Michelle Gonzalez said:Aside from being a total joke, I think there's a cool concept here regarding variation and improvisation. It’s like jazz—you take a theme and run with it, or you play a Duke Ellington standard but reinterpret it so thoroughly that it becomes something entirely new and richer.

Right... just imagine if Leth could go back and film that third installment without all those restrictions.😲 ..anything's possible...

Lars is basically badgering Jorgen Leth into remaking his own film, 'The Perfect Human,' but with a catch: he’s imposing seven specific creative constraints on him along the way...
...
So, Lars is playing games with the movie again. Honestly, I can't tell if he's trying to promote himself, the film, or just Jorgen...
I didn't realize until now that this whole thing is just an experiment—basically two friends messing around, though Leth pretty much steamrolled Lars right out of the gate during the first obstacle...

Yeah, pretty interesting. Out of 11 people at the theater, four couples saw that giant heart on the poster and spent the entire movie asking stuff like, "What even is this?" or "Why do they talk so much?"
As for Woody, I can't be objective anymore, so I have no clue if the movie is any good 😁...honestly, in his recent era, even Small Time Crooks felt like a weak effort (if you can even call his movies that)
...Total waste of time. 👍

I liked how he handled that twist... just let Takeshi Kitano keep filming...

Gerald Barrett25, I can't say I agree with how you're reading this... At first glance, I took Tarantino's comment as a nod to the old-school Hollywood way of doing things and a jab at that pretentious "auteur" style you see in indie circles, so it felt a bit contradictory coming from him... But hey, maybe it really was just a plain observation (which, honestly, makes sense too).

Gerald Barrett25 said:I caught Quentin on BBC News saying:

"There are only three countries in the world with sustainable film industries - USA, India and Hong Kong," the director insisted. "What do these countries have in common? They each have a star system, actors that citizens of that country want to pay and see. At the end of the day people go to see films to see stars."

Maybe I’m just slow, but what is he even getting at here? Doesn't his last sentence basically contradict everything he just said?
Smallville😂..it’s like they’re having a contest to see who can pull off the dumbest translation...
And honestly, you should probably just hold off on those summer blockbusters here in the States. It's common knowledge that summer season basically doesn't exist, so they just freeze all the premieres until fall kicks in....

Douglas Edwards2 said:Story from Osaka is an excellent movie. To be honest, once the narrator starts hunting for her father about a third of the way through, you start to wonder if it's actually going somewhere. But by the time the story wraps up, you're left with a really good feeling. 👍

Maybe I was being a bit unfair by calling my take "conditionally" negative. Honestly, the movie caught me off guard because my expectations were pretty low to begin with. That whole shift—from a family crammed together on one tiny bed to everyone gathering around a hospital bed—was actually brilliant.

Kitano is a master... he basically stumbled into directing by accident... the movie is just fantastic. It’s warm, hilarious enough to make you cry (that scene in the parking lot where he walks up to the truck asking for a ride... when the guy asks who he is, Kitano just goes: "fucking hitchhiker"😁) plus that genius "white" cinematography of his....👍

ELIS in TEARS experimental film screening—it's a bit of a head-scratcher if you don't know the backstory...

Story from Osaka... interesting stuff... maybe a little long and feels inconsistent at times (could be an issue with connecting to the Yellow characters, who knows😁)...
..
And seriously, why do the Japanese always make movies that are over two hours long?
AS Monaco👍...not like they have any fans anyway...😁

Alright folks, let's try to tone it down a bit... if we want to keep this sub from turning into a total circus, we just need a little basic decency and fewer personal jabs. It won't be that hard.

Thanks to the movie, I learned that even the most powerful supercomputers can be knocked offline just by slamming a keyboard hard enough.

If I actually wanted that, I would’ve just posted some mindless comment from someone who clearly didn't read the thread, just to feed a fragile little ego.🙄>

blueranger12 said:[BDAs I walked through the living room, the movie was playing and everything looked washed out—just these bright yellow scenes everywhere. At first, I thought the TV had finally kicked the bucket, but then I realized it was an artistic choice. Honestly? I dug it. Based on that alone, the movie's a winner for me. 😁 [/B]

Don't make me remind you that people said the exact same thing about the Colosseum when they first saw it.😁

blueranger12 said:This movie is such garbage I haven't even bothered watching it—that's how bad it is. It’s so trash that my brother watched half of it, then stopped, then started again; just pure junk. It's the kind of garbage where the lead acts like a washed-up Travolta. Honestly, I haven't seen it myself, which makes me a loser. 😁 Ali I believe Jose Miller17. Though Jose Miller17 is also a loser for actually sitting through it. You guys are all trash.

What's the matter, blueranger12? I used to be young and naive enough to think you had to watch bad movies just to appreciate the good ones...
this flick pretty much destroyed that youthful delusion for me.😁

Watching Dogma again, and honestly, it’s not as bad as I remembered... The script is actually pretty sharp, and it’s obvious Kevin Smith was trying to pivot away from his usual style... Maybe the pacing trips up a bit, but the biggest issue is definitely Linda Fi... her facial expressions and that whole delivery really drag the movie down.

I didn't even realize the paper was called The Los Angeles Times... I honestly thought the New York Times had just flipped over to The Los Angeles Times and started handing out freebies everywhere.😁
