Something about the smell in Health ·
Are you actually serious right now?? 😲
Something about the smell in Health ·
Besides all that, ☕ could there be anything else?
I’ve dealt with this nauseating smell of meat before when I wasn't even pregnant. Plus, my family was swapping out the kitchen gear lately, leaving groceries sitting out, and my aunt sometimes messes up a recipe so badly it tastes revolting—but since she barely eats, I can't really tell if it's her cooking or not. Right now, the entire living room reeks of something spoiled. It's gross.
I'll have to make sure my husband goes grab some food as soon as he gets back.
Can a weird sense of smell also be psychological in nature?

Oh, please. It was here just this month... but 😲
No way...
Good grief!!
You think... 😱
Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaaaaaaa
Which week does the new flavor lineup actually launch?? 😲

Everything I've eaten all day has had this bizarre odor. First, it was some deli meat I thought had been sitting in the fridge for a while, and it smelled like a chemical cocktail of additives. Then, my standard pea and carrot stew smelled like someone had dropped a rotten egg right into the pot. I could barely finish a single bowl. I’m starving, but everything just smells... off. I have no idea what's going on. I even asked my roommate if she noticed anything weird with the deli meat, and she said it smelled fine to her. 🤷
The only thing that doesn't smell strange is these store-bought wafer cookies. It’s awful.
I've heard that smoking cigarettes or having a common cold can alter your sense of taste, but could it really be intense enough to make everything smell this bad 😲???

Keep your head up; trust me, there are much worse things to deal with.

That is one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard, and it couldn't be more true.

Here’s what I’m thinking—looking at the HD feed, there's definitely more to this than meets the eye. It feels like a lot to take in alone, so maybe the rest of the group should weigh in and fill in the gaps.

The breakbeat era. It’s hard to believe how much that period defined the landscape we’re standing in today. Everything felt raw, unpolished, and incredibly high-stakes. You could practically feel the energy shifting under your feet as the rhythms evolved from simple loops into something far more complex and driving. It wasn't just music; it was a complete sonic overhaul.
Dom and Roland.
Calibre.
Goldie

I'll write more when I can remember.

Once I have some downtime, I’ll sit down, listen through everything mentioned here, and put together a definitive ranking. Naturally, I'm adding Pendulum to that list as well. We'll see how they stack up! 😁

Your girlfriend shouldn't be your entire reason for living. That’s exactly why she left you. You need to find more purpose in life than just one person.

Funny, nobody even brought up Prodigy. It’s always the same story—if someone produces a similar sound, everyone immediately starts screaming "copycat." To me, Prodigy just sounds harder, more unhinged. These guys in Pendulum feel more like they’re riding a massive swell at Huntington Beach. I don't know, maybe it's just me.
It’s the same logic as comparing Godsmack to Alice in Chains. They aren't even in the same ballpark. Layne Staley had that voice that hits you right in the chest, whereas Sully sings like he’s trying to get a crowd hyped enough to smash their kitchen plates in a rage.
Pendulum in Music ·
Exactly. Every other band out there plays strictly for their own artistic integrity. They wouldn't touch a commercial gig for all the money in the world. Everyone in the group is a pure artist at heart—total sensitive souls. 🙄

Look, boldjackal10, it doesn't matter. I'm perfectly happy enjoying some drum & bass without needing your links.

In silico is a fantastic album. I've had it on repeat for two days straight.😍

hm. boldjackal10, give us the actual drum pattern, please.

These guys are incredible! It’s been a long time since I’ve listened to anything that hits this close to home.😁

Here is what the critics are saying about them:
''Pendulum definitely stands a chance here; in silico is powerful, exciting, and incredibly danceable. Their genre blending is bold, modern, and interesting, even if they owe quite a bit to the electro-rock school and The Prodigy.'' (S.M., Rolling Stone)

“in silico” is the second album from the heavy-hitting drum'n'bass group Pendulum. Famous for their driving rhythms and menacing basslines, this follow-up to their debut (“Hold Your Colour”) is much more daring in its fusion of styles—ranging from rock to electronica—resulting in a melodic and thrilling listen. The album features the single “Propan Nightmares.”

To get started, give these three tracks a spin; you won't regret it.👍

I've had enough! in Psychology ·
Honestly, it's all in your head.
There are people all over the world dealing with much darker realities, so there's really no reason to whine about this.
Why is everyone getting sick lately? in Health ·
If you spend every single day telling yourself you're an absolute wreck, what kind of person do you honestly think you'll become in twenty years? You certainly won't end up being someone confident and genuinely happy. 🙄

You should definitely check out Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter ... and Spring by the same director... 👍

p.s.
The movie is actually South Korean (not Japanese!), but it doesn't really matter... 😉

Well, a friend from Skype told me it was Japanese. I wasn't paying close attention; I just watched the film. It wasn't until a few moments later, once all my impressions had surfaced, that I went on a frantic web search to see if there was more to read—that's when I realized it was actually Korean. And then I realized I'd just gone and written on the forum that it was Japanese. Oops. 😂
The director would kill me if they found out.
I can't stand how my roommate will tell me I'm a good person one minute, but the second we have a disagreement, that's it—she wants absolutely nothing to do with me. She won't even give me a nod in the hallway. I've honestly come to realize she’s just a very difficult person to deal with.
It really irritates me when people are completely incapable of taking constructive criticism.

A stunning film. Honestly, one of the best things I've watched in quite a while. Kudos to the filmmakers. It’s actually left me feeling pretty curious about Japanese cinema now.
People who are just plain difficult in Psychology ·
I’ve been sharing a room with my roommate for a few months now, and honestly, it’s miserable. I can't tell if there's something wrong with me or if she's just being difficult, but her attitude toward me is absolutely draining. I try to initiate even the simplest conversation—just asking a quick question or making small talk—and yesterday she actually snapped at me, saying, "Don't ask me anything. Your questions feel cold." I was just like, puff 😲 so I asked her if she'd rather we didn't speak at all. She said yes, gave me this incredibly condescending look, and went right back to reading her book.
It's starting to drive me insane; I'm at my wits' end and don't know what to do anymore.
The Plaza Hotel in Movies ·
Watching how the light hits her face, I’d say we’re looking at a gray October day. It immediately brings back those perfectly cozy, chilly afternoons. I’ve always felt that the cold is actually the best setting for connection and romance; this movie really leaned into that feeling. It reminded me of my partner, specifically when he told me about this incredible film we just had to watch together. The soundtrack is incredibly soothing and romantic, and there’s something so intimate about those tiny, modest rooms we get a glimpse of. Sometimes I think I’d rather live a stripped-back life—someone at the bottom of the social ladder, perhaps—if it meant a life overflowing with genuine emotion and magic, rather than being some bored billionaire who can never tell if their friends are actually loyal or just after the bank account.
I have a deep appreciation for art, and this film is a work of art in every sense of the word (aside from the clunky dialogue from some of the side characters, though you can only blame the screenwriter for that)
The Plaza Hotel in Movies ·
I’m curious to hear from anyone else who’s seen it. I just caught a review claiming the movie is exhausting. And honestly? They aren't wrong.
It’s all about the atmosphere!
There’s just something about it.
The score definitely does a lot of the heavy lifting here.
What makes it feel magical? I think if you have even a slight capacity for abstract thought, you can dive right into the headspace and emotions of the leads—Eloise and Tom Cruise. Don't you agree?
To be fair, the plot is pretty thin and the acting is mediocre, but everything else is sublime. As for what "everything else" entails... I'll let you all decide.
