Disability assessment process in Health ·
Kyle Reed30 said:Why?? And what’s the fallout??
Does that mean they make you go through two separate evaluations or what?

In my experience, an evaluator at the Department of Social Services just did a quick check on me (like my gait and arm movement) and went over the paperwork I turned in.

Back when I was dealing with Social Security Administration a few years ago, they made me hunt down a mountain of records from every single doctor I'd ever seen, no matter how minor. I was basically running from one clinic to the next.

So yeah, it’s technically two different assessments, but the one through Social Security was way more intense.

What do you mean by that? Sorry, I didn't quite catch your drift.
If you don't mind me asking, what percentage of disability did you receive?

The CZSS doesn't just automatically accept whatever results came out of an evaluation done through the Social Security Administration.

It's 100%, since I have a combined disability (left side motor skills, residual orthopedic deformities, and low vision in my right eye).

They called me in for my disability assessment to meet with an evaluator at the medical center, who basically just looked over everything alongside the medical records I handed them. I guess if they aren't doing in-person visits because of COVID, they'll probably just stick to reviewing the paperwork. They actually have this whole Expert Witness Methodology Regulation they follow when they're calculating your disability percentage.

The real headache in America is that there isn't one single, streamlined way to handle disability claims—Social Security Administration does things their own way, and they had me jumping through a million hoops with all these different evaluations. Eventually, I got the official ruling on my percentage, which meant I could try to get some hiring preferences, use my one-time credit for a lifetime bus pass, get free supplemental insurance, and stuff like that.

But honestly, the Department of Social Services just does whatever they want.

It's pathetic how people try to protest just by staying home on election day.

Though, you really have to wonder who is even worth voting for half the time.
I still haven't gotten over how much that coalition let everyone down back in the day, especially with the total incompetence shown by guys like Joe Lieberman and Bill Clinton.

People don't just forget when they've been played, right?

You can always vote as a way to mock the system, I suppose. There's usually some protest party or fringe candidate on the ballot eventually. I’ve actually pulled the lever for the Leftist movement a few times just for that reason, plus I'm pretty much on board with their economic platform.

The Left seems to be pinning all its hopes on this new group, Možemo!, lately. For the next round, we probably need to remind everyone that the Republican Party is basically just a bunch of crooks.
Steven Allen66 said:It honestly makes me a little sad seeing how much Japan and Switzerland have become staples at the World Cup lately—it feels like they’re always there, while iconic teams like Portugal, who were regulars through the 1994 World Cup era, just aren't showing up anymore.

It all stems from the same thing, really—declining standards and a general loss of interest in sports following the collapse of the old system, back when athletes actually received decent salaries and real respect. Romania used to be a powerhouse in handball, Bulgaria was huge in volleyball, and don't even get me started on track and field or gymnastics.

Nowadays, it seems like the winning formula for a national team is just sheer economic power, bringing in naturalized players, or having a massive diaspora to draw from. These two countries don't have any of those advantages—they haven't sent anyone to the big stage since 2005, whereas they used to churn out talent like it was nothing.

I mean, you can't really compare Japan to Switzerland. In Japan, it’s incredibly tough to make the cut if you aren't part of the bloodline. For example, France just sucks up all this talent from Africa, even though those guys weren't even born in France.

I mean, China will probably be more than happy to back anyone giving Turkey trouble, mostly because if they don't, Erdogan might actually start making noise about the Uyghur situation.

When an Italian starts talking in circles just to avoid giving a straight answer, you know you're in for a long night.

I mean, maybe let the Sultan eat some pork if he ever decides to visit a European Union member state. We'll see how he likes that reaction.

Brenda Murphy3 said:But seriously... why would he walk away from the party with his own people if he's leading the Republican Party? 😁

Well, if that crazy scenario actually plays out—he’d just take his seats with him and jump straight into a coalition with Zoran Bernardić... leaving everyone else free to go find a new party.

Though, honestly, that sounds like science fiction. If Plenković goes off on some wild tangent into a massive coalition, 99% of the Republicans would follow him without a single second of hesitation.

Yeah, but if that goes down right after the elections, those other guys would end up stripping the Republican Party of a ton of seats. That's kind of the catch, maybe.

Here’s one way this post-election mess could play out:

The Republican Party might end up needing some niche group to actually form a government, so those guys decide Andrej Plenković just needs to pack his bags and leave. Then, maybe out of pure spite, Sunce forms some centrist bloc, gathers all their pro-EU buddies, and leaves the Republicans short on seats—to the point where even teaming up with Bridge wouldn't fix the math.

Or, if we're looking at total chaos: Sunce starts wooing doctors by promising to back Restart with their own defectors.

Aaron Gray said:Not necessarily. For every seat the Republican Party gets over 50, Mike Pence could get fewer than 20. As long as those groups total around 70...

A few minority seats + Joe Manchin + the Democratic Party + one or two traitors, and there you go.

I doubt Joe Manchin and the Democratic Party will make the cut, but unfortunately, those minority votes are pretty easy to buy off.

Now, I wonder how many seniors are actually going to show up acting like the Republican Party's personal voting machine just because of some "civic duty" pressure? Personally, I think the Republican Party might fall below 50 seats if this whole mess with the infection rates keeps up like it is.

If they've actually written off the centrist coalition, then I guess the challenger would need to snag at least 20 seats just to give the Republican Party a fighting chance at staying in power.
Age:29, M

Before my first trip to the gastroenterologist, my GP suggested I get a full blood panel done just to speed things up.

I went in because of some bloating, occasional heartburn, weird gurgling sounds in my throat, and this frustratingly low weight that won't budge (it took me two months of staying home just to put on 2 lbs).

The bloodwork showed a few things were slightly off.

Relative neutrophil percentage 38.8 % (ref. 44- 72)
Relative lymphocyte percentage 51.4% (ref. 20- 46)

Basophils 0.10 (ref. 0.00- 0.06)
Lymphocytes 3.80 (1.19- 3.35)

I guess there's a chance this could just be linked to an autoimmune issue, since I deal with psoriasis? My gastroenterologist also ordered a Celiac test.

I don't really deal with typical respiratory infections, though I do have quite a bit of acne along with the psoriasis.

Robin Jones2 said:It appears the nation's economic and financial landscape is significantly more dire than we are being led to believe.

Andrej Plenković is playing an all-or-nothing game, either hoping the Republican Party can secure a majority to form The Cabinet on its own, or perhaps praying they lose the election entirely, leaving someone else to deal with the inevitable fallout.

He’s kind of making a cowardly move here, I guess, mostly because his cushy job in Washington, D.C. isn't at risk. He probably doesn't even care if the Republican Party wins or loses—maybe he’d actually prefer they don't form a government at all. That way, the opposition gets stuck cleaning up the wreckage of the tourism industry and the entire economy, while he just sits pretty and collects his paycheck from the European Union.
Man, I guess Ukraine isn't quite dead yet, especially since their anthem says so. They managed to flip the script and turn the game around. I suppose they pulled off a solid comeback.
The guy in charge needs to back off the pedal a bit. I guess Korea played a part in that too. It honestly surprised me seeing Suprjaha out there instead of Sikan, but hey, he managed to find his way through the chaos and score.
So, does high memory usage actually mean anything?

Maybe you could check your graphics card temperatures using HWMonitor? Once you install the program, just grab a screenshot so we can see what those temps are looking like.

I've got Speccy running, and it's showing 34 degrees. That's about the same load as when the system crashed. Does HW actually give more info than Speccy?

It looks like a third-party driver is the culprit here. You might want to hunt down an update for this one: atikmdag.sys (ATI Radeon Kernel Mode Driver, Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.).
Google query: atikmdag.sys Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
