Exactly. If we just "gut" the cost now, it’ll end up being a cheap lesson for us.

Because of that, I scored a seat in a killer spot for only $20. If I wanted to sit way up in the nosebleeds looking at ants, it would’ve been way cheaper.

Exactly. If you've got the patience and you're betting that tickets will still be available, you can save a serious amount of money.

During the Ajax game, I snagged a decent seat for $50 when it was supposed to be $39, and for the Paris match, I actually scored a great spot for just $20.

If you’d actually taken a risk, you could’ve grabbed one for five or ten bucks right before kickoff. When the stadium isn't packed, those resellers would rather dump a ticket for peanuts than let it go to waste. I know for a fact during the World Cup Spanish-German quarterfinals, a ticket on the street in the morning was around $667 (usually $300), but right before the game started, it dropped to maybe $300-$400. Once the resellers realized they were stuck with extra stock, they just wanted out.

Yeah, Jennifer Lopez would be mine. I could probably hook you up with one of her friends if you're desperate. I'll ask her today.

Getting tickets near the stadium would be easy enough, but nothing comes cheap. 😁

The Ultras can tag along too.

Just get me a ticket and I'm in.

I don't know if anyone else is getting sucked into sci-fi or whatever else, but...

5. Minority report 4. Matrix
4. Matrix
3. Back to the Future
2. 2. Star Wars (both series)
1. Predator
So, look, I sat down a few weeks ago and watched both versions of Ocean's Eleven back-to-back. You know, the old one with Sinatra and his crew, and then the new one starring Pitt, Clooney, and the rest of them. Honestly? I liked the new one better. The original isn't bad by any means, but it feels a bit worn out to me. It doesn't really lean on the actual plot; it just relies entirely on the actors' charisma to carry it.

You pull a show like Oz off the air for three days and suddenly there’s a riot and people are burning down national networks. It’s just cheap fanaticism. You suggest your friends go for a hike in the Rockies and they act like you're insane because their favorite show is on TV. That’s just how people are now. It doesn't even have much to do with the death of the pope anymore; we've all just become electronic morons. TV, computers, social media, phones—that’s it. That's life.👎

I wouldn't say I totally agree. The issue is that they were being selective about what they pulled from the schedule. A day of mourning should be handled completely differently (and needs to be in the future). It shouldn't be tied to television programming. If there's no entertainment allowed that day, then clear everything off the air except for content related to the pope. Everything else. That would make it an actual day of mourning instead of some half-assed attempt. What did they actually achieve by pulling Oz? They just made people switch over to Fox or CBS to watch something else, or flip to ABC to watch The Matrix. Or they just switched to one of the dozens of foreign cable channels. So much for deep mourning...
Real Madrid vs. FC Barcelona in Soccer ·
FC Barcelona is absolute garbage. Honestly, it’s no shocker that Chelsea FC knocked them out. They’ve been getting steamrolled all season long. If Real Madrid actually played with any sense throughout the year, they’d be miles ahead of them. That Barcelona keeper is a joke, and even Božo is claiming Barca hasn't seen a decent goalie in ages. What a disaster... Hey, David Beckham, you there?😁 🙄

young.but.dead said:True, but honestly? I still get more of a rush watching the US national soccer team score a goal at the World Cup than I would if Janica Kostelic or Karolina Shprem won three Olympic golds in a row.

Looks like we found ourselves a new Ivica Olić fan. Welcome to the club, kid!😁 😎
The flare idea is alright, but he definitely overdid it. Even France Football wouldn't pick through that many categories. It should just be player of the month, goal of the month, and maybe some "miscellaneous" stuff.

Richard Hernandez13 said:When I say that... Irreversible I’m talking about a work of art. And I mean that in the broadest possible sense—something that exists on a level way above just some standard cinematic presentation.
Is it actually art, or does it just come down to whoever's looking at it? Honestly, I don't care what anyone says—it’s all subjective.

Then again, look at it this way. Koszjak It’s just some video of someone getting arrested. Nothing more.

Look, Irreversible shows stuff that nobody in their right mind actually wants to watch. I don't care how much you wrap it up in fancy packaging or try to make it look "artistic"—it’s just bad. Period.

I just don't get why the whole definition of a "work of art"—in this case, "Irreversible"—is so incredibly loose. It feels like if the director behind it had shot something like "Koszjak" instead, everyone would just shrug and say, "Oh, he's a legendary filmmaker, this movie is a masterpiece." This whole double standard thing isn't as crazy as people make it out to be.

Can I get a piece of that too? It's been so long since I've even bothered to jump on you that I'm actually starting to feel bad about myself. 😁>
Leonardo DiCaprio in Aviator in Movies ·
Honestly, I would’ve made the whole movie just about him building planes and filming movies. Also, I don't get how Alan Aldo walked away with the supporting actor Oscar nod instead of Baldwin, who is clearly way more present in the frame and vital to the actual story.

Even if networks like ESPN miss out on certain leagues... like the Premier League or La Liga.

What is going on today? Some kind of stupidity epidemic? You might wonder why I'm being so insulting, but honestly, what can you even say about people complaining that ESPN isn't broadcasting La Liga?😕

Ultras said:I’d probably tune out. Honestly, I can’t even watch this garbage anymore because I can't stand watching some guy lose control of the ball under his feet.🤣

BTW, it doesn't have to be a matchup like Siena vs Lecce—think Bologna vs Juventus or Inter Milan vs Fiorentina. Both teams don't necessarily have to be trash.😁

Hmm, you might find this surprising, but ESPN actually broadcasted the Bologna vs Juventus match.😲 😲 😲

P.S.: Is this a stupid thread or what? 🙄 We should start a petition for ESPN to stop broadcasting the World Cup and just show the Women's U-19 Championship instead. There are more goals there.
National Treasure: Thoughts on the movie? in Movies ·
That’s not what I meant. What I was getting at is that this whole idea of "why are there even clues leading to something that shouldn't be found?" is baked into both movies. Personally, though, I think both things ought to be discovered in the end. The old knight deserves it because he's basically gone gray from pure boredom (plus that life elixir), and honestly, it's worth finding. The writers actually nailed it here. It feels legit.

If I had to pick the most ridiculous part of the movie, it’s the fact that out of maybe forty shots fired, nobody actually hits anything. Even Bruce Willis takes a stray bullet to the backside, and he’s supposed to be a historian with "questionable field experience."

Richard Hernandez13 said:I was even more confused by why the Founding Fathers would bother making such an unbelievable, over-engineered series of riddles.
I tried to come up with a logical reason, but the only thing that actually made sense was: "Just so some idiot could eventually make a stupid movie about it." 😁

Sure, but you could make that exact same argument about the third Indiana Jones movie, which follows basically the same blueprint.
