Dealing with allergies? in Health ·
The name pretty much says it all 😁 we’re talking everything from various types of bronchitis and sinus infections to strep throat. I’m currently battling chronic bronchitis and chronic sinusitis. I’m actually on my third round of antibiotics right now, and honestly, I am just sick to death of the teas, the syrups, and the pills I’m using to try and deal with this endless mountain of mucus I have to cough up, spit out, or rinse away. It never stops. Just when I think I’m making progress and can finally relax, it all starts over again... I’m just exhausted from fighting for every breath and dealing with the pain from all this coughing...
I know nobody here can actually fix me, but I guess I just needed to vent a little 😢
Dealing with a pretty nasty cough in Health ·
Ha. I've been dealing with bronchitis for years, but this current bout is just brutal. This cough has been tearing me apart for three weeks straight now. I'm already on my third round of antibiotics, and honestly, the only thing it seems to be doing is clogging up my sinuses. Now my head is absolutely killing me too.

I've been dealing with this cough for two weeks now. It’s disgusting—just constant, thick mucus... and it isn't letting up. I tried taking some antibiotics, but I guess they didn't really do much. I have this feeling it's never going to stop.
Northern Exposure (1990-1995) in TV Series ·
🙂 Why hasn't anyone mentioned that Life in Alaska is airing on CNN?
I was watching the promo yesterday—it's Sunday at 9 PM, but honestly, I have no clue which episode it even is...
It hurts so bad! in Health ·
The pain is actually killing me 🙂
My neck, shoulders, arms... my muscles feel completely wrecked and I can barely move them.
I spent all day yesterday swimming, then washed my hair last night and went straight to bed without drying off. I was totally damp and gross when I fell asleep.
Please, I need some first aid advice 😘
I keep losing my grip—any advice? in Health ·
mistymoose57 said:Fine, I’ll be the pessimist here, but... the first sign of Parkinson is dropping things from your hands, and then it spreads to the fingers and moves on...

😱 I thought the exact same thing. It's rare, but I occasionally get these sudden twitches in my head or shoulders—just a quick jerk, totally out of my control.

At first, I thought it was just kind of funny, but after spilling coffee on myself and my surroundings a few times, and breaking a couple of glasses, I’m starting to get genuinely worried.
For about two months now, I’ve been feeling this weakness, a slight stiffness in my fingers—honestly, I can barely even feel anything, like the pads of my fingertips have gone numb. All these symptoms are pretty subtle, but the consequences are becoming obvious.😬
I’m 47, which isn't exactly old, but I definitely shouldn't be dealing with tremors at this stage of life.
It’s getting stressful at work too, because my mouse just keeps slipping out of my hand...
Does anyone have any ideas???

Yeah, fungus is a thing, and most of the time you catch it from feet...😬
My dermatologist says the worst move at the beach is using towels that have been spread out on the ground, then wrapping them around yourself, drying off, or even lying on them.
I’m thinking about having a pharmacy whip up some custom solution for me to apply—just something to use until next swimming season, mostly for the pool.
I'll find that little slip where my doctor wrote down the formula they need to mix it, and I'll post it here tomorrow...

The biggest issue with elderly patients is how doctors just brush them off. My aunt is 83, dealing with dementia, but she’s also struggling with something everyone just dismisses.
Basically, she gets these intense waves—this terrifying sensation of heat flooding her chest, her head, and her eyes. When she asks her doctor about it, she just gets a casual "I don't know," followed by some comment to the family about how "the lady just can't accept getting older."
It honestly feels like doctors think seniors should just wait around to die. It's infuriating.
I'm 47 now. About 15 years back, I was on heavy doses of corticosteroids for three years because of collagenosis.
Maybe that’s the culprit.
When I had my shoulder X-rayed, the report basically said they couldn't get a clear reading because of existing osteoporotic changes.
On top of all that, I lost my period five years ago, so maybe the hormonal imbalance is driving these issues too.

p.s. Horay, I'm actually reading that article you sent over right now.
Based on the routine checkup, my own experience, and the X-ray of my shoulder... I mean, I know it’s a small amount of data, but the thought that I might have to undergo every single test imaginable 😲
They’re telling me my calcium metabolism is off, and I don't really get what that means. Supposedly, you can't have an excess because it just gets flushed out through your stool, but if there's actually a deficiency, then what?

Voltaren: Pros and cons? in Health ·
They claim naproxen works almost exactly like Voltaren, just with fewer side effects, I guess.

I’m on antibiotics, Guaifenesin, barley tea... nothing seems to be doing a damn thing. I’m just constantly dealing with this thick, nasty mucus (and my sinuses are a total mess too).
What else should I try 😢?

Look...
Get some plain barley, just the standard kind you'd find in a bag at Whole Foods or Target (around 4-$1.75).
Lightly toast a handful of the barley in a dry pan until it hits a golden-brown color. Once that's done, pour in about a cup of water and let it boil briefly. When it cools down to a lukewarm temperature, strain it and drink the liquid. I guess you should prepare it fresh 2 or 3 times a day.
It’s guaranteed to help.

p.s. You could probably mix the barley with some yogurt or fruit and eat it that way instead.

Psoriasis [PLEASE READ FIRST POST!] in Health ·
St. John's Wort oil helps, but I guess it really has to be pure and all-natural to work. It’s extremely effective for psoriasis.
🙂
Kenneth Hernandez67, props to you. I guess it’s exhausting, but maybe every little improvement will be its own reward.
