Oh, please... that ad... sure... totally a dream job... remember? You get to stay on an island 24/7, feeding turtles and stuff...

The only thing you got wrong was the scale... someone definitely played you. In Somalia, it's crawling with sharks... it isn't exactly the paradise you're picturing in your head.

This is how it actually ended up Associated Press sourcing from DARPA

Doesn't look even remotely romantic to me. Just watch this clip: CLICK HERE

just like some Baywatch episode

🤣🤣.....you want to know why you guys specifically got picked for this? Because sharks ate every other lifeguard on the coast, and now nobody else wants the job....

I think I read somewhere about it... too much talk about the surf, the Pacific, the deep blue... and then there's the women...😂...here they are, WAITING FOR YOU....

It’s kind of like walking into some dusty DMV office and telling those clerks... look, I’m moving to some random country across the ocean in a few days—some huge continent, who knows if I'll ever set foot back here—so please, just wipe my record and stop labeling me as a New Yorker!!

And they just stare at you and say... we can't do that... you were born here, plain and simple...😁☕

You're an American for life!!! 😛
^^So, what you're saying is, it was actually her last day of her period and not the first day she had sex... well, there you go. That means pregnancy is definitely on the table. I remember going through something similar once (I think, anyway)... except I didn't bother with the morning-after pill.

shadowtinker21 said:Yeah, according to basic logic, that's how it works, but I don't trust anything for certain... take my friend, for example, she was on the pill. She was supposed to start a new pack on Sunday, but couldn't find any at the pharmacy, so she slept with her boyfriend on Sunday without protection, and then 😉, she started the pills on Monday, a day late. She didn't get her period the next month, and well—now she's a mom to a beautiful little girl. Anything is possible. It’s a tiny, tiny percentage, but once in a while, it happens to you, or me, or my friend, or some fourth 🙂
I also think I'm not pregnant, and that's exactly why I can't wait to see the results. I suspect it might be an infection (I had one once, which is why I took the pill, though I stopped because they didn't sit right with me after five years)... and I believe everything will be fine!🙂

But are you 100% certain she didn't just forget to take a pill here and there?
And if I remember correctly—I only took them for three months, so my memory isn't perfect—you're supposed to start the pills on the first day of your period... so, according to that, she should have started on Sunday, the first day of her period... right? And was she having sex during her period??😲
The first day of your period is a very, very low chance for conception... maybe the last day, but the first...? I never heard that... I think that's how my second child happened (I think, anyway, since we finished on the last day, there was still a bit of spotting)... and later he pulled out....

I mean, it's totally possible she just missed one pill along the way... I know a case like that; I had a neighbor who took them religiously and forgot just one... now she has a son..)

quietskipper18 said:I was convinced I might be pregnant, so I fell for that little myth that you can take a test even before your period is late... Naturally, I went ahead and took a test about 4 or 5 days before my expected cycle—and nothing. A total negative. And just for the record, I bought the most expensive brand at CVS to ensure accuracy.

Then, the day before my period was supposed to start, I tried again (with a cheap drugstore version this time), and still nothing... At that point, I was certain I wasn't pregnant. But then my period didn't show up, so two days after the delay, I grabbed one more test and—lo and behold—POSITIVE. Like, a HUGE positive.

I rushed straight to my OBGYN, who, predictably, couldn't actually see anything on an ultrasound yet...

My advice to the ladies? Just hang in there! Don't go throwing money away on tests too early, and please, don't rush to the doctor until you're at least 6 or 7 weeks along...

Otherwise, you'll just end up stuck in limbo—not quite here, not quite there, and totally frustrated.

Exactly... there's no point throwing money away. If it's late, just wait those few days. If it's positive, you have plenty of time to see the doctor; at least wait another 2 or 3 weeks...
They won't see anything anyway, so why deal with the hassle of waiting in line... plus, some people even pay for unnecessary exams... it's just not needed...

I didn't even go for my first appointment until I was two months along.... what's the rush? That's when they can actually do an ultrasound and see the baby....

Just a little off-topic here...
Had the strangest dream last night. Again. (I don’t even know how many times I’ve dreamed about being pregnant now...😁). I think I was somewhere in my second trimester... at an appointment. I was asking the doctor to run one of those special ultrasounds—you know, the kind where you can see everything clearly. It’s weird, though, because that doctor is actually dead now. He used to be my OBGYN, and there we were, he's performing the scan, and I’m looking at the screen seeing the baby... it was just incredible. Such a beautiful little thing. Hair, eyes, the whole deal. She was waving her tiny fingers, moving around, making little faces... and most importantly, she was a girl. I saw everything... my beautiful rapidrider3...😍
Honestly, I’m tearing up just thinking back on it...

I keep dreaming about her...
And when I was walking home in the dream, it was bizarre. I was living in this little cabin with doors so low I could barely squeeze inside... dirt floors, absolute poverty, just total misery... but it felt so vivid, so real. Maybe that was my home in some past life...
Because I’ve never seen a place like that before... (and look, I believe in reincarnation...)

Anyway, please don't judge me for going off-topic like this... I just felt like I had to get this out. Just needed to clear my head... to share it...🙏
shadowtinker21 said:My last period was July 12th, so that puts me at day 47—and I've been feeling this dull, nagging ache on my left side, so I can't help but wonder if it's just a cyst causing all this delay...😕

it's such a massive gap, because if I actually conceived, it likely happened around August 7th... and if I were pregnant, I feel like every single test would have caught it by now...

So you're saying if you got pregnant, it happened on August 7th? Honey... no way... not on that date. Not even if the baby belonged to Philip, you couldn't have conceived then. It's too late. By now, your body should already be gearing up for your next cycle...

Basically... it's not... but something is definitely going on...🤷

Chloe Morgan6—I read what you wrote... sure, you guys are young (not that I'm trying to lecture you here...😁)...but let me tell you, I had my first kid at 20. Exactly 20 years and 3 months old. I got married right after I turned 18...
Everything happens when it's meant to happen. We wanted a baby so badly, but we couldn't make it happen for almost two years...😍...and then, out of nowhere, there they were...

There's a time and a reason for everything. Just accept that things have to unfold this way... and seriously, like I said... you aren't some fifteen-year-old kid anymore...

Hang in there...😉 👍
shadowtinker21 said:I haven't noticed anything weird with my saliva🤷 everything feels pretty standard, at least from what I can tell... oh, I forgot to mention that a few days after my period ended, around July 26th or 27th, I had this pinkish discharge😕 which lasted for about two or three days... it showed up roughly a week after my period finished. I don't know... I guess it'll show up eventually. If not, I'll just go buy another test... a friend of mine—this was a long, long time ago—got a negative result on two tests even though she was pregnant

That part sounds a bit off for you... mentioning the spotting, hmm... that isn't ideal...

I honestly have no clue what it could be... maybe just try another test... those cheap ones are easy enough to find...

As for your friend, uhhhh... maybe she messed up the timing... or tested way too early...🤷

Just check this link to see if they're all actually counted:

Usually, you just have to leave the thread, exit the site, or hit Microsoft to refresh the page before your post actually shows up... unless, of course, a moderator nuked it. Robert Reyes56 said:Hey everyone.
Quick question about pregnancy tests. I'm 8 days late, so I picked up a Clearblue test at CVS yesterday. I took it this morning and saw two lines within 2 minutes, but the instructions say you're supposed to read the result between the 5 and 10-minute mark.
It doesn't say anything about what happens if both lines show up before those 5 minutes; it only says that if a line appears after 10 minutes, the test is invalid and needs to be redone.
So, is this a positive, or am I just wasting my time until I retake it?
Thanks.

Congrats if you were hoping for a baby, but if you weren't... well, oops... now you're stuck with it.😉
shadowtinker21 said:Exactly. but why was yours late? I honestly have no clue why mine is running behind. I haven't been stressed, I haven't been sick... I just don't know.🤷 god, I just hope it isn't anything serious...🙂 maybe it's just a cyst, and those can cause delays, right? My cycle has never been this late before, except for one time when I was about ten days overdue, but that was because I was under massive pressure studying for finals at State University, and the moment I passed the exam, everything went back to normal that very same day...

Actually, a cyst could definitely cause a delay. Mine has been late by as much as 18 days before...

Lately, though—over these last couple of months—it feels like almost everyone is dealing with a late period or some kind of irregular cycle. Why? Who actually knows... but there's definitely a trend here. Is it the summer heat or some other weird environmental factor🤷...

Since you already took a test, I'm assuming if it's negative, then it's negative. Period.

Have you noticed more saliva in your mouth than usual lately?

The hole looks like that because some power cable shorted out, so they had to tear into the wall to isolate the wiring... honestly, it’s a miracle he didn't get fried by the current or something worse...
He was using a Hilti... our walls are about 16 inches thick...
But the point is, he just left it like that and we were the ones stuck patching it up... the other holes weren't quite as bad...

Can't say for sure though...😂😂 I'm easily a hundred times better than her... and frankly, there's no point in even bothering with people like that...🤣

So, I thought I’d just share this photo to show you guys what "professional" workmanship actually looks like... I took a picture of one little hole they were supposed to fix, and instead, they just stuffed it with some spray foam... and while they were at it, because why stop at one? They went ahead and drilled *another* hole just for the internet cables...🤣

http://i28.tinypic.com/2gtyded.jpg

And the kicker? I just finished painting these walls myself last year... fresh as can be...

slywolf45 said:So, my husband just packs up everything and bolts for some party, huh? Just like that. Gone. Total vanishing act.☕

Not exactly... I wouldn't be rushing to grab a meal from those guys. Everything they touch comes with a massive markup. It’s ridiculous. Even today, my neighbor had to come over just to call me on the landline because I didn't want to risk checking my cell and seeing some insane roaming charge or hidden fee. You know how it goes. Why pay an extra dime for nothing? Just seems like a scam at this point. 😂
Speaking from experience here... back in the day, whenever I had to go in for those pelvic exams, I’d practically get diarrhea from sheer terror... whether it was a guy or a woman doing it.

I dealt with more men back then, but now I usually have women, who tend to be gentle and super polite. Though, I did encounter one female doctor at the hospital once who was just arrogant and rude—completely zero empathy for her own gender... and having someone like that watching you during labor? Ugh...

Nowadays, I've gotten used to it. I'm not embarrassed anymore. I mean, it's their job, right? I'm certainly not the first or last patient they've seen...
But look, it still matters to me... honestly, when I was pregnant, I walked a little differently. I was mostly terrified that I'd end up finding out something terrible about my baby... just hoping everything would be okay.

And then there was this one thing during my last delivery. I was coming in for checkups every two or three days because I was overdue, and the doctors would examine me before the CTG scans. I hadn't shaved down there... let's just say it was a bit "bushy"... quite a lot, actually.

So, the big day finally arrived, and that thick little forest was gone. But there was this young doctor who had been checking me out every single time... and of course, on that specific day, he had to be right there while they were shaving me. He was leaning right over my legs while another doctor was examining me...
God, I was so mortified... ugh... even he turned bright red when he saw me... I wanted to tell him, "Get lost! What are you staring at?"... but I couldn't. He just kept smirking... what a total creep...🤣 I wasn't exactly in the mood for jokes... I had a baby to deliver...

So yeah, people have all sorts of different situations and experiences when it comes to those pelvic exams....

I know you’re probably sick of this by now, but honestly? I’ve reached the point where I’m just hysterical. I can see you perfectly—pointing your finger in the air, shouting at them like 😂.

😂😂😂
Exactly. Just pointing a finger up in the air and yelling... (well, me... you're totally out of it, dammit... those $67...) and then there's me, just being stubborn. Even if I never see a single cent of that money, God knows they’ll remember me for the rest of their lives... that’s the goal, really... just letting them know that not everyone is a pushover and some people actually endure things...
mellowlynx68 said:Had to quote this one again. 😂
He ran the pipe right over the wheel. 😂
I might just kill myself 😂.

Yeah... we had a stroller (we haven't used one in years) sitting under the stairs... and I told him my stuff was underneath... suitcases, ice skates, rollerblades... he said it wouldn't be a problem. I even told him, "just don't puncture anything and we're good"...

He didn't puncture it, but he jammed the pipe behind the wheel, and the wheels got stuck tight against the corner... we didn't even dare try to lift the pipe, and since there was only a couple of inches of space, just a tiny gap, he somehow managed to nudge it out himself... but man, he was grumbling the whole time... good grief...

The heat is coming back... and I have a feeling this next part is going to be a scorcher.

Phone starts ringing... neighbor’s calling me out to the driveway. I head out there and what do I see? Our dear old Uncle Perry is over at their place—you know, the main character of this whole ridiculous soap opera we call life. Honestly? My mood just plummeted the second she laid eyes on him.

What an absolute clown. He rolls up to the neighbor's place, then suddenly she’s blowing up my phone, and now here we are—shouting at each other through a chain-link fence in their backyard. Seriously? Is this what my life has become? Just standing out here trading insults over some wire? Unbelievable.

They jumped down my throat immediately, questioning why I was swearing at them. All I did was write "P...m..." and call them out for being nothing but corrupt liars. What's the big deal?
If that’s the last straw... honestly, I’m just done. I mean, seriously? Is he actually going to stand there and publicly accuse us of stealing and burning his stuff? Like, really? Does he think we have nothing better to do? Just... wow. Unbelievable.

So he tells me it doesn't work anymore—as if I actually care about that part of the story. And then, get this, he clarifies he didn't say they set it on fire, just that they "burnt it out." You know, like when an engine finally gives up the ghost? Just fried. Meanwhile, I’m sitting here thinking about all the time I actually spent working on the damn thing. What am I supposed to do with that information?

So I tell him, "Look, your wife told me exactly that," right? And what does he do? He just looks at me like I’ve lost my mind and tells me I’m deaf. Like, seriously? She said it, plain as day, and now suddenly I’m the one who can't hear? It's always the same thing. Total gaslighting. Why does everyone think they can just rewrite reality whenever it suits them?

Here I go again... honestly, I just want my money back. Is that really too much to ask?
So... what's the deal? What even is this...? $67Oh, come on... give me a break. Are you kidding me? He’s seriously claiming he doesn't owe a dime? It’s the same old story, isn't it? I feel like such an idiot sometimes—how many times have I been played like this? Like that time I lent a thousand bucks to someone who swore they'd pay me back by Friday, only to realize I was just donating to their lifestyle. And now here we go again. He’s standing there, dead serious, insisting he never even borrowed the money. How does that even work? How do you just forget a debt?

How can you guys even ask that? After we spent three days straight moping around like idiots... he didn't say a word about it. Nothing. He just looked at me and said, "Fine, whatever you want." Then he hands over five hundred bucks. So now I’m sitting here wondering... where's the other five hundred?

He looks at me like I’ve lost my mind and asks, "How do you not know how to do the math?" Honestly... what is it with people? Is basic arithmetic suddenly a superpower now? Seriously.😲
I mean, give me a break... we already handed you guys 500 bucks! (And honestly, my wallet was screaming at me the whole time...) But even after that, I’m still sitting here hunting down my own 200 just to cover the sewing supplies. Makes sense, right? Not really.

And I just said the most honest thing... that maybe I’m not exactly sane. I mean, his wife actually brought me an entire bag of candy just because of that! Can you believe that?😲

I’ve never seen it happen, and honestly, I haven't even heard a whisper about her giving anyone so much as a piece of candy, let alone anything else...

I said... no... he didn't... she did... I mean... whatever. It isn't even like that. And besides, I wasn't exactly hunting her down for candy, was I? I wanted the cash. We can always work something out... let him just buy me a massive bag of chocolates, but make sure there's a receipt for... $67!!!

He just walked away, waving like nothing happened... while I’m standing here practically screaming at his back. As if that makes a difference. You still owe me twenty bucks, buddy. Seriously. Twenty bucks.🤣
