Honestly, it was more of a funny teen drama than an actual martial arts flick. The whole point isn't even about the fighting—it’s really just about that kid growing up. —And man, that Macchiato guy? Total disaster. He was born in '61!!! In the first movie, he was already 23!! It looks so incredibly outdated.

nimblemarlin17 said:The movie’s good, but they made Mr. Bean way too soft for this one. Same thing happened with the first movie. In the show, he’s clumsy and hilarious, sure, but he’s also incredibly selfish and kind of a jerk. Here, he’s just too likable. Still, it’s worth watching.

I totally agree. It’s missing those moments where he loses his cool or when people actually start getting on his nerves. That streak of being a bit of a troublemaker should be just as much a core part of him as his clumsiness is.

By the way, the pacing feels a bit off—there's a lot of dead air. While the TV show can be absolutely hysterical (most of the time, anyway), this movie version just doesn't hit quite as hard on the comedy front.

Well, if it's an MP3 or something, could you maybe shoot it over to me online? I mean, I'd really love to grab that soundtrack—especially that main track.

cosmicfalcon12 said:I actually caught that movie a couple days ago and man, it’s solid. It’s got this really chill vibe—not one of those movies where they just dump a bunch of cheesy, over-the-top romantic stuff on you every five minutes, you know? Just a really good story. I ended up grabbing the rip online yesterday, though I didn't have subtitles... honestly, I think I accidentally grabbed the entire soundtrack instead!🙂

Wait, you got the whole soundtrack?! That is awesome! 👍

So, did anyone else catch this flick? Honestly, I’m kind of obsessed with that "Pop! goes my heart" track—the whole vibe of the music video is just top-tier—but the movie itself is actually pretty sweet too. It’s your classic, feel-good rom-com with some genuinely funny bits thrown in. Total crowd-pleaser, right? 🙂
Movies playing in the background in Movies ·
I don't know, it feels kind of pointless to me to have a movie running in the background—unless, you know, I’ve already seen it like a dozen times before. I can definitely vibe to some music (which is pretty much what I’m doing most of the time anyway), but actually watching a film while doing something else... yeah, that just doesn't work for me.
Jean-Claude Van Damme in America! in Movies ·
Alright, look, maybe I’m just getting the wrong vibe from the news lately—you know, how they keep spinning this narrative that they’re basically brothers, and how everyone thinks Krokap is absolutely head over heels for Vandal... and especially how that idiot Krokap is obsessed with him. But let's be real: Vandal is a total fraud. Nobody even gives him the time of day anymore, so he’s just circling back to this scene because he’s desperate for any kind of spotlight. Honestly, if I didn't have some level of respect for him (which, let's be honest, isn't exactly a lot), I wouldn't even consider inviting him over. In fact, I'd probably just tell him to stay far away! 🙂

nimblemarlin17 said:Didn't Cro Cop say a long time ago that Jean-Claude Van Damme was a total fraud and had zero actual fighting skills?

Man, if he actually said that, then we're looking at some massive hypocrisy right there!

Good grief, this is going to be such a total train wreck...😲 I mean, the original Lionheart was actually one of the better Van Damme flicks out there, you know?

Calling it a "spectacle" is just a fancy way of saying it's a guaranteed Golden Raspberry winner! 👎

Honestly, when you're dealing with movies like this, even leaving comments feels kind of pointless. It’s just pure commercial fluff—and yeah, I know, I can already hear everyone yelling, "What isn't commercial nowadays?" 🙄. But look, with the latest Batman, for instance, you can actually feel a director's specific vision—that clear ambition to push the envelope and elevate the whole thing to a higher level. Even with Ang Lee's Hulk, there was this obvious attempt to step away from the usual comic book formula. This? This feels totally routine, like a product made just to be used once and then tossed aside. You can see it right in the casting—Nicolas Cage is a complete miss here, even if he’s a huge box office draw. It’s basically a "safe bet" move, which is exactly why he was picked for this, and honestly, the thought of him being involved in the new Superman... it actually makes me nauseous 🤮.

Well, fine then. 🙂 You want to go toe-to-toe with me? 😛

Let's find something actually worth watching instead of all that mindless garbage.
All four of them just rub me the wrong way—especially Angelina Jolie, who I can't stand—and that little Katie girl looks like some kind of lost, pathetic puppy with that expression on her face. Then you've got Tom Cruise looking like a total degenerate, and Brad Pitt? Man, he looks like a yellowed chimpanzee.

I’d say Lionheart is probably one of his better flicks—it actually holds up okay. Same goes for Nowhere to Run... though, let's be real, that one is way more trash than it has any right to be. It's just how it goes, I guess. The guy had a decent run of popularity for a minute there, but everyone pretty much knew he wasn't going to stick around forever. Honestly, Van never really had that magnetic charisma, you know? He wasn't exactly unique or anything—he was mostly just known for those weirdly graceful, almost balletic movements during fights. But hey, what goes up must come down. That's just life. Di end!

So, I actually started another thread a little while back about an amateur film project I'm putting together—basically looking for some folks who might want to help bring this vision to life. If there are any kindred spirits out there in the Washington, D.C. area or just anywhere nearby who are feeling inspired, please reach out! My main focus is on directing, but honestly, if you're an actor, a cinematographer, a screenwriter... or even if you just have a knack for something specific, let me know!
