Moderator bias: Is it real? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Hey admin, I wanted to throw an idea your way if you guys have some spare cycles to actually look it over.

I’ve been watching this play out for a while now, and honestly, the constant complaints about moderator bias on this board are getting pretty old. Most of the drama seems to stem from people thinking the mods are too deep in the weeds of certain discussions, leading to this whole perception that they’re just settling scores with anyone who disagrees with them.

So, here’s my pitch: why not pull in some highly respected members or veteran users—people who actually have some street cred here—and give them the authority to review appeals from the sub-forums where they don't personally participate or moderate? Or, better yet, just let them handle the moderation for those specific sections entirely.

If you want a blueprint that actually works, just look at how you handled the Television sub-forum by giving two of those mods extra oversight over Politics (KCCLK) and Sci-Fi (lie).

Thanks for taking the time to consider this.

Honestly, everything just boils down to whoever is sitting across from you during the exam
Back when I was taking my Local Government course, I walked into the professor's office and the first thing I saw was this huge poster she’d put up looking for her lost cat. So, naturally, I mentioned that I have a cat too, and before I knew it, we spent about half an hour just geeking out over cats. Once the ice was broken, she tossed a few easy questions my way, and I cruised through the whole thing without a single hiccup.

The second half isn't quite hitting as hard as the first, but it’s not a total disaster either.

I know I’ve already given this one a shout-out, but here we go again
Seriously, this movie is incredible. Definitely worth your time if you're looking for something good.

I remember The Witcher stories pretty well. That’ll probably serve as the introduction

Lesser Evil has totally faded from my memory, so I'm definitely going to have to give it another read. I can picture how it starts, but the ending has completely slipped my mind

Noah Sanchez2 said:I’m honestly struggling to picture an actor who could actually pull off Geralt properly. Both the books and the games have massive potential for great cinema—there's enough wild adventure packed in there to fuel a trilogy or even more. It’ll be such a massive letdown if they just churn out some low-budget trash along the lines of Hobbit or Seventh Son. The Witcher is a way darker, more intense world; I don't really see much room for jokes or lightheartedness in there. The books and games frequently veer straight into pure horror territory.

Wait, what do you mean there's no room for humor in The Witcher? The whole saga is practically soaked in some pretty solid wit.
The Witcher feels more like something out of Grimm than the typical modern grimdark fantasy stuff you see nowadays. As dark as it gets, it’s still fundamentally a fairy tale world—it carries this nostalgic vibe from an era when kids actually stayed up late being terrified of monsters under the bed.

So they’re starting with the prequel vibes from Last Wish. Honestly, my brain is a sieve right now and I can't quite recall which specific story is the Lesser Evil one from that collection.
It looks like they're sticking to those shorter, standalone tales for now. If they ever actually try to tackle the main saga, they're going to have to roll up their sleeves and really get to work.

Honestly, it’s kind of a bummer he isn't a bit younger 😁

Are we looking at an adaptation straight from the books or is it going to pull from the games?
If they stick to the books, honestly, they could actually pull off a pretty killer series here. 👋

Look, I get it. That's exactly why I phrased it that way—just in case someone might take it the wrong way
. But personally? I don't think 😁 even remotely 😁

I really hope you're just pulling my leg here. Someone could easily take that the wrong way and call it racism or just straight-up trolling
Let’s try being decent toward our neighbors and other countries for once, shall we?
@Dorian
What exactly am I missing here? Which part of this post is supposedly lacking actual arguments?

Or maybe it's just everything crimsonjackal63 has been spewing on this thread lately.🤷

Moderating the immigration thread in Feedback & Suggestions ·
@Bradley Sanders4
Are we talking about actual refugees here, or just economic migrants? I honestly can't tell what you're officially calling these immigrants from your last post.
I was actually typing out a response on this thread, but I gave up pretty quickly. You say anyone who tries to do that job is bound to mess up. Sure, true. But when someone actually points out where you've screwed up, instead of taking the critique, you just start handing out participation trophies for trolling and accusing everyone on the forum of staging a witch hunt against the mods.
Biased and problematic moderator: Deckard on the film thread in Feedback & Suggestions ·
If I can say this without getting banned from here
Look, I’ve got nothing against briskhound2, whether you look at him as a regular user or as a moderator. Honestly, he’s never once handed me a ban.
Whenever a thread starts spiraling into some mindless, petty argument, briskhound2 usually steps in to clean up the mess—deleting a few posts and dropping a warning to stop the "who's bigger" nonsense or the constant back-and-forth about who gets the last word. He basically tells everyone that if they keep going down that rabbit hole, they’re getting a strike. Personally, I think that’s exactly what a mod is supposed to do: instead of just handing out bans, they try to steer the conversation back onto the rails when we all start losing our minds.
But then, a few pages later, you'll catch him getting sucked into these ridiculous debates with a guy named Ajuta—I can't recall his full handle, but briskhound2 knows exactly who I'm talking about. They’ll spend several pages just arguing for the sake of arguing, essentially measuring egos. Though, I have to admit, I haven't actually seen him ever slap Ajuta with a ban for lack of points, mostly because both of them always seem to have an endless supply of "arguments" ready to go.😬

So, don't take this as a complaint; think of it more as some constructive criticism.
Hitman: Agent 47 in Movies ·
Good grief, why does this trailer look so damn terrible 😂
The new Hitman looks completely underwhelming. It’s basically just a malnourished version of the last one. At this rate, I won't even be able to afford a down payment on a house. And wait, is Sylar actually playing the protagonist? Don't even get me started on those special effects 🤣

I'm definitely watching this though ☕
Kidnapping Mr. Heineken (2015) in Movies ·
I’m honestly stuck on whether to call this a total disaster or just a massive letdown,
since I wasn't actually there to witness the real thing, so I can't really say if they strayed from the script or actually stuck to it.
Kidnapping Mr. Heineken (2015) in Movies ·
I am. It’s a decent enough flick. There aren't really any massive, jaw-dropping moments that are going to stick in your brain forever, but watching how they actually pulled off the reveal was pretty interesting enough
mostly 7/10
