On the other hand, I get it; it's all about the money, the market, and the sponsors. They're terrified of the actual fans. Just imagine their fear or embarrassment if someone pulls a flare stunt during the finals of the World Men's Handball Championship... who knows what they're thinking? They'd much rather have sponsors that fit that typical American carnival vibe.
New fan legislation in Fans ·
Yeah, right. What’s this "small-town teacher" actually going to do? Her main goal is clearly to dissolve and sink the entire fan movement—something we already saw starting to happen during the World Handball Championship when fans were pitted against those privileged, corporate-sponsored behemoths...
Just give me some actual, constructive ideas (enough with the constant bickering) if there's anything left to be done...
Reconciliation in Philosophy ·
I think reconciliation is actually possible even in those extreme scenarios you're talking about. At its core, it’s about finding some kind of relief for your own sake. Until that happens... well, it takes time. Even with therapy or whatever else helps. Most people just end up consumed by this hatred that tears them apart from the inside—this desperate craving for revenge or that endless, agonizing wait for a version of justice that honestly doesn't exist. Just forgive. If nothing else, do it for yourself.
(..For me, it was the same. For way too long after the war, I was surrounded by this pathological hatred that practically destroyed me. I was a slave to it, sinking deeper and deeper while being fully aware of my own helplessness, just wandering aimlessly until I finally sat down, had a real talk, and decided to let it go.)👍

Hey there.
