Maybe walk me through that logic, or are you just venting because Alonso is actually consistent and the only driver putting points on the board every single race?
If Kimi hadn't made his comeback to Formula 1, I’d be pulling for Alonso too, so this isn't some jealousy thing... it's just that Ferrari is mediocre. We only think they're good because Alonso is dragging them along. A 40-point gap isn't nothing, but with a car this bad, it's not exactly a mountain either...
Kimi’s the king, even if he isn't exactly thrilled with second place... He's sitting just 8 points shy of moving up in the standings, and honestly, looking at the car Alonso is driving, I don't see him having any prayer at the title... Kimi actually has a real shot at winning it all

Just two Red Bull cars, two McLarens, Alonso, and moooožda Kimijev Lotus. That’s really it. No Sauber, no Maldonado, no Schumacher, no Rosberg.....
Forget "maybe"... this is basically a Lotus race unless we get hit by a literal monsoon tomorrow and Sunday.😛>
Kimi keeps climbing one spot in the standings after every race... if they could just nail qualifying once in a while, he'd be breathing down Fernando Alonso's neck. But now we've got the races in Canada and Belgium coming up... Kimi needs to snag at least 40 points there. Alonso's probably feeling the pressure by now. The guy is a total master
Just some random trivia regarding fastest lap counts... 1. Kimi and Sebastian Vettel both have 2 2. Nico Rosberg, Romain Grosjean, Sergio Perez, Kobe Bryant, and Jenson Button all sit at 1
1. Lotus has 3 2. Red Bull Racing and Sauber have 2 3. Mercedes-Benz and McLaren have 1
Lotus is getting close... I can practically smell a win in the air. Their strategy is a total disaster though. If Kimi had pitted when Sebastian Vettel did, he’d be standing on that podium right now. Honestly, their pit calls have cost him at least 20 or 25 points by this point...
Looks like Lotus might actually hold their own in these conditions... if Groton hadn't spun out, and assuming Kimi's KERS is actually working properly, they'll probably land a solid 3rd or 4th again.
