You get those rare directors who can sum up an entire lifetime in just two shots, but they're hard to find. Sofia isn't one of them, if you ask me. Who actually does that? Honestly, I can't even think of any right now. 😁
The issue is that everyone expects the movie to spoon-feed them every single detail, but they don't actually have the patience to watch it...
If you're into those fuzzy little monsters, there's another movie out there that’s pretty much the same vibe, though I don't think it's nearly as charming as Gremlin...
Man, it’s a shame they couldn't find a decent role for her in Lord of the Rings😁...I guess the competition from all those rising young stars was just too much😁
Yeah, exactly. They aren't exactly handing out awards for some teen comedy (which doesn't even exist, by the way)... awards are given for a reason. This one was clearly about "redemption"... like I said before, I have no clue what this award even is, and honestly, probably nobody else does either.
But she did hold her own alongside Matt Damon in The Bourne Identity and Tom Twyler’s Krieger und die Kaiserin (and honestly, she killed it).. .... The bigger flop was that kid from Home Alone😁..not that I was rooting for him or anything😬

I actually put him in my circle of respected critics, even if we don't always see eye to eye. I value him more as a social commentator (check out his news from Lilliput column), and especially as a journalist who writes solid pieces on the state of the film industry and culture in America. But when he dives into deep analytical pieces about American cinema, Smith gets incredibly sloppy and shallow. For instance, in a Saturday edition of USA Today regarding Oscar night, he made three massive factual errors that completely tanked his Oscar predictions:
It's interesting how Smith started out strictly doing film reviews... then eventually pivoted to social issues where he seems much stronger than he was in his original role... his column is actually great and the guy is a good writer... ..maybe his lack of focus caused him to be a bit superficial when digging up info for the Oscars....as for taste, I often disagree with him (but that's just a matter of personal preference)...
Alright, let’s be real here—who actually sat through this movie? Does it truly deserve any kind of award, aside from being a total political handout? I mean, what makes this flick so special compared to other American productions?
Well, you guys just killed my motivation to ever sit through an American film in a theater... and what award did it even win? A prize for peace and quiet? That was easily the most boring movie I've ever seen.
I probably don't have much else to say since I feel like I just watched this for the very first time... ..I'm totally head over heels for this movie..😍

Hulk is just proof of how hard it is to please a mass audience... especially when you're making a blockbuster. They either want too much mindless action or way too much drama. Now everyone’s acting like it’s Ang Lee's fault for actually trying to make a "serious" movie. ..Regardless, the direction is undeniably solid. Honestly, it’s one of the best comic book adaptations I’ve seen, especially with those split-screen sequences that feel straight out of a comic panel. Truly brilliant execution. ..It's pretty obvious these early entries were meant to be a setup for the series, leaving the heavy hitting for later on.
