Is democracy actually alive in the USA? in Philosophy ·
Maybe bribery isn't even fundamentally about the laws themselves—I mean, look at ours—but rather the total failure of enforcement and how badly things fall apart in practice, especially with our backlogged courts... corruption is just everywhere.
So, is this some kind of metric for democracy? And if so, how much does it actually reflect the state of things?

Does any country actually have a voting machine that advanced? Honestly, it feels like the sheer amount of paperwork required just to make that kind of system work would be a total nightmare...

Basically agree with everything here.
I had them too.
But the actual mechanism behind how they happen? Still a mystery to me...
Look, you just have to understand it—learn to relax your body and let your subconscious take over during sleep to shape the dream exactly how you want it.😁

Had one once. I was totally disoriented, then some drunk guy interrupted my flow, so I took a bathroom break. When I finally laid back down, I basically programmed and tuned the whole experience (grinning like an idiot through my wrinkles...) until sunrise. It was incredible... but honestly, it could've been even better.🙏

Jack is Jack.
Only one guy writes under this handle. So, no "you guys." (Not that I'm making this about me...).
I respect the effort, whatever it is, but what’s with that "king of the hill" attitude where you try to kick me off the thread? I'm just asking questions—it's a democracy, right? (Look, I'm not looking for a fight), if something isn't clear, I ask. If you want actual, useful advice, talk to a high-priced lawyer. If that works, fine...
Cheers!

P.S. Like I said, it's just my take. Whether people like it or not... (Whatever. I've learned to be a bit more objective after dealing with all those empty promises and our recent political shifts...)

Good luck to everyone out there...

Huge props to the people actually putting in the work on this and getting lawyers involved. They’re some of the few folks around here who are actually taking action instead of just running their mouths. Honestly, seeing this kind of initiative is exactly why I even signed up for this forum. Since I'm a bit pressed for time, I'll keep my contribution brief...

Article 32a

Under the current fan legislation, anyone subject to a protective order under Article 32, Section 1, Subsection 4 is required to hand over their passport to the local police station no later than seven days before kickoff. Additionally, they have to report to the designated precinct at least four hours before the game starts and remain on-site for two hours following the final whistle.

Here’s my take: if we’re already forced to hand over our passports seven days before kickoff—which is a total joke and could be overturned any second—then why on earth do we still have to check in at the police station four hours before the game? And if we're stuck doing that check-in, what's the point of them having the power to hold us at the station for two hours until the match ends? Honestly, since Ivica Todorić is going to rent us his helicopter, there’s no excuse for us missing the game.🙄

So, here’s my take: if we're already grabbing our passports just two or three days before the big game, there really isn't any point in bothering the local police station with notifications.

This is getting out of hand. We aren't going to sit by while they start seizing passports, and we aren't taking kindly to being forced to check in with the police anymore, either.

Our proposal leans toward the English model. We’re talking about banning someone from entering the stadium and its immediate vicinity if they have a final court ruling against them—under the threat of heavy prison time. Honestly, that’s even tougher than what they do over there. The best part? It avoids all the police harassment, the constant stalking at work or school, or having your entire neighborhood think you're some kind of drug dealer just because you lit a flare. Plus, it would save the police and the courts a massive amount of paperwork and wasted man-hours. ☕

Well, there you have it...

Man, who's actually going to ask you, buddy? Whether you "accept" passport seizures or police check-ins or whatever? How many of you suddenly turned into a massive political assembly overnight?
For example, I ended up in a holding cell just a day before the Inter Miami CF vs. New York Yankees match. They told me it was just to sign some stupid form at the station to say whether I was going to the game. I show up, and suddenly there's an old warrant and I'm straight to Brooklyn for a night... I know people who had it way worse...
Besides, the cops really don't care what your neighbors think—whether you're a dealer, a profiler, or a gambler...

What good are photos? A couple of bruised heads and suddenly it’s automatically the cops' fault—as if that would hold up in a small claims court, let alone anything else... Besides, the police bring in "troublemakers" who are a bit rougher than usual, and then what? You think the cops are going to face trial? Meanwhile, those of us who caused three massive scenes during our last five away games are treated like we're picking daisies😂... were those just some agitators from the die-hard fans?😲
Furthermore, those photos from the stadium don't say much for the fans. There's a squad of cops just sitting there on orders, acting as security for a high-risk game. How many times has a cop taken a hit from a bottle thrown from the crowd? (seen it happen). So how exactly are they supposed to act when they're policing an organization like the BBB? Come on, let's not be hypocrites.
Clean up the trash and the phonies within your own ranks before you start talking. You can't be against the ownership one minute and then sucking up to them or begging for a beer after the game (seen it...) or scrambling for tickets the next.
In short—I've been hit plenty of times by the law, both when I deserved it and when I didn't, but that's just the fan lifestyle that clearly some people can't wrap their heads around. And don't think the cops were all honey and milk back in the mid-80s. (Back then, you couldn't even find anyone to pity you if you got beaten up...) Most of the bad cops are intentionally placed at high-risk games, but you'd be surprised how many times I've been lucky because they looked the other way, though that's not really the point here.
Just remember all those intense ACAB provocations... isn't it a bit hypocritical to complain about police brutality after everything? Either you're playing games or you're playing ninja. Clearly, being a hardcore fan isn't for everyone, so maybe stay out of business you can't handle.
Cheers!👍
Good luck...

Look, honestly, with these recent stunts, our reputation is already trashed. Any politician in D.C. would love this move more than we do. I’m signing the petition right now at a bar in lanishte, but I’m skeptical about any actual result.🤣...If there had been a real plan, something logical that wasn't just cobbled together over the last year... but this feels like a desperate, "hail mary" Hail Mary pass.
Basically, most of this is on us. Why is it so hard for individuals to just admit that? But no, it’s always the waitress's fault, or the cops won't let you bring beer in—which they haven't for ages, so that's nothing new... just endless, petty nonsense fueled by pure spite, if you ask me.
It was rare enough when the fan clubs actually stood up for their own bullshit and owned it.
And what are you guys even doing in those clubhouses besides crushing hundreds of beers? Are you talking about anything constructive? Making any real plans?
Someone called the law hypocritical? Please. You have no idea how many pages I could write just about the hypocrisy within BBB. One side is busy sucking up to the owner, while others get free tickets—or from what I’ve seen, they shamelessly beg him for drinks after the game, and of course, the big man hands out a few bucks, only for everyone to call him a prick at the next match. Who's the hypocrite here? Start cleaning up your own house and get rid of the dead weight that just shames you and drags you down to the gutter.
Then you've got the crew decked out in designer gear and expensive jackets, coming up to the stadium begging for a ticket. Get lost, you trash... There are way too many freeloaders in the group—I've seen plenty—and I don't know why you tolerate them. Is it because you know them or just because you're all drunk?
As for the cops, it’s not all black and white. (I have my own examples where they actually stepped up, but that's not the point). Let's be real instead of constantly accusing people of exaggerating everything.
Dammit, the police have been provoked for years—everything from ACAB chants to getting flashbangs tossed in their faces from the crowd—so what do you expect? You think they’re going to hand out candy at the gates after you drop a flare or scream ACAB? That's pretty immature.
Do you even remember how the police used to beat people senseless back in the mid-80s? Did you have any rights back then?
Ah, I guess it's too much to ask you to stand behind your own mess and say, "Yeah, that happened." Otherwise, you'll never get organized. Use your heads. Honestly, I don't think those attached photos will do anything at all, and I can explain why if anyone cares.
Good luck to you all!
Cheers!👍

If you ask me, try being a patriot first if there's any way you can 😁. I don't see anything wrong or negative with that... respecting and loving your own land, no matter what kind of place it is... it's yours...

And honestly, what's a person without a backbone and their own opinion🤷?

As for this whole socialism thing, I'm not buying it... because we aren't, and we can't all be, equal or identical...

UPS? Look, every single disease is awkward and heavy in its own damn way. It’s always the biggest burden for the person actually living through it...
I guess I’m back to square one because of a few things:
-is this person actually being objective?
-are they prone to exaggerating just to ease their own conscience?
-could there be some underlying issue at play?
-basically, can we even trust this person's perspective or sense of reality?

And even if they're right and the person really is "evil," it all comes down to scale. How much damage are we talking about, and how is this person defining "evil" in the first place?..
(for instance, someone might call a person evil for having dark thoughts toward a neighbor—which is pretty harmless—versus actual criminal behavior where they've actually crossed the line..)

Mark Torres14 said:Sure, but look—up until now, we've been totally unique. Most of what we know and every conclusion we've reached comes from that fact. We have absolutely nobody else in our entire universe to compare ourselves to. The real question is: what happens to humanity when that changes?

-So why the bold text? You already said we should assume some hypothetical intelligence exists out there. If they were more dominant or productive than us, wouldn't we just end up following their lead?...
It's a jungle out there in Philosophy ·
Look, if we actually ran into an alien intelligence... it all comes down to its quality, its stability, its intensity. Who knows. Were you thinking we'd just have to bow down to it because we couldn't hold our own? Or would we somehow be superior to it in one way or another?

loneowl72 said:I’m reaching out because I really need some advice here. I’m 38, healthy—yeah, actually—but lately, things have taken a turn. About a month ago, I started noticing some pretty strange behavior from my mom, who’s 70, and my dad, who’s 72. To get straight to the point: by all accounts, it looks like my mother might be dealing with paranoid schizophrenia. She’s become absolutely convinced that my father is cheating on her—that he’s constantly texting someone behind her back (even though he really only ever calls or texts people already saved in his contacts). It’s gotten to the point where she’s tearing the entire house apart every single day just to find "proof" for what she thinks is happening. Whenever my brother or I try to gently explain that none of this is real, she snaps at us, insisting she isn't crazy and threatening to stop talking to us entirely if we even mention calling a doctor. What are we supposed to do? Honestly, she’s such a wonderful person, but I’m genuinely scared for her.

-Look, nobody here can give you a real solution; you need a professional. This forum is just for advice, but in the real world, you need to get a family member to a psychiatrist or a follow-up appointment—assuming she’s already been diagnosed once before. Is she actually staying on her medication, or is she skipping doses or forgetting them?
Schizophrenia - General Discussion in Psychology & Therapy ·
Melissa Rivera5 said:I’ve been thinking about something pretty heavy lately. Is it actually possible to treat schizophrenia without medication? Like, at all? Or even just theoretically speaking?

Well, look—meds (depending on which ones you're talking about) are still more frequent, effective, and accepted for stabilizing psychosis involving grandiose delusions. But let's be real: we're talking about suppressing symptoms, not actually curing anything. That's the classic pattern. Most doctors don't claim to "cure" it because you can't really cure it; they just manage it by using drugs to push the symptoms down.
There have been some experimental non-drug approaches that showed slightly better results in the early stages, but overall? Nothing compares to targeted pharmacotherapy in terms of long-term outcomes.
They've even experimented with things like hypnosis or using AT&T, but nothing has really moved the needle significantly.
Schizophrenia - General Discussion in Psychology & Therapy ·
When you're talking about trips versus schizophrenia, there's no simple black-and-white answer. It isn't just one thing; it’s a messy mix of variables like: -genetic predisposition...
-environmental stressors and surroundings
-the potency of the acid...
-hitting a specific trigger at the wrong moment that kicks a disorder into gear, and so on.😉
