I’m with you on that; Tarik really ruined the experience for me. By the end of the film, I honestly couldn't bring myself to care what happened to his character.

As for the humor, there are some decent bits, but I have to agree with Jason. Nowadays, we can laugh at how those people sing their anthems with such misplaced pride and hollow confidence, but back then, that was just our reality. It wasn't particularly funny sitting in a theater, and I highly doubt the people being mocked found it amusing either.

The characters are great—each one brings something unique to the table—and the story hits all the right notes by the end. The soundtrack is solid, too.

I actually think the movie holds up quite well. It seems like people just love to act intellectually superior and tear everything living apart. 😁
