Man... I didn't even realize she had spiraled that far.
Without that show, I wouldn't even know what she looked like.

It’s a shame we don’t have the Anna Nicole Smith Show airing here in the States yet...
You really need to see what she’s actually like.
😲

At least it looks like she’s finally starting to drop some weight.

Genetics vs. Spirituality: Can they coexist? in Spirituality ·
Anthony Bailey said:The point being made is that genetic differences likely impact psychology indirectly by shaping the child's effective environment during development.

Right. I remember seeing an article in Life magazine—back when they were still publishing regularly—about how genes influence human traits...

Hmm.
🤔But then you look at biology and these studies, and they suggest we don't even really have free will (not that the Bible mentions it that way, but still)... It implies everything is basically predetermined. Like we don't actually have much control at all. We're just stuck living out whatever our genes dictate instead of acting on any actual free will.
Mistake in Godzilla?! in Movies ·
casualotter21 said:I mean, for God's sake, given his size, Godzilla is moving through Manhattan with the grace of a freaking ballerina! Sure, he scrapes a building with his tail here and there, but give me a break! That’s nothing you couldn't fix with some duct tape and a little noise!

That was the one mistake that actually caught my eye.
And I wasn't even expecting much from this movie, so I wasn't paying much attention to other details...

Just like I said on TV—
there are scenes where the main characters are out on the streets of New York City, driving around in a car... and there isn't a single trace or footprint left by Godzilla on the street.
Even though they show him as being absolutely massive at the start of the film.
They didn't leave them out just because "it wouldn't be a movie" if the heroes couldn't drive through the streets of New York City.

Icepick said:And what kind of idiot decides to set the whole thing in New York City? I mean, NEW YORK CITY, out of all the places on Earth. As if there aren't enough massive cities on the West Coast...🙄 No, seriously. Godzilla swam across the entire American continent, deep under Hell, because obviously, if she tried going through the Panama Canal, someone would have spotted her (or would they 😉), and then she just pops up in New York City... what was her plan, catch a Broadway musical???

haha
😂 👍
If I were her, I'd 😁

But hey,
maybe the director just lacks a sixth sense...
Independence Day has similar scenes to Deep Impact--
All those movies flashed through my mind while watching CNN on September 11th.
Viktor Frankl's take on the meaning of life in Philosophy ·
Sophia Williams said:Man's Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl
Ever heard of that scrappy little guy who survived the concentration camps and spent his whole life fighting suicide?

Yeah...
I read that book while I was serving in the military..

From what I recall, 🤔 the core message is that a person can influence their inner world regardless of their external circumstances—it sounds great on paper, but in reality, it’s not entirely doable.

Anyway,
I was actually shocked by how much the military resembles what he described in those camps.
😲

(Obviously, not exactly the same 😳 )

Scarface was a bit of a drag for me ---
but man, that ending really hits home
Dreamcatcher in Movies ·
nimblemarlin17 said:The movie kicks off with a killer premise and holds steady through the middle, but man, that ending is an absolute train wreck. It pivots from this biting, mysterious horror straight into some mindless alien nonsense.

Unfortunately, it's the truth...
The atmosphere at the start is incredible...
but as it drags toward the finish, it just gets pathetic.
Wonder Woman Attack! in Movies ·
casualotter21 said:"So, a guy's cheating on Daryl Hannah, right? Then suddenly—BAM—a magic beam from space hits her, she grows to giant proportions, and goes on a rampage to get her revenge. YEAH! Talk about subtle metaphor."

Look, even if the plot is ridiculous, I’d still probably sit down and watch that mess.

If I remember correctly, it wasn't just the husband,
her father was also giving her trouble. 😳

I think I actually have a copy of that movie somewhere.

Anyone else think this was one of the absolute worst movies of the nineties?
This could be the next Ed Wood! LMAO!

Actually, no...
I actually liked it.
The original black and white version was pure trash, sure,
but this new one isn't...

I also feel like the movie serves as a metaphor for a woman—or just a person, really—standing on their own two feet and fighting back against people trying to suppress them, blah blah blah...

Daryl Hannah is a decent actress, 🙂
and she was great in this one.
Bruce Almighty in Movies ·
Alyssa said:I actually loved the movie. It had me laughing my head off. Plus, there were plenty of great jokes thrown in everywhere.👍

But on the Netflix version, they included Deleted Scenes--
which means unfortunately most people are missing out on the scene that should have opened the whole thing -
where Jim does this dough parody of "Close Encounters of the Third Kind"
😁 😁
he literally shaped a massive mountain to look just like the one from that movie.

They also cut the part where he jumps right out of a plane onto Bigfoot.

"Hands down, the worst actress out there!"

...plus she’s got a big butt.
😁 😁

(Or so they claim. I haven't bothered to check.)

Stuart Little and Stuart Little 2 in Movies ·
Both movies are great, seriously.
From what I can tell, the movie was based on a book.
For those who aren't in the loop, it’s about a talking mouse living with a family in New York City.---

The first one came out in 1999.
I didn't actually catch it until the holidays on CBS.
I'd heard of it, but I didn't pay much attention because I assumed it was just some mindless stuff for toddlers under five...

Man, was I wrong.

That mouse is sooo cute!!!

The animation is top-notch—especially when he gets scared or starts laughing. It's just too precious.🙂 🙂

There's plenty of adventure, too. Most scenes in the first movie take place on the water, while the sequel moves things into the air...
I'd recommend this to everyone. It's got such a positive, warm vibe.
Sure, it's a kid's movie, but honestly, adults will enjoy it too because it's genuinely funny and entertaining.

One more thing that caught my interest—
is the actual voice acting/dubbing itself.
In the original version, Michael J. Fox provided the voice for Stuart.

I watched the second one on DVD, and seeing how they dubbed the whole thing was pretty interesting. It was actually the first foreign film I saw where they did a full dub instead of just using subtitles, like you see on standard American TV.

Also, in the Italian version, the mouse's voice is adorable—it's incredible how perfectly they matched the voice to Stuart's character.

In the American version, I think the voice for the cat, Bell, is the absolute best part.

Hey
If he didn't get that done for you,
I did. Let me know if it’s missing..

And haha,
No.. I haven't heard that one about Pink Floyd..
Sounds interesting..

I know English has its own weird quirks where if you play things backward,
you can pick up all these hidden messages and words..

But this idea about an album matching up with a movie? Heh, that sounds pretty cool too.

If there are any lifeforms out there, we could no more make peace with them than we could befriend a jellyfish. Their communication would be through a series of intricately-shaped clouds of flesh-burning enzymes, their idea of a "hug" would reduce a human body to a spray of wet hamburger. Not that we would ever get that far; their mere appearance would be so horrific to us that we would immediately be driven into the primal, murderous dementia that is the foundation of all human personality.

Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith in Movies ·
Gary Anderson38 said:Why on earth would we even detect a space war? It’s pointless. Our tech is way too primitive for that kind of thing anyway. A conflict like that could be happening millions of light-years away, and we wouldn't register a thing simply because of the distance. By the time those signals actually hit Earth, thousands of years will have passed.

Look, SETI has already scanned a massive chunk of territory—and they did it thoroughly..
And a war? A real war isn't quiet or hidden..

Conflict is inevitable... it's just a matter of how they play it out in the future, because
advancing technology is going to (only) destroy the ones who are truly aggressive and completely out of control.
Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith in Movies ·
Gary Anderson38 said:But why dismiss the possibility right away that there could be a highly advanced yet aggressive race out there in space?
The fact they haven't wiped themselves out doesn't prove anything.

Still... I just don't see how it's realistic to expect advanced, malicious races to possess technological capabilities like we see in Star Trek : Nemesis

And here is why:

- There’s a universal rule of karma in the cosmos—if you put bad energy out there, it comes back to hit you. Advanced civilizations and higher minds understand this better than anyone.

- Evolution naturally trends toward balance. Entities that constantly dive into wars and conflicts have to burn massive amounts of energy and resources on fighting instead of actual progress...
Which means those kinds of wars would have been detected right here on Earth by now.
Plus, the very concept of war is rooted in a hunger for power and dominance... which is ultimately self-limiting. A race stuck in that loop wouldn't have the intellectual depth or the drive necessary to master interstellar travel.
