Schizophrenia - General Discussion in Psychology & Therapy ·
Arthur Scott5 said:If someone was just high, this would probably pass in a day or two. But we’re talking about two agonizing years of zero progress—just endless, looping thoughts about murder, implanting chips in people's heads, and consuming organs. I felt absolutely horrific when he told me just two days ago... he said I had to take my pet parrot, the one I love so dearly, and rip its head off with my teeth, drink all its blood, and eat its organs. After that, I ended up vomiting and pounding on my chest, struggling to catch my breath for about thirty seconds. I feel terrible right now. I've started taking a larger dose of C. Remedica, so maybe that will help. Is it actually possible for things to get better? Please, tell me there's a way forward. Is it possible for this to subside.. 🙂

Man, do you even realize how dangerous you are?😢 Please, just go to a hospital and find actual medical treatment.
Greed should be illegal in Close to Politics ·
Greed is probably worse than any other vice. To borrow a thought from Tole regarding the New World:

Driven by greed and seemingly oblivious to how they're all interconnected, people just keep repeating the same patterns. If nothing intervenes, I guess it’s only a matter of time before they engineer their own downfall.

I suppose there's another form of collective mental failure at play here—a type of violence we haven't even begun to name. It’s how we treat every other living thing and the planet itself. We destroy the forests that provide our oxygen, mistreat animals in industrial farms, and poison our rivers, oceans, and air. Maybe it's just how things are.

I suppose humanity's greatest achievement isn't found in art, science, or technology. Maybe it’s just finally recognizing our own madness.
I have some great thoughts on this, but I just don't feel like typing them all out.

Some people prefer living with phobias or issues like binge eating because it's familiar; they find that more comfortable than facing something new and unknown. Real change takes guts, but that's a conversation for another day.

As for those specific food cravings—if you stick to five smaller meals a day, they won't hit nearly as hard. Besides, who says you can't have a pizza or some burgers once a month, or a few pieces of chocolate or ice cream a week? Just actually enjoy it—no guilt allowed—and eat it mindfully so you satisfy the craving quickly.

For everything else, find a different way to vent that negative energy. Try belly dancing, hitting the gym, running with the dog, or even gardening—anything besides sitting around and eating. If you pick something physical, you'll kill two birds with one stone.

Just remember: as long as a problem causes you stress, you’re always going to reach for something to dull that feeling. The only permanent fix is changing how you think—basically, how you perceive things. But until then, you've got plenty of effective tools at your disposal.

Thanks, I suppose that’s the nicest compliment I’ve ever received. 🙂

Sweet 😛

That’s still fairly high in calories, I suppose, though maybe watermelon could help a bit.

I’d suggest looking into Emotional Freedom Techniques everywhere
.
Maybe it could help you tackle those cravings for sweets or whatever else is causing weight gain. It might actually solve the issue.
Or perhaps it could address the sadness, since I was just reading about what you've been going through.
Stupidity is what gets to me most. I guess there’s nothing quite as draining as watching someone cling to their own narrow worldview, refusing to see any other facts, while I waste my breath trying to explain to a perfectly rational person that reality isn't actually what they think it is.
I heard today that getting a divorce might be impossible if you're married to someone struggling with mental illness, since under Family Law, you aren't supposed to just abandon someone in that state.

William Mitchell50 said:I've spent years monitoring how my body reacts. I don't typically struggle with depression, but black tea and heavy doses of coffee seem to trigger it a few hours after drinking them—sometimes even lasting up to 20 hours. There's also this hypersensitivity, especially with black tea, right when the caffeine and theanine kick in.
For instance, my temperament with my five-year-old son is usually quite calm and patient. But when I drink coffee, I snap easily; my patience drops by maybe 90%. I also start sweating under my arms for no reason at all.

It’s a dangerous drug that wreaks havoc on relationships. It starts with hyperactivity, then leads straight into depression and passive aggression.
I've even noticed headaches during withdrawal when I skip coffee. Doesn't happen with tea.

I suppose it's just highly individual. We're all different. We might look the same on the surface, but we're fundamentally unique.

To me, coffee is basically just an aesthetic accessory for milk. If I drink black coffee, I start shaking just as much as I do after a few glasses of wine—my veins in my arms start throbbing, or at least that's how it feels to me. I suppose it might be some kind of allergy,

I honestly don't know. Caffeine shows up in quite a few skincare lines these days. As for alternatives, I guess coffee grounds are pretty popular for body scrubs—they seem to work wonders for the skin.

Chlorine is inherently hazardous, regardless of its specific form when introduced into a water supply. It is employed as a necessary evil—a tool used for disinfection to eradicate microorganisms within the system. In this process, certain compounds are formed which carry carcinogenic risks. Unfortunately, we have yet to discover a more efficient or cost-effective method for maintaining water purity across massive infrastructures, such as our municipal water systems.

Within public water networks, treatment plants utilize chlorine dosing stations that automatically inject precise amounts into the flow based on real-time quality assessments. These levels are kept at the absolute minimum required by federal safety regulations. If you believe there are significant issues at hand, I suggest contacting the EPA or your local health department, as they are the authorities responsible for overseeing the safety of drinking water distributed through public utilities.

Does boiling the water evaporate some of the chlorine?
So, here’s probably the most ridiculous way anyone has ever gained weight: I once got obsessed with collecting animal kingdom trading cards. I just wanted to finish the set as fast as possible, so I kept buying those snack packs at Target. I wanted the cards, but obviously, I couldn't eat them—so I ate all the chocolate instead. I ended up packing on the pounds faster than I expected, I guess. 😁

Maybe try an immunity booster. Echinacea, Acidophilus... I guess it’s just harder to flush bacteria out of your system when your immune system is running low.

I'm not sure I follow. Are you genuinely worried your dog has rabies, or are you just being a hypochondriac?
How do you guys actually recharge? in Health ·
I suppose, looking back, the best way to actually clear your head is to disappear into the wilderness for a few days—somewhere deep in the mountains where it’s quiet, away from everything that reminds you of what you should have done or what's still on your plate.

For something quicker, maybe just soaking in a hot tub loaded with some scented essential oils.

What kind of manual labor would you suggest? I don't really have many options, I guess. 🙄 Plus, I'm dealing with a nasty cold on top of everything else.

We all hit those walls where the physical and mental exhaustion just feels heavy, and we find ourselves counting down the days until the weekend or a holiday just to catch our breath. But I suppose there's a difference between stopping and actually recovering.
The usual plan is to stay in bed all day, though that often leaves you feeling even more drained than before. I guess it's worth asking—how do you all actually recharge?
gentlefox18 said:That’s true, but it’s honestly depressing that things have to be handled with fists. In 95% of cases, if you go around pummeling someone, you just end up attracting more trouble for yourself—you'll be stuck in meetings with the principal or the school counselor, and all that stuff just makes life even more miserable. Still, it feels much easier when I know that things might actually improve slightly after this happens...

He doesn't necessarily have to beat him up; a solid shove might do the trick. They have to defend themselves, I suppose. I've never really understood people who just sit there and take it.🙄 Talking to a principal or a counselor is usually just a bunch of nonsense meant to shut down anyone pointing out constant bullying.
Then again, humans are animals at their core. That's just the beginning; you eventually see how far people will go just to get ahead or satisfy some weird impulse.
The kid needs to learn how to defend himself. If one of them just landed a solid punch right to the face, they probably wouldn't dare push him around again, even if he took a beating in the process.
