Peter Doyle2 As I was saying, there really isn't much else to add to the matter at hand, though I suppose one could attempt to dwell on the minutiae if they possessed the infinite patience required for such a tedious endeavor. To be perfectly honest, I’ve come to the weary conclusion that a religious wedding ceremony is easily one of the six great blunders of a human life. 🙄 Thank goodness I finally managed to grow a backbone and stand my ground against the constant pressure from everyone around me, because quite frankly, I have absolutely no intention of ruining my child’s life just to follow some mindless "everyone else is doing it" mentality—it’s honestly exhausting how people think conformity is a virtue.
Just as an aside, if you were married in a church but haven't actually had the child baptized, then frankly, you aren't really cut out for the role of godmother—not that we even use that term properly here, since at a wedding ceremony they are technically just witnesses rather than godparents. During the vows, the priest asks: "Are you prepared to receive these children with the love of God and raise them according to the law of Christ and His Church?" And you were supposed to say yes. But since you haven't baptized the child or provided a religious upbringing, you’re essentially living in violation of the oath you took before the altar; it is a continuous sin because the situation remains unrectified. It is quite similar to those people who are divorced yet continue to live with someone else—they simply refuse to correct their sinful state.
I truly don’t believe we can lay the blame at the feet of the Church when it comes to our peculiar, almost pathological American tendency toward excessive gift-giving. It is woven into the very fabric of how we operate, isn't it? I mean, honestly, I once served as a maid of honor where the ring alone cost more than a decent used car—it was utterly absurd, though I suppose that is just how we do things now. $67With a Bible worth $160 and a little bouquet of flowers—honestly, if you know, you know. It’s all part of the ritual, isn't it? But really, the burden should fall on the parents to keep those adolescent whims and sudden demands somewhat in check, not to mention managing the megalomaniacal urges of the godparents who seem absolutely desperate to prove whose status is more significant.
Oh, yes, the headlines are certainly piling up, aren't they? It seems like every time I refresh my feed, there’s yet another sensationalist piece screaming about some new crisis. But one has to wonder if there truly is such a massive surge in violence as these media outlets would have us believe... As someone who spends their entire day navigating the halls of an American school, I find myself looking at the reality on the ground and feeling quite skeptical of the alarmism.
I honestly feel like some people in this thread have built up these massive, cinematic delusions about how things actually work... I mean, let’s be realistic here—our public schools aren't exactly popping off like they do in those high-budget Hollywood movies. Most of the time, everything just functions perfectly fine, in a standard, unremarkable sort of way. You have most teachers finding that weary middle ground between a soul-crushing lecture and trying too hard to put on some theatrical performance to pass the hour. Most of them manage to maintain a decent level of discipline in the classroom without much fuss. And frankly, most students successfully navigate their curriculum and move on with their lives just fine. When things go sideways, it’s almost always an isolated incident involving specific individuals, and those issues get handled as they come. At the end of the day, school remains a fundamentally positive institution, possessing its own unique set of highs and lows, much like just about everything else we encounter in this life.
Has anyone happened to stumble upon a score yet? I mean, did anyone actually manage to put any points on the board, or is it just more of the same nothingness we've come to expect?
So... let me see if I’ve actually grasped the logic here. You’re suggesting that because I, Diane, don't use these specifically for birth control—but rather to manage my PCOS diagnosis—they essentially cost me nothing out of pocket? That if I didn't have this particular medical condition hanging over my head, I'd be staring down a massive bill instead? Well, isn't that just absolutely fascinating...
It’s passable, I suppose. I find myself actually appreciating that the narrative doesn't lean so heavily on children, opting instead to focus on actual, breathing adults... There is something inherently compelling about the notion that he truly rose from the common folk, because let’s be honest, what high-born aristocrat could ever genuinely grasp the struggles of the working class? Absolutely none of them. It isn't exactly a cinematic masterpiece, but it serves as a decent enough distraction when one finds themselves with far too much time on their hands and nothing better to occupy the mind... The one thing that continues to vex me, however, is this glaring lack of clarity: at what precise moment did those kids from the woods decide to take his side? And for what reason, heavens above? Did I somehow miss a significant romantic subplot or a sudden moment of bonding? 🤷
silentmoose14 said:Absolutely, positively, truly fantastic—it was nothing short of a cinematic triumph. 🙂 Everything about him, from the very first frame to the final credits, never fails to leave me utterly spellbound. I am well aware that it’s scheduled to air on TV tomorrow, but frankly, I have no intention of watching it alone; I'm holding out so I can experience it alongside my family when I finally make it back home for Christmas. 😍
Well, this is precisely my strategy as well... It’s something I’ve been nursing for years now, if I’m being perfectly honest about it. *sigh*
So, what are we doing now—bragging about whose collection of cinematic devotion is more massive? Honestly, I went to the theater to see every single installment twice. Back then, before I even owned a 😂 , I made sure to snag all three parts on VHS. Then, once the technology caught up and I finally got a DVD, I had to have the whole trilogy on DVD too. And because I clearly don't know when to stop, I hunted down the extended editions as well. It is, without a shadow of a doubt, the one series I’ve amassed most aggressively in my little home library 😬 . I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve sat through them all... And, naturally, I even have the white tree of Gondor tattooed on me. Of course I do... 😍 I’m casting my vote for the second film. There’s just something about it that hits the spot perfectly for me. You have Aragorn returning from the dead, then the elves riding in to save the day, and then, oh, the sheer brilliance of Eomer arriving... For a sensitive woman's heart like mine, there really isn't anything more beautiful 😬 😍. Plus, if I'm being honest, it was the one that resonated with me most deeply as a kid.
Oh, I’m doing just wonderful, truly... The moment he catches sight of me walking through the door, he lights up with this ridiculous, frantic energy: "Aaaa, there she is! So, come on, tell me—did you actually follow the doctor's orders? Did you? Yes, you did... No, wait, you didn't... Uh..." And then, without even a moment's pause, I just settle onto my little stool while he drones on about his latest lab results, or some trivial nonsense regarding politics, or sports, or his obsession with marathons and cycling and hiking, all while he scribbles down some hormonal prescription and bids me a quick goodbye... 😍 If I ever actually decide to walk down the aisle, I honestly fear I might feel a profound sense of embarrassment in his presence... 🤷
It was a genuine shock to my system when it finally dawned on me that the workouts themselves aren't actually the issue... 🤷 It’s quite rare for me to have those days where I just can't bring myself to move, and even then, I usually end up forcing my way through them out of pure stubbornness... 🤷 Yet, I simply cannot wrap my head around why that intense surge of motivation and sheer willpower I summon for my training sessions refuses to follow me over to my desk 🤷 It just won't happen, no matter how much I try...

Calling it "charming" when they can't hit the broad side of a barn is one thing, 😵but you aren't going to win any ladies over by starting a debate about Magic Johnson...😂 I mean, he didn't even put one in the net! Or at least, I had somehow convinced myself in my own misguided way that he managed to score just one.
Well, technically speaking, there’s one little thought rattling around in my head... though that might just be the product of a long, lonely monologue during a restless night in the Midwest... Look, I consider myself a rational woman, someone who is far above this kind of teenage nonsense. It is truly exhausting how many times I find myself having to repeat the same points over and over again when things actually get serious... 😂 But fine, I’ll concede. The discussion really ought to be centered on the game itself. It truly should.
Ashley Martin6 said:Actually, just tell him he needs to trim those ends a little, maybe just a couple of inches.
Do you even realize what "a couple of inches" means to a man?! 😲 He shouldn't touch a single thing; he’s got exactly enough length right where it needs to be... 😂

Precisely! Forget the technicalities of the game; we should focus on what truly matters in this chaotic life! For instance, if he actually decided to get a haircut, I’d be forced to trek to the games all by myself, which would be an absolute tragedy, but as it stands, I have not just one, but two lovely companions to accompany me. One of them relies entirely on this one friend who owns a car—so I don't even have to worry about driving since he'll tag along if she goes—and the other is kind enough to grab the tickets ahead of time so I can bypass those dreadful lines altogether. Honestly, LeBron James's hairstyle is what keeps my complicated existence feeling somewhat beautiful and uncomplicated. We love LeBron. 😂
Honestly, I had the exact same impression; it felt as though, looking back at those old days, he’d actually filled out quite a bit more now than when he was younger and just wandering around aimlessly with those metallic fingers of his 🙂 ...
It isn't even a debate when we start talking about losing our "safety net," because, frankly, a gynecologist is an essential physician for far more than just one specific reason... I still maintain my own relationship with mine, and I make it a point to visit my doctor every single year without fail. We sit down, we have a proper consultation, and together we’ve managed to tackle everything from treating my PCOS to discussing how much physical activity I actually need to stay healthy... At the end of the day, seeing a gynecologist shouldn't be strictly tethered to whether or not you're sexually active.
