I haven't noticed any difference since yesterday. I am still seeing occasional loading issues accompanied by that "Database error..." notification. 😍 😁
Pomona said:Victims often struggle with facing those who hurt them, longing to speak their truth regardless of whether the offender is actually seeking forgiveness.

This effort is futile if the "wrongdoer" feels no remorse and has no desire to be forgiven.

As someone who has both offered and received forgiveness, I can't agree with the idea that the person being forgiven isn't touched by the act at all.

That only happens if there is a mutual desire for reconciliation. Forgiveness works when the "wrongdoer" is truly repentant and wants peace, and the "victim" wants to release the weight of their emotions. However, more often than not, the "wrongdoer" lacks remorse entirely and firmly believes they did nothing wrong—in those cases, the victim's forgiveness won't affect them one bit.

It really was wonderful. 😢 To be honest, I found this current layout quite unattractive at first, though I have since grown accustomed to it. It does perform better than the previous version, certainly. 😢

blue bird said:Perhaps what surprises me most is how broadly forgiveness is discussed here, almost as if it were some kind of unconditional 'forgiving'—regardless of the circumstances involved...

Forgiving easily can happen when we haven't even perceived an action as an insult or a wound, but that isn't true forgiveness. Forcing oneself to forgive something that deeply hurt us is merely suppressing our genuine emotions through rationalization just to maintain a temporary sense of peace. Real forgiveness requires time to pass, because one needs space to express and process the pain, sadness, anger, rage, resentment, and hatred before new insights can settle in the mind. It seems to me that the less we force ourselves to forgive, and the more we honor our current feelings, the sooner true peace and resolution with the past will arrive. I have met many people who claim to have forgiven but haven't forgotten, still harboring bitterness and a desire for revenge. I have also experienced this myself, where all the things I thought were forgiven suddenly resurfaced at the slightest trigger. But those are just my own experiences...

By the way, I believe this topic belongs under Psychology, rather than Philosophy.
Forgiveness is really about finding peace within oneself rather than settling any score. When someone chooses to let go, they finally release the heavy burden of resentment and anger, which allows them to find true tranquility. On the other hand, some people approach forgiveness as a way to feel morally superior, using it to feed their own ego under the guise of being noble. Ultimately, forgiveness is an internal process tied to how we view ourselves. In most cases, the person we decide to forgive isn't even aware of it and likely wouldn't care if they were.
Goodbyes are overrated.

Forgiveness takes time. You cannot force oneself to forgive any more than you can force hatred to turn into love.

I used to believe that constant psychological deep dives and endless introspection were the keys to "working on myself." However, after spending quite a bit of time in that cycle, I realized my obsession was actually just an intense desire to control everything—my own thoughts, my emotions, and the world around me. Realistically, control is an illusion. No matter how much we study ourselves, life remains unpredictable; new elements are constantly emerging within us and our environment. Every single moment is unique, making our reactions entirely fresh. Once I embraced this, I let go of the need for control, which was one of the most challenging transitions of my life. Rather than being caught in a loop of living versus analyzing life, I chose to simply exist. 🙂 I truly believe that is the only way to experience the full richness of being alive.
Voltaren: Pros and cons? in Health ·
Walter Myers4 said:aside from the fact that it actually calms the pain quite quickly (which is why it’s smart to take it as soon as you feel cramps starting), it also helps with cramping and, most importantly, significantly reduces bleeding.

It doesn't have any effect on me. My stomach hurts just as much as if I hadn't taken anything at all. However, I know there are people for whom it does work.

I have to take it twice a day for the first two days and then I'm set. On the other hand, an entire dose of ibuprofen, acetaminophen, Advil, aspirin, and all those other painkillers only provides temporary relief while further irritating my system.

None of the options you mentioned help me in any way. 😁 But I find that classic analgesics—like Excedrin or Tylenol—actually do the trick for me.

Voltaren is strong, and it really hits you, but it definitely works.

I haven't had that experience. My grandmother has heart disease and issues with her blood pressure along with several other conditions, and they were constantly prescribing it to her, yet it never helped her back pain, so she eventually stopped taking it. I also know that Diclofenac injections can be dangerous; I personally know a few people who experienced severe inflammation at the injection site and faced various complications afterward. Therefore, I believe it is best to avoid them whenever possible.

this is what works for us 🙏 🙏

I know this medication primarily as a treatment for rheumatism. 😕 My grandmother uses it occasionally for her back pain. Some people have suggested it to me for menstrual cramps, but it hasn't worked for me at all—I don't seem to have any response to it.

What if we set up a virtual piggy bank where everyone contributes whatever they can afford? Little by little, we could pool our resources together and fund a brand-new server for our community.🙂 😁

I have a real soft spot for unconventional cinema, which is why I found Being John Malkovich quite enjoyable. 🙂

I realize this might be a controversial take, but I haven't actually watched a single movie on DVD yet, even though I have the software installed on my computer. 🙂 😁

I actually really enjoy having intermission breaks and would love to see them become more common. I've grown quite accustomed to movies with commercial breaks; honestly, even watching films on cable networks that don't interrupt the action can feel a bit taxing, since I can't even step away for a quick glass of water without missing part of the story.

It’s a pretty solid film to watch. 🙂 It’s quite entertaining.

I haven't heard anything about that before. I would certainly love to hear more of the details.
A doctor once advised me quite some time ago that artificial sweeteners should be avoided entirely; she suggested that if you really need sweetness, plain sugar is actually the better choice. However, since those substitutes are tucked away in so many sodas and snacks, it seems we might just have to skip all of those altogether.
