Look, neither you nor I are experts here, so saying AMD isn't any good just doesn't fly. A similar percentage of NVIDIA cards run into issues too. You just happened to pick up a dud, and that's that. AMD is a solid company.
If you're planning on upgrading to a higher resolution monitor, definitely go for the 8GB version; otherwise, if you're sticking with 1080p, 4GB should be plenty enough.
If you have the time and actually enjoy building things yourself, I'd say go for these parts at that price point—assuming you aren't planning on overclocking the processor.
You won't run into any issues with YouTube or those games you mentioned. The Intel Core 2 Duo is actually four times more powerful than an Intel Celeron. Just pop in an Nvidia GeForce 610 and everything will run smoothly for you.
Robert Rodriguez2 said:In what way is that better? You basically put together the exact same setup as crimsonstag84 and me; you just swapped out the motherboard, case, and power supply. What a combo. And besides, it was mentioned that we don't need storage drives, yet yours ended up being more expensive than both of ours...
You're going to have to get into an argument with that mountain man if you want to win this one.😵
Back when the 14nm chips first launched, picking up an R9 380X wasn't a smart move since the Radeon RX 470 was about 25% better across the board. Just hang tight for a bit; the Radeon RX 470 should be hitting shelves here in the States in just a few days...
I've been trying to sell this build for a while now without much luck, though people seem interested in buying individual parts. I was wondering if anyone could give me a fair estimate on what I should ask for each component. Thanks in advance.
Depending on the remaining warranties for the components, you're looking at about $300-$$1067, but you'll likely walk away with more if you sell everything off separately.
