My bad on the typo, my "v" key isn't working (had to borrow one from someone else, but you can't do that forever, assuming people are smart enough to follow along without it...)
Clearly, I made a wrong assumption...

And here I was thinking you were self-assured...
Now you're trying to turn this into a debate about material stuff?
Does being a moderator and having a certain handle really matter so much to you that you'd throw money at it?
I can't believe this...
😂

Look, I just wanted to make sure if that was actually a typo or if you accidentally cut off part of your question. Sorry, but I like to double-check things. I honestly thought you were being helpful here. Clearly, my bad assumption was wrong.

I mean, seriously? Is this really how we're gonna talk to each other? 🤷

You totally missed my point. Seriously, go back and read what I wrote again. 😉

@Rebecca Rogers5, you're late, but honestly, I'm not even surprised.

Rachel Sanchez11 said:And once again, we've turned this thread into whatever boldhound8 was rambling about regarding U vs M.
But I guess that happened because the mods feel like they're being attacked...
Hmm, does it count as "already said" if you were just stating your own opinion?

Yeah, I love thinking like that, and usually, I'll double down on that kind of logic...
😁

Especially when I've got nothing better to do...
☕

P.S. smartie, if everything really had been said, there wouldn't be a brand new thread all about her...
Let's make a bet:
If a similar thread about her pops up within a month, you resign and get a permanent ban...
If it doesn't happen, I'll never become a moderator (Lord knows what I'm even betting here) and I'll get a permanent ban...

Deal?

I don't get it. "Was something said"? Said what?

Anyway, every single thread ends up like this because that’s how they start. I don't feel attacked at all—is there a problem with us just having a conversation? 😉 I was just joking around, don't get all sensitive on me... 🙂

Edit: hey, do you even own anything? 😁 You're out here betting on stuff like that, so I'm actually kind of worried about your bank account. 😁>

Rachel Sanchez11 said:Yeah, you could drag stuff like this out until the day after tomorrow...
But look, if five different people complain about the exact same behavior within three months—unless they're all in some weird conspiracy together—there's a massive chance that specific behavior actually exists...
Or maybe it's just a coincidence. I mean, I believe in coincidences, but I don't believe they happen by accident....

Here’s an example:
Topic 1

Topic 2

User comment on Topic 2

Another user's comment on the same topic

Response from a respected moderator....

And not a single admin showed up for any of these complaints to say, "Hey, maybe something isn't right here..."
And sorry for dragging up something that actually hurt my feelings and making me sound biased (and petty 😁), but everyone scratches where it itches, and honestly, I haven't been following the FBI lately so I don't have a bigger sample size to work with...

EDIT: I think I need to post this too...
When this happens, things go totally sideways and the mods are forced to hand out permanent bans...

It's not hard to find stupid complaints; the hard part is finding a justified complaint that actually serves the common good!

Oh, and I actually have a theory as to why admins don't punish the mods, but I probably shouldn't say it out loud...
😁

Maybe it's because they have nothing to say? 🤔 Or honestly, maybe they don't even feel the need to speak up? Maybe everything's already been said? 🤔

No way, I'm not buying it. 🤷

Look, I'm bored too. 😁

Angela Kelly11 said:I totally forgot to ask—is it better to go when the flare-up isn't active? Or is it actually better to go while it's flaring? 🤷

The doctors told me to show up during the first or second day of the flare. I mean, if nothing is flared up, there’s basically nothing for them to even look at. But then again, it really depends on how bad the flare is. For me, they checked my groin area first to see if my lymph nodes were swollen, and once they saw everything looked normal there, they gave me the green light to go ahead with the surgery.

Angela Kelly11 said:So now I’m just gonna go see a surgeon on my own dime. Honestly, trying to deal with this whole insurance referral thing is a joke at this point.

Look, I don't know which GP you're seeing, but when I went to mine, I showed her everything, asked for the referral, and boom—got it done.

I actually went to my OBGYN and Dermatologica first, but both of them told me the drill: I gotta hit up general surgery and get that referral from my primary doctor first, then I'm good to go.

Maybe try switching doctors? Your current one sounds totally checked out. Especially since she basically said it wasn't her problem. I mean, okay, she isn't the one performing the surgery, but she's the gatekeeper for all the paperwork. It matters.

Seriously can't wait to hear what actually happened. 🤣

Actually, it totally is a sebaceous cyst.

shadowtinker21 said:Ugh, there are honestly so many things it could be... it actually shrunk a bit today, but man, it hurts so bad. There’s this dark purple, slightly swollen area right there—but I'm not even worried about the color, it's just how hard it feels. It's not right on the opening, but a little higher up, maybe half a centimeter, sort of an elongated shape. I definitely need to see a doctor. I'm not originally from Chicago, but I'm going to school here, and I haven't switched over to a local doctor yet, so where should I go in the city? Thanks for all the advice 🙏

It's not a matter of "so many things," it sounds like an atheroma 😁 😁

Just hit up your primary care doc, get a referral for general surgery, and have them drain it.

Kimberly Wilson43 said:Wait, what if it’s actually an inflamed Bartolinijeva gland? If that's the case... things just got way more serious.

Nah, the Bartolinijeva gland is on the mucosa, not the groin. And trust me, when those get inflamed, the pain is next-level specific. This definitely isn't that.

It’s way easier if you just skip the referral and the checkup and head straight to the ER at a major hospital. Just try to get there in the morning. Seriously, don't show up late at night when they're on the night shift—those people are total jerks.

They actually told me to aim for the evening shifts to avoid the wait, but I was honestly terrified of what you mentioned above. So, I did the "normal" thing and went during the day with my insurance paperwork ready. Honestly? It was the fastest thing I’ve ever done. I think I was in and out in like ten minutes flat. Total whirlwind. I didn't even know what hit me. 😁

😕
So, about two weeks ago, this bump popped up in my bikini area—right where the edge of my underwear sits—and it’s driving me insane. I’ve been slapping Band-Aids on it just so I can actually walk without pain. Now, it’s like, it starts to clear up, then suddenly it leaks... probably pus, maybe some blood, then nothing, and then it just swells right back up again. It feels super hard too. What even is this, and more importantly, how do I make it go away?!

That sounds like an atheroma (basically a clogged sebaceous gland or a buildup of oils). I dealt with the exact same thing a few months back, except my duct was totally blocked so I had to head over to the Mayo Clinic to have them lance it. Honestly, don't bother asking a gynecologist; they won't help you with this since it's not really their specialty, even if it's in an area we usually associate with OBGYNs. You need to see a dermatologist for this stuff.

I don't get how this is "urgent" when you've been sitting on it since July. 🙄

Just go see a doctor.

Yeah, real urgent...

Not even an issue. I’ve been paying it this way for like 6 years now. Honestly, the interest is basically peanuts—just a few bucks coming out of my account.

William Vaughn14 said:Look, smart guy, do you actually have HPV? Or are you planning on catching it? Is there even a realistic chance you'll end up with it anytime soon?

I’m gonna wait until you actually answer the question you're dodging.

So, are you still out here claiming HPV is some made-up disease, or did we just edit your opinion a little bit?
