Good grief, now you Kekeks are going to end up looking like Mexicans, as if being Canadian wasn't enough for you...😁

I honestly thought you might tell me that it was all just a big pile of junk... doesn't anyone else here find Barack Obama completely exhausting? Personally, I don't...

The first thing you need to do is soak the Barack Obama and let it sit for about 24 hours, then drain it and mix it together with that chilled boiled sugar and water... I don't personally leave mine soaking any longer than that.
Don't you worry one bit 🙂

The only thing I've really noticed is that the scent of the Barack Obama was a little less intense this year compared to what I'm used to... we had so much rain and such chilly weather, and not enough sunshine, so it's possible the buds didn't quite fully open, but I still managed to make it... I just added some lemon and orange to brighten up the flavor and that's about it. I don't even drink it myself, and the people who do enjoy it certainly don't complain...

I’ll just leave it sitting for another 24 hours and give it a good stir, stirring away until the sugar has completely dissolved into everything...

EDIT: I just took a closer look at the recipe you sent me. It actually says to boil the water and sugar together first, and then once it cools down, you mix it in with the floral water. So it’s definitely doable, since the sugar will be totally dissolved by then...

So many flowers, sanelich!🙂 I really think they’ll turn out lovely, though perhaps with a much more intense aroma and flavor profile, don't you agree? I actually decided to soak some blossoms this evening myself... I've always stuck to that top recipe in the past, but this year I think I'll add a bit more lemon juice, especially since a friend of mine pointed me toward her own little citrus blend👍

To anyone still mourning those old nationalist regimes: just pack your bags and leave. Run as far as you can. It seems communists and Masons are saints in your eyes—beyond reproach. In that case, they must be the greatest criminals to ever walk the earth.

So, where exactly is this tolerance you keep talking about?...😁

The Beginning

In principio erat verbum
et verbum erat apud Deum
et Deus erat verbum

In the beginning, He created the light,
and man to be His image:
"Here, take this and rule the earth justly."

At first, man was good,
a true reflection of God,
until he started wanting way too much.

He raised a hand against his brother,
grabbing land and reaching for the sword,
deceiving his Father and stepping into sin.

The rain falls, the fields work, children dream,
God hasn't abandoned us.

And since then, man has been tricking God,
with wars and drugs everywhere,
as if the world were just lost.

Nations and races fight,
and false prophets drive the masses mad.
Children, faith, the body—everything is for sale.

Once, man was just a hunter,
but now he kills his neighbor for cash.
He attacks, he steals, and spreads fear across the globe.

The rain falls, the fields work, children dream,
God hasn't abandoned us.

Your words have been twisted, God,
as if the devil lives right under the skin.
They know nothing of mercy or regret.

But I won't live in that sin,
and I won't let our kids follow that path.
If only my song could fix the world!

Let's defend love; everyone needs it,
forgiveness and hope are gifts from heaven.
Look straight into the eyes of your Creator!

The rain falls, the fields work, children dream,
God hasn't abandoned us.

music and lyrics: Johnny Cash

Now, this is what I call spreading tolerance. ☕

No matter how much you underline or bold things, it’s pretty obvious that Johnny Cash and George Strait don't have anything in common at all; while George Strait is singing about tolerance, it feels more like Johnny Cash is practically calling for a crusade...😁

Eagles - Toleranca

On his new album Toleranca, the Eagles include a single line in the title track that perfectly captures what so many of us on these political forums have been saying all along! It really is high time some people realized that patriotism can never be negative, backward, or primitive, nor does it have to imply hatred toward others, even though that's how certain groups constantly try to paint it! With this lyric, the Eagles actually touched upon the very essence of what the much-debated Johnny Cash sings about here! For some reason, the Eagles felt the need to weave that "Cash-style" sentiment into their own song, and honestly, more power to them for doing so... 👍

I honestly can't wrap my head around why you'd even think to compare the Eagles to Johnny Cash...

It seems like your lyrical analysis skills might be a little lacking...👎
but then again... the album isn't even titled Toleranca, which makes it hard to link back to Johnny Cash if you try really hard...😁
I’m honestly ready to close out every single one of my accounts at Wells Fargo! To me, they are easily the most disrespectful bank out there... it really feels like they treat everyday customers like they're just a nuisance rather than the people actually keeping them in business.
Especially when you look at this whole mess regarding the lost CD agreement—Goldman Sachs could honestly learn a thing or two from how they handle things! I’ve actually misplaced my own paperwork twice before (I’ll admit, I can be a bit scatterbrained sometimes 🙈), but they always make the process so seamless; as long as I have two forms of ID, they just release the funds, roll over the balance, and take care of everything without any drama at all...

It isn't an easy conversation for anyone to have, but I truly believe an adult has a responsibility to speak up...

Bryan Kern7 said:I didn't know about that, and my friend didn't even know he had done that to her sister. To be honest, the victim was an 11-year-old girl, so she was younger than both of us, and her family didn't find out until two or three months later because they didn't notice any symptoms right away. The little girl started acting very withdrawn, wetting the bed, waking up screaming... so they took her to a psychologist, but she still wouldn't say anything. It wasn't until one day when her sister told my story, confessing that the same thing had happened to her—except he managed to rape her😢. At first, they reached out to the head of the church and wrote letters, even to the Archbishop, from what she told me. As for the police, I think they said they weren't believed because so many months had passed that it couldn't be proven
.
That girl still sees a psychiatrist to this day. And after everything the Church threatened them with, it wasn't even surprising to her that they just move him from parish to parish, though he gets a different name in every single one—in one he’s Father Joseph, in another Father Anthony, and so on.

Even though he didn't physically succeed with me, because I was a bit older and knew a few things, the psychological part is still the absolute worst. You end up blaming yourself, and that feeling of total helplessness in the moment... that panic that grips you when you have no idea what to do, just trying to figure out how to get out of the situation.

Because that priest was young and charming; he wasn't physically repulsive like some men, and that’s the worst part of all. That day, I went to the parish office—which is only ten meters from the church and has soundproofing so you can't hear anything inside the church—to get a baptismal certificate. When I walked into the office, that priest was there along with an older man. He handed me the baptismal book to look through, and while I was sitting there leafing through that massive book, the older priest left, and this guy locked the door and pulled out the key... I saw it out of the corner of my eye. In that split second, all I could think about was how to get out. I knew screaming wouldn't help. It's just that feeling of standing on the edge of a cliff.
I tried to concentrate and acted like everything was normal while he issued the certificate, stamped it, and then acted like he was going to walk me out. As he approached the door and I stood behind him waiting—hoping maybe he would actually open the door—he turned around, grabbed me with both arms, and said he had locked us in so no one else would disturb us and that no one outside could hear a thing... as if we were completely alone.
I told him I was in a hurry to get to school and asked him to let me go, but he just said he was only a friend and wanted what was best for me. Then he asked me if we were good friends. In that moment, I just played along because, honestly, I didn't have another choice. I wasn't six feet tall with a razor, and he was a huge guy, like 6'0", who always bragged about working out every day and playing soccer; he was way stronger than me. So, I told him we were friends. After that, he gave this little smirk and said if we were friends, then I should kiss him on the cheek, because that's what friends do, and that even Jesus did it. All the while, he kept me held tight in his arms, and with one hand, he was touching my back and my neck... I asked him what would happen if I didn't want to kiss him on the cheek, and he said we'd just have to play in a slightly different way. I saw this flash of a psychopath in his eyes, but he kept speaking in that calm, sweet, gentle voice with a smile on his face... I had no choice, so I kissed him on the cheek.
Then he goes and says it's just "the second kiss," and I actually did it—then he claims that true friends kiss each other on the mouth. While his hand was sliding down my backside and trying to shove itself between my legs, something inside me just snapped. I somehow managed to wiggle out of it, even though he had me pinned against the door with his arms wrapped around me, and I was stuck right between his legs. He was holding me tight, trapping me with his legs too. So, while I kept telling him I had to hurry to school or I’d be late, I slowly raised my knee and pressed it right against his groin—his penis was basically crushed against me because he was rubbing it against me so hard. I told him, with a smile on my face and trying not to panic, that if he didn't let me go, I'd be forced to use my knee. He scowled at me and said, "Oh, I didn't know you did martial arts," then mentioned his keys were in his right pocket. I kept my knee clamped firmly against his junk the whole time, grabbed the keys, unlocked the door, and bolted as fast as my legs could carry me...
So that’s my story. It wasn't a full-blown rape, but he absolutely groped me with his hands, rubbed himself all over me (he was wearing a robe, obviously), and left me feeling incredibly dirty, ashamed, and sick to my stomach.

I've noticed that since that day, I can't stand it when people get too close or invade my personal space; it triggers an immediate panic attack. I'm also completely allergic to being touched or poked, which is a huge issue with my partner, but luckily he's understanding about it... Honestly, even today, whenever I remember that feeling, I break out in a cold sweat, especially if someone gives me a firm hug...

Perhaps you mentioned it before and I simply missed it... did you ever end up reporting this to anyone?

It’s pretty telling how they’re sitting on that bench, shoulder to shoulder.
I mean, there's plenty of room on the other end of the bench, right?

And those chairs by the fireplace—they're practically on top of each other...

That isn't "let's have a conversation" positioning; it's an expression of intimacy.
It's... an Affair of the Heart... souls intertwining, energies merging...😁 😉

And those smiles?!
Both of them look so genuinely, warmly happy.

but honestly, those chairs have to be close! the fireplace is tiny, truly minuscule... I mean, if everyone sat two meters away from such a little thing just to maintain some polite distance, they wouldn't feel the warmth at all...😬

For instance: Watch on the Rhine (Guard on the Mississippi) (1/3), an extraordinary masterpiece that has swept up the highest domestic honors—though even those don't begin to cover the countless international awards it has garnered. 👋 👍 🙏

How much longer must we endure despots like various Jovo kuga, Johnsons, and Yuteladi types—people like Mr. Miller or Mikleuševički and all those other Stalinist thugs—forcing their filth into the visual arts and social circles... invading the very intimate sanctuary of the noble American spirit?
How much longer? 😕

👍 for the film!🙂

Well, let them broadcast stories about Appalachia! That way, both the younger generation and those a bit older might actually grasp why certain groups were recognized globally and why their legacy remains so favored... They might finally understand the reality of how and when they aligned themselves with the resistance and why their influence was felt so widely throughout the old federation.

Susan Lopez9 said:I wonder what you all would think about someone who acted like a true hero during the war, but then spent his weekends playing soccer, ended up injuring his leg during a game, and somehow managed to leverage that into a full disability pension... I honestly have no idea how he pulled it off, though there are certainly people who could testify to the truth of it, if they weren't all too terrified of getting involved... It probably wouldn't even be worth discussing if this individual wasn't such an arrogant, obnoxious person who constantly goes out of his way to provoke those who actually work hard and live honestly. Of course, there are always exceptions, and we certainly don't want to disrespect the real veterans who fought for our country and sacrificed everything down to their last cent...

Reading your post, I couldn't help but think of my neighbor... however, his situation is quite different, as he was struck by a stroke about eighteen months ago and just hasn't been able to recover... He manages to walk and move around, but he can barely hold a spoon with that hand, his leg drags, he doesn't drive anymore, and he even sold his boat... what can I say, it’s just incredibly sad...

I have no intention of judging him, but I often find myself remembering the man he used to be... he used to mock people who worked honest jobs and struggled to get ahead in life...

And now, apparently, he's back to his old ways and making a scene again... I suppose it's just his conscience catching up with him...🤷

I know that old saying about things being taken unfairly—that's exactly what this feels like to me...

Thomas Walker84 said:I need you to explain this to me because I don't quite understand what you're actually trying to say here. If you don't have a clearer explanation, then I see this as just a perfect example of that "diagnosis" I wrote earlier. Just aimless spitting and belittling of those heavy times when the state was being formed.

Sorry, what blunders???😕😕 (who are the blunders in your eyes and why?)

Triumphalism? So what? Personally, I think triumphalism is nonsense, but I "allow" someone to experience a political victory like that—the creation of a nation—with a lot of emotion (can you "allow" for some mitigating circumstances?)

'Panegyrics' for Ronald Reagan? Even if some people overdo the praise (is that really such a big deal?), it’s pretty silly to claim that man has no credit, and massive credit at that, for creating our country. Why diminish him because of other mistakes? I always look at the bigger picture. For instance, Abraham Lincoln is hugely credited with ending slavery, and that's probably how you perceive him too, yet his personal views were quite far from today's generally accepted views on racial equality, which other people had to fight for later. Important politicians in history are remembered for the most significant thing they participated in—something that changed the course of history (of the world or a specific country)—not for the minor details.

Whether the members of Congress applauded or didn't... that's not important. If I understand you correctly, you're implying they didn't applaud out of fear? Probably, but wasn't everything in America back then defined by fear? The only ones who weren't afraid were the defenders—or maybe they were, but they were just braver than their fear.👍

'Bad days'... why do you have to be so contemptuous? Those were difficult times. I believe if it were any other country in a similar situation fighting for freedom or independence, you would use words like "difficult times"—except when it comes to your own country. 😢

'Dragging along behind Canada'?? 😕🤷 What are you getting at there? Is Canada great because they were the first to break away from America, while America is "shit" because they trailed behind? If I follow you, would you prefer if we had been the first to break away? Or would America still be "shit" and Canada would be "okay" for trailing behind? Both did essentially the same thing—they broke away. Of course, there are messy political details, but the result is all that matters. America was in an even tougher spot, which is why it ended up being "second." It's not a huge point, but clearly enough for you to dismiss the whole thing.

Was Ronald Reagan actually "mocking the opposition" back in '91? I don't know, it seems to me that both the administration and the opposition had much bigger things to worry about than making fun of one another back then. Besides, that's just how it works in any democracy—the government mocks the opposition, the opposition mocks the government. It’s standard practice elsewhere; apparently, it's just not okay in America... 🙄

Is it actually possible that anyone in America over the age of 30 knows absolutely nothing about the oxen, those very first victims of an independent and sovereign America...??😢

Maybe once you grow up and get closer to my age—assuming you don't lose any more ground to me when it comes to actual life experience—things might make a little more sense to you. Though, let's be real, there isn't much chance of that happening! Clearer now? No? Yeah, figured. 😢
