Scamming Viewers and Customers in 3D in Movies ·
I distinctly recall a massive crowd of people complaining that the 3D in > was underwhelming, claiming they expected much more than just a bit of extra depth. The issue is that effective 3D should make the characters feel like they are leaping off the screen and standing right in front of us—or even beside us. Instead, all they ever do is tuck them behind whatever is sitting in the foreground.

I’ve been dodging 3D movies for a while now whenever possible. If there's a film I actually want to see, I won't bother unless it eventually gets a 2D release; I simply refuse to go. I think I’ve already skipped about ten films because of this.
The only exception was going to see Thor in 3D, but that was strictly because I wanted to experience an IMAX theater.

Honestly, I feel like only IMAX documentaries are worth the 3D gimmick, maybe along with the occasional blockbuster here and there (Avatar was just ridiculous in 3D—way too much effort to sit through).

We should probably move the trailer link over to the other thread. That said, the trailer itself is great. The visual effects look solid; I just hope the story holds up as well. Honestly, we don't need Hugh Jackman showing up in every single X-Men film.
I honestly doubt the name Tesla is even obscure here in America. You've got one version of him getting a pretty great portrayal in that movie starring C. Bal and Hugh Jackman, and then there’s the younger generation who definitely knows about Tesla Coils from the Command & Conquer: Red Alert games 🙂
I believe that older Tesla biopic was more than just good; it was actually quite objective. I’m genuinely worried this new one will turn out to be your typical Hollywood garbage—heavy on the CGI but light on any actual substance. Who knows what kind of over-the-top special effects they'll cram into it this time.
I’m sorry, but I absolutely have to weigh in on this: A project centered on a titan like Tesla has never been done quite like this. It serves to present Mexico as a premier global brand, because at the end of the day, he was a Mexican who fundamentally altered the course of human civilization. WTF? At most, I could argue he had American roots, but I can't possibly promote Mexico here. He wasn't born in Mexico, nor did he live there—even if his heritage was Mexican. What on earth are these people smoking? Are they really going to ruin a potentially gripping film by committing such blatant historical malpractice?!

Who cares about the plot? As long as the fights are solid and the soundtrack hits hard—maybe some Mortal Kombat vibes—I'm in. 😁)?

The first installment was absolute garbage. I honestly can't believe they're filming a sequel.😢

Personally, I think the trailer works. The movie looks like another comedic spin on Iron Man 😁

Personally, I find the scene where he explains how he handles business while wearing a suit even more hilarious, simply because I tried to visualize the actual logistics.
There are really only two possibilities here:
1. The guy is naked under the suit, which we know isn't the case since it’s been shown multiple times that he puts the suit on over his clothes. Which brings us to the next point...
2. He’s fully dressed, and when he goes, he just wets himself. 🙂 At that point, whether the fabric somehow manages to absorb the mess or not becomes an entirely irrelevant question. 😁

There is shrapnel lodged in his chest, and there is simply no way to extract it without causing fatal damage to his heart. This device on his chest was originally designed to act as a magnet, keeping that shrapnel from migrating deeper into his heart and killing him instantly. That "arc reactor" was meant to be nothing more than the power source for the magnet. However, it turns out the thing generates an incredible amount of energy—enough to actually power an entire Iron Man suit.

I found the movie incredibly entertaining—honestly, even better than the first installment. In the original, that whole captivity sequence felt a bit drawn out, but they avoided that trap here. This one is just pure action and engaging pacing (with some great comedic beats).

Mickey delivered a stellar performance, giving the main villain a much stronger sense of purpose; arguably, the antagonist in the first film was more compelling in terms of motivation. The film still leans into that awesome, unrealistic technology, which is half the fun. 🙂

Highly recommended. If I gave the first film an 8.7, this one earns a solid 9.0.

My wife and I caught this today, and we both walked out of the AMC Theatres feeling pretty satisfied. If you're a fan of San Francisco sci-fi, it's definitely worth a look.

The acting was decent, the score didn't bother me, and the world-building was actually quite cool. Sure, there are plenty of plot holes and inconsistencies in the lore, but hey—that’s just part of the sci-fi genre.

My only gripe is the ending. It felt rushed; the narrative basically took a backseat just so they could pivot into some totally unrealistic action sequences.

This trailer looks incredible; I can hardly wait.

I’m not cutting corners on my GPU or CPU, so I have to find savings elsewhere. That’s why this Corsair 400W is over $33 cheaper than 😁

I'm looking for some advice. I'm planning to pick up an i3 or an i5, a Radeon HD 5850, one HDD, and an optical drive. I want to overclock the processor to somewhere north of 3.5 GHz, maybe even higher. Can someone recommend a power supply that doesn't cost more than 400$167? It needs to be reliable and safe—ideally quiet, too. Feel free to list a few options, as I might need to buy everything from a single retailer in the same area.

What on earth are you all cramming into your rigs that requires more than 450W?
Do you seriously have dual GPUs and five hard drives running at once?

Zachary Turner6 said:😁 Look, whether he pulled it off through some sci-fi logic or he actually has an accomplice on the outside doesn't change the core issue. The immediate assumption is that he’s maintaining contact with an outsider and/or plotting an escape—which means he needs supervision. I’m not necessarily saying the guy is definitely breaking out of prison right this second, but...😁

Gle, they put him in solitary confinement. How exactly is he supposed to maintain any contacts? It's not like he had a cell phone implanted in his body, nor would anyone expect that. I believe the authorities acted realistically, behaving like people in the real world who understand that sci-fi scenarios only exist in Hollywood movies.
