This is the only thing actually making sense here. And it’s not just kids—it applies to adults too.
The basics are already set, though; you pretty much know what life throws at you from birth to old age. Life is technically "easier" for kids today than it was for previous generations. Because information moves so fast now, they've likely adapted to be quicker verbally and more resourceful. But they're also incredibly narrow-minded. All this info is way too simplified and just repeats itself constantly. Nowadays, you can barely find a song or a movie that feels truly original. It's all just cloning information because everyone consumes so much of it. Then you have the bureaucracy stepping in to try and control everything. The end result? You get a hollow generation—one that doesn't know how to think outside the box, only how to parrot what they were taught. You end up with this weird brand of perfectionism, which is a dead end because nobody ever taught them that life isn't about being perfect. That mindset just isolates you and prevents you from actually adapting to reality.
Maybe you're just at home right now, but honestly, nobody’s given you the full picture of what’s coming next.
All you really need is an ID, a phone, a bank account, and a resume. And in your specific situation? You need to hunt for a job. Find work, live with your boyfriend or grab a roommate, and start supporting yourself. Over time, you'll build up some savings in that account. Don't waste a cent on trinkets or gifts—that's just throwing money down the drain. Keep your wants and hobbies to a minimum.
If you have to, work two jobs. Boyfriends, nights out, friends, even family... they're all just distractions right now.
The goal is to one day have your own little studio apartment. That's the target.
That’s why I’m telling you to focus on what you can do while you're still at home. Treat this period like you're prepping for that 500-square-foot place of your own. Put all your energy into it. Trust me, the results will show. Help out your brother or your parents with the house while you're there. On top of that, finish school and get looking for work. Once you land a job, make that your entire world.
Guys are nothing but trouble for you right now. You're better off without them—unless, of course, you manage to find someone wealthy (or just genuinely sane) who actually cares about you. But that requires having a pretty good eye for people.
How on earth is he developing that fast when it’s supposed to take 18 years to reach maturity?
Besides, almost all babies are raised using pretty much the same methods. What kind of "special" technique are you people planning to use that'll somehow yield better results?
And yet, everyone loves to talk about how kids just "transform" into someone else over the course of a few years.
You aren't the only one without a safety net. I'm pretty sure there are millions of people just like you across the country
And even if you did have everything you're missing right now, we could always find some way to fill those gaps
If you want my advice, just learn how to play the game. Play dumb, do exactly what they tell you to do, and then go lock yourself in your room. Start planning your escape for when you turn 18—even if that feels like a total suicide mission right now. Just keep this house in your back pocket as a backup plan. What happens if your new life doesn't pan out?

I have no idea how you interpreted that. I’ve written my own piece, and let me tell you, I know I’m working with eight even eyes while most people are stuck with just two. It isn't exactly rocket science—having only two eyes makes it obvious that reaching for something low to the ground is easy, whereas grabbing something up high is a struggle. But at the end of the day, it's all the same logic.
Look, I’m a guy, but I have to tell you one thing—I’ve been through this scenario about 500 times.
I’ve never really stopped to wonder how that girl feels. I always go for the better option. Well, unless she’s already taken or just isn't much of a talker. But even then, I usually make the mistake of thinking they aren't on the same page. It seems like girls—aside from maybe some Mediterranean types—rarely coordinate to help one another out. Usually, one just pulls the other right along with her. It’s proof they don't have any backbone. They don't seem to believe in their own value or that they're capable of standing on their own two feet.
But at the same time, I have to tell you that guys mess up their choices quite often. Everyone falls for that flashy, high-energy bombardment, when in reality, the girl is just as attractive—she’s just waiting for someone to make a move, and she's more than willing to give more back.
My advice? Don't get distracted by someone who's prettier than you. Move past her and fight for what's yours. Think about how many times men pursue women every single day, yet women almost never do the same? Tell me again that it can't be done.
What’s the point of this friend of yours? Let her dump him, and then you take him for yourself... trust me, it doesn't matter how you end up getting him. Because of that basic human selfishness, and since you were looking out for your friend, I’m shutting the door on you right now.
Listen to me: a man heads toward the best one, but he ends up in bed with the easiest one.

Like, do you think they'll think of historical figures named Gaius when they hear what their classmates are being called in the US today? Don't even bother answering, because I already know.

Every single letter carries its own vibe and weight from back in the day. Names were formed long before us. Especially names. When you repeat something that makes you feel strong, while simultaneously drawing strength from those around you, it’s a perfect recipe for building an ego. And let's face it, modern society is nothing if not pure ego. Bigger ego equals higher social status.
Someone stuck with a bad name has to constantly fight and prove themselves. But there's a side effect to that. That effect is learning—or maybe just developing a sense of empathy for people who have it harder than you.
P.S. Don't take this for granted. Your kid could end up being a complete moron despite having a great name. In that case, nobody's even going to notice the name.
Richard Wells said:People don't really feel anyone else's struggles. Maybe they do, but only if you let them vent and then "fix" things for them—sort of like a trade-off. It’s basically everyone except parents. And look, your buddy has his own circle, too. Honestly, he probably wouldn't even care about your situation enough to keep it quiet; he'd end up venting about it to someone else eventually anyway.
It's because they were raised cooped up in four walls, only ever dealing with their own mess.
I know kids who spent more time in community centers than in their own bedrooms, and they're probably way more social... but hey, who am I to judge? I'm not out here playing saint for everyone. If I were, where would I even be?
Some people get burned in life and someone actually steps up to help them. Now, they're the ones paying it forward.
Sheep, for example—even if they wanted to help one another, they just can't.
Is it actual proof, or just mindless chatter? These days, people talk about "heroic" things, but now everything is just a joke. If you can even call this progress. It’s all because of how we raise kids. Instead of letting them go out and learn how to hunt or figure things out for themselves, we coddle them with baby talk and nonsense. We treat them like they're precious little angels, and suddenly a kid is still acting like a toddler well into their thirties. It's a pretty interesting way to raise a human being, if you ask me.
While that person was sitting there with you for fifteen minutes, there was only one topic on the table.
But once they sit down with someone else for fifteen minutes, they won't mention what you were talking about. That’s when you become the scapegoat for whatever happens next.
By the time they come back to sit with you for another fifteen minutes, someone else is going to be left holding the bag for everything that went wrong.
Maybe try being a little less "spiritual" and a little more realistic. Go hit up a strip club for a while... then when you're bored of that, come home and actually think about things.
Listen to this guy—from his cold heart to his brain, all the way down to his junk... just a pile of meaningless sentences that somehow end up becoming top-tier nonsense (no offense intended).
I forgot to mention that the 20-to-30-year-old crowd is going to be running the show in ten years. Half of them are already climbing the ladder in all the major industries
The US just doesn't have any sense of style. Maybe around Maui it’s somewhat okay, but everywhere else? Nothing. Zero taste.
Honestly, most of you have zero clue what life is actually about these days.
People flock to Maui for one specific reason: the party scene.
Maui offers an energy that you just can't find anywhere else in America.
You've got 20-somethings from London to Los Angeles talking and planning their trips to Maui, making sure they book things like the Sail America regatta.
That whole party lifestyle isn't just about being dead drunk and acting like an idiot. It's about hooking up without any strings attached and escaping the soul-crushing monotony waiting for you back home.
As for those of you who don't "get it," you stay quiet because you sound like a silent black-and-white movie.
The older generations are really just getting in the way of the new ones in this country.
I won't even get into whether things are better in other countries; that’s usually just what people say when they actually have some perspective. But I can tell you this: I know people who moved to Australia with nothing and came back loaded. Similarly, most of my customers at the restaurant are foreigners; locals aren't exactly lining up to spend money here... and then there's my sister, who works in the US, making a salary comparable to a high-ranking cabinet official back home.
She says this country is great if you're lazy, love to mess around, and don't have much ambition.
If you actually have big ambitions and haven't built an army to protect your interests... you're screwed. You have to play the game and look out for yourself. That’s the only way to survive.
The system is a complete joke. It’s sluggish, nobody gives straight answers, and everything boils down to waiting and searching... most of it gets sorted through "who you know."
I remember a few years ago when I totaled my car. I was chasing down a cop just to get a report—the right to have him hand it over to the police, the insurance company, the court, and me... what kind of country is that??!
I could give you a hundred examples of things that are tolerated while completely nonsensical stuff goes unchecked...
My favorite example is this one urban planning office where citizens have to ask the exact same face for help. And their office hours are from 10:30 to noon, twice a week.
Or look at the US Embassy. Their window for consultations is from 2:30 to 3:00? What kind of working hours are those for actual business???
Or when a lawyer tells her that a case might drag on forever, depending on who has more leverage—her or him?! What kind of country is this, where a lawyer gives you an answer like that while the woman is just trying to meet basic requirements to work.
The legalization process is another joke. Everyone who was operating illegally now has a legal house, while the ones who actually followed the law and begged for permits... ended up with nothing.
Do I need to go on? Personally, politics serves no purpose. Everything should be replaced by specialized agencies focused on development, oversight, and so on...
Compare your cluttered closet to this country, and you'll see why there's zero progress. It’s just a pile of people looking out for their own interests; once they get home, they stop working and just go to sleep. These are people who weren't built for growth and have no drive beyond hanging out with their buddies.
If anything were actually happening here, laws would be changing daily. You wouldn't have morality, patriotism, technology, and green initiatives all getting tangled up in everything... instead, resources would be focused and working 24/7.
My advice to the dissatisfied is to find a dollar in your house. Start providing some kind of service, manufacturing something... one dollar at a time until things improve. It's a shame the state isn't open to these micro-entrepreneurs... but that's your only option.
Let the people who actually know how to hustle look for work. The jobs will always follow them.
Someone’s speeding, and whether they're actually at fault or just driving fast... people lose it immediately. It's all "get off the road" and death threats before you can even blink.
2. Relationship drama
People just can't help themselves. They see someone struggling with a breakup and practically trip over themselves to swoop in.
3. Messing with friends
Everything starts out great, then everything goes south fast.
It's the same old story... just a bunch of people with zero life experience and way too much misplaced energy.
There are basically two main reasons why our society is circling the drain
Adults—they give up way too easily. The second they catch wind that something isn't perfect, everyone collectively throws their hands up and jumps ship. Most people don't even realize how toxic that is; they just follow the herd. I remember seeing this happen at a local grocery store once; something wasn't quite right, and suddenly everyone felt the need to make a massive scene about it. That’s how you shut doors on the very people who actually need the business
And these are the same people who claim they want to succeed in life? Yeah, I don't think so. Honestly, I’m almost glad the economy is looking grim right now; maybe it'll finally force some people to grow a conscience
Then there's the younger generation—they’d love to act entitled without putting in any actual work. If they’re stuck doing a routine job, they’re already counting down the minutes until they can head out, hop on a bike, or hit up a bar. They seem to loathe working but absolutely live for the nightlife. For them, there’s no concept of "work-life balance" where you finish a shift and then go home to rest or work on something for your own house. No, it’s always "blow all my money tonight"... and then they wonder why they end up depressed? And of course, mothers will always defend their kids no matter what, acting like everything is a tragedy. It’s ridiculous. For every one shirt they buy, they’ve probably cost their parents ten
To sounds completely useless to me from a realist's perspective.
I live this every single day, while millions of people are out there just making stuff up... I don't see any "experience" building up inside me... mainly because I stay laser-focused on what I actually want instead of just drifting around. If you have to force yourself to focus on a specific direction, that's your own problem—it means you lack focus in the first place.
Maybe the guy’s just hit his limit. Let him be... does he really need you hovering over him trying to "correct" his thinking? You’re over twenty, surely you have better things to do with your time. Focus on yourself and leave other people alone...
They have this specific vibe. It’s pretty similar to those gritty indie dramas we see back home, except instead of being comedies, they’re heavy on the drama. I liked the radio part most. When the kid listens to the radio by basically retelling everything he hears.
