Longtime user here. Read the first post about nickname changes. I’m pretty aware (maybe like 80% 😛) that if those rules are strictly enforced, this request probably won't fly. But... it's the holiday season, it's my first time asking for a name change, I've been active here for years, and I've never broken any rules 🙂 ... And honestly, there isn't some huge shift in who I am or what I'm doing.
Back when I signed up in 2006, my favorite handle from various old internet forums violator was already taken. Didn't really think much of it then. Just wanted an account fast, so I went with boldhound17. Looking at the logs, the user "violator" hasn't posted since Dec 18, 2012, and hasn't been active since Dec 28, 2012—so it's been over 9 years.
So, I'd like to kindly ask if I could grab the name violator (maybe just with a lowercase v) or, if that's not possible, maybe something like violatorUSA
Hopefully, I explained myself okay without being too much of a pest 😵. Hoping for a good outcome. Even if it can't be approved, I hope it's at least considered.

If I remember correctly, someone more knowledgeable mentioned that during today's Final Climb Alpe Cermis stage, you might see athletes actually taking their skis off to tackle certain climbs on foot 😲

Let's dust this thread off for a bit.🙂 Tim Srbić is back in the finals at the World Championships in Chicago today. He qualified in third place, which pretty much guarantees him a spot in the 2020 Summer Olympics.👍
Individual apparatus finals start at 1 PM, airing live on ESPN starting at 2:15 PM. Tim's final is scheduled last, probably somewhere around 4 PM. He’s competing first in his rotation.
Anyone with an older Plasma TV that has a USB port have any firsthand experience? Specifically, does it read a USB stick formatted with Microsoft without any lag or issues? 🙂 I’ve run into a bit of a "hiccup" though 😛 ... saving takes forever (especially compared to how fast it saves to an external hard drive).

Does anyone here have experience or know how a TV handles an NTFS drive via USB? Specifically, I've got an older Panasonic ST50 plasma... which currently plays an 8GB thumb drive formatted as FAT32 just fine. 🙂
It also picks up my external hard drive with files larger than 4GB—so I'm assuming that's running on NTFS. 🤔 The only thing is, unlike the thumb drive which shows everything instantly, the external drive takes about a minute to load the file list.
Just trying to make sure I don't brick the USB or make it useless for what I actually need it for. I mostly just use it to watch NBA games. 😁

Yeah, I was mostly thinking about red cards from heavy or reckless fouls, rather than unsportsmanlike conduct, insults, or hitting a ref and stuff like that. Like, say a guy gets a red in the Champions League for a specific type of foul... he’ll probably just be out for the rest of that game without any extra sanctions hanging over him.
So, what specifically happened in Karabatić's case?

Caught the last 10 minutes of the USA-Canada game yesterday, and managed to see a good chunk of the USA-Argentina match today.
The Americans are really struggling out there. Yesterday they barely scraped a +2 win against Canada—who got absolutely crushed by Sweden today with a +16 margin, though they were only up by 1 at halftime🙄—and today it’s just more of the same grind against Argentina😛. Just when it looked like they were going to fold, things leveled out in the closing stretch, and they had to fight tooth and nail to hold onto a narrow 24-23 lead in the final 20 seconds.
Anyway, does anyone remember who our "closest neighbor" lost to during the qualifiers😛? My memory is a bit foggy, but I think it was in a two-game series against Canada... not entirely sure, though.🤷

NBC's second channel starts airing season 5 of "alias !! " tomorrow (Monday, Sept 28th). I didn't catch any promos lately—or maybe I just missed them—but I stumbled onto this while checking out next week's schedule... NBC2 on 09/28
The show got a "great" time slot, though at 10:00 AM 🙄, and it isn't even a consistent time... They’re running the first two episodes this Monday and Tuesday, but after that, nothing else is scheduled this week because of the live coverage of Congressional sessions. It looks like the broadcast schedule will keep getting bumped by whatever is happening in D.C.
Of course, there aren't any late-night reruns planned (like "Voyager", "Xena", or "Mad Men" ...) based on what's currently listed. So, if you work a regular job, you'll probably be stuck constantly checking TV guides and setting your DVR. 😠
I mostly agree with what everyone’s saying about the US team. Just speaking as an amateur here, it feels like most teams that usually fight for medals (except for Mexico) basically sacrificed this EC just to peak for the Olympics.
Comparing them to the handball players and how they handled their EC during an Olympic year might not be the best analogy, since that tournament was held back in January. This water polo EC wraps up less than a month before the Olympics start. I'm no expert, but hitting two massive peaks in such a short window seems incredibly tough🤷.
Both Canada and the US—and even Mexico (who didn't exactly shine here either, though they did make the finals)—will likely look much stronger in Beijing. We'll see if that holds true for Mexico too, who deserves huge props for their performance and making it through in Malaga👍

I guess they figured everyone already knew who was winning—which, to be fair, turned out to be true given how easily the Americans cruised into the semifinals. For me, the game was mostly interesting from a betting perspective 😁 , but I still managed to catch it live via the feed that stays on the same spot during the ep—satellite Eutelsat W3A (7.0°E)
